How to Use Beginning Readers

- Bob Books author, Lynn Maslen Kertell, teaches you how to use Set 1, Beginning Readers with your child. These books are meant for children who know the alphabet, and are ready to sound out their first words!
I don't think I can overstate the impact Bob Books had on my life. When I was in k-3 grades, my school used the whole language approach to learning to read. My mom had already caught on that this method was not working with my older brother, so she decided she would teach me to read herself with Bob Books. While many of my peers were struggling, I was reading at a 3rd-grade reading level by the time I entered 1st grade, and that gave me a love of reading that I carried with me my entire life. I just purchased the program for my son, and am looking forward to getting started!
I love Bob Books. I bought a used set for beginner readers after I taught my boys how to sound out words. My 3 and 4 yr. olds went through the books so quickly and easily, so my husband and I decided to buy the entire set including the board game. The boys are so proud that they can read a whole book by themselves. I wish you were selling the dolls because we would’ve bought those too. I showed the boys what we bought for them and they wanted the dolls. They excitedly said “that’s Sam and Mat! 🤣

When me and my brother were both 9 and 12 we both were reading these books and one time it took my 12 year old brother an hour to read one of these books. But we are older now and we can read well because we decided to start trying in life 😂

Ty, I just bought Bob books from Costco. But I had a hard time researching the difference between 1) collections 2) sets. And then there are different titles that don't match collections or sets. I couldn't find entire collection anywhere (my preference since it has larger pictures and is possibly more engaging with kids).
Please let me know how to use the stickers
Can we access these books in South Africa?
I recently purchased the books from American amazon that has Sam with a triangular head. The online resources show round headed Sam but what I have is different and that confuses kids.

Hello.. do you have a suggestion for books/ anything to teach phonic to my daughter (before i give her these bob books)? English is not our mother language, but she's getting more and more interested at it 😁

Teach her the alphabet with using the sounds as well as the letter. sing the ABCs as they sound ....it helps!
It is fine to use Bob Books as the first books to read English. They are very simple.
She does not say anything about the word 'on'
