    My old Takoma DC neighborhood is holding it's own and even doing better then I remember. I brought my first house there, in 1974' for 23K (Great deal from Metro, new subway coming in ). Left the area, but held on too it and turned it into a rental until the 90's and sold it for six figures. You did a great job presenting the area on both sides. I need to revisit soon.

    At the 19:10 mark, wow. 6110 Silgo Mill road, between the SF home and semi-detached townhouse was an open lot that epic battles of badminton took place along with cookouts that ended late into the night LOL.

    Well done Sir, detals matter. House No. 1 has potential. House No. 2 is a no thank you. House No. 3 basement bedrooms should have egress windows, which those didn't seem to be and house No. 4 nicely done, but New Hampshire Ave. is just to busy to live on for me... especially at that price. I just love how these home sellers bump up these prices just because it looks nice.

    House #4 has two HVAC systems, one for the second floor and one for the first floor and basement. That’s a very nice feature in my experience. You can see the Nest thermostat on the wall of the master bedroom and the two condensing units in the backyard.

    As a native Washingtonian who now lives in Maryland, I appreciate the house tours especially the information about the neighborhoods. A lot of folks think DC is just the White Hous and ghettos. DC has officially hit LA and Seattle pricing.

    I live in 16th Street Heights D.C. I loved the second home in Takoma Park, Maryland. The only reason why I wouldn't purchase this home due to it's location on a busy street. The other homes you showed were on residential streets.

    Love your channel and the content, and how your you provide so much great information about the area’s. House 1 is a yes, The price, area, living room , kitchen and outdoors are a great size, but basement area would have to be renovated, especially that bar with those horrible shingles. Now for house 2, the front porch and back area is good, I like the paved area’s, but the grass it’s in need of a landscaper and the sleep in the basement need to be restaged without that bed. House 3 is a flat out no, too many bedrooms on the main level, and house 4 would be perfect but New Hampshire ave has too much traffic.

    The second home I think the Saturday the house with the gate is at it’s not that much room so the other house is too close up on it and everybody like a nice kitchen. The kitchen is small and it kind of looks incomplete. It don’t have enough counter space, the backyard is small and the price is too high

    We toured the 2nd home in September 2023 when it was priced at 1,050,000. Cons: too expensive, cheap flooring, barely any kitchen countertops/bad kitchen layout (should have made the small office part of the kitchen), low ceiling in the basement (my 6' 1.5" husband had to duck), very small 3rd bedroom on the 2nd floor, very steep stairs going to the attic, small and irregular shaped backyard/not fenced. It had a cheap flipper feel to the whole house and definitely overpriced.

    If you move to Takoma Park, watch your dog. According to the Washington Post, there’s a dog killer on the loose. TP is a “nuclear free zone” but innocent dogs are fair game. Just like a small southern town.
    The other day I was watching the old movie “The Help.” The parallels between Mississippi and TP are amazing.

    • @BashirBadruDMVRealtor
      @BashirBadruDMVRealtor  Před 23 dny +7

      So for more context to this, There is no “dog killer on the loose” in Takoma park. A dog attacked its owner in the middle of the night and she was crying for help, so a neighbor heard the cries, came out and shot and killed the dog to prevent it from mauling its owner to death. The fact that Takoma park is a nuclear free zone has nothing to do with the incident. All A nuclear free zone means is that you cannot buy, test or use nuclear weapons in the said area. The dog was shot by a pistol and not a nuclear weapon . You’re making quite an exaggeration of the issue my friend. Lol

      @robkimberlin959 Před 23 dny

      @@BashirBadruDMVRealtor Your version is not how the story was reported in The Washington Post. And if what happened was as noble as you are describing why is the dog’s owner so upset and why are the perpetrators afraid to have their name known? As for my reference to the nuclear free zone, I wasn’t implying the poor dog was nuked. I was pointing out the self righteous, self aggrandizing hypocrisy which characterizes your little village.
      Also, I think anyone thinking about buying a house in your little burg should know there are residents who keep guns and are willing to take it on themselves to shoot their neighbors dogs. Not the idyllic picture TP likes to try to pass itself off as.

    A house for that price with the smallest living room and space ever? 😂😂😂. The dinning and kitchen are the best due to the space.
