my mom got this car a few weeks back and it's the best vehicle we've yet to own. It drives like a yacht, holds literally everything, and is the best option for a full size luxury suv.
What happened to when you would start up the car... I'm disappointed because that was my favorite part and I'm sure it was a lot of other people's favorite part... Sigh
To be honest, I completely forgot to do it on this one. For certain vehicles, I'm trying out a shorter, more quick hitting format so I can get videos uploaded faster. This way I can work on the seriously in-depth videos, but still have other cool videos ready to go! I filmed this video before the Renegade I uploaded the other day, which if you saw that one I did include it. Call it a learning curve :) No worries!
Awesome SUV! Mercedes does an awesome job making these. Build quality, styling and features are just awesome! That's why I love Mercedes so much. Thanks for uploading and don't forget, you're awesome!
The GL has always been one of my favorite vehicles on the road (My aunt has a '13 GL450) and sadly I like that one much more than the new GLS, its quite disappointing
Love your videos! It was such a relief that this was the only video to be in a different format.... I've been watching you since like 2010 when u had ur Genesis Coupe! Keep up the great work
love this new quick review, don't get me wrong i like your long format but let's be honest, not every car needs a 40 minutes detailed review. As for the car, XC90 seems to make a lot more sense to me
Hey saabkyle I've been watching your videos for such a long time know since your wildfire and family dealership start ups. I still love watching your videos! Keep up the fantastic work Kyle!
That's quite innovative for Mercedes to have the right front seat to move forward by itself when ever you fold forward the second row right seat so that way there is more space to get in the third row. I say 'innovative' because you can expand the interior space without having to expand the exterior length of the SUV which would make parking it harder. I guess there is more reason for the front seats to be powered.
The GL is nowhere near the size of a Lincoln Navigator, or the escalade. The GL dates back to the Diamler Chrysler mashup, meaning that car is basically the same underpinnings as the Dodge Durango. This means it is more comparable to a Chevy Tahoe, Dodge Durango(obviously), etc. It is not a full-sized suv (in the way a suburban or navigator is) so can everyone stop acting like it is
An Escalade is basically a Tahoe, they're the same size. The GLS actually has more third seat room than the Escalade from what I remember. A Suburban or an Escalade ESV would be completely different animals as they're on a stretched wheelbase. Considering the size and pricepoint, they would compete in the same class.
My family has had a 2007 Mercedes GL 550 and they're a bitch to own. Beautiful vehicle but the maintenance is excessively expensive and they lose their value quickly. We traded it in for a Ford Expedition and it was a better choice. We paid over 90k for this SUV and didn't get anything close to that when we traded it in after three years of ownership. If you buy a Mercedes, buy one used.
expeditions are fancy as fuck tho. sat in a top trim and it had driver's seat massaging. that was back in 2012, no other entry level fullsize offered that.
Could you make vid talking about how to financilyy responbilly own a car. (as in how much should you spend on a car) Im 23 years old i want to hear diffrent opinions before i buy my first car. nice review BTW asalways thumbsup
Having owned a GL450 for 3 years of this generation, I can tell you that the Airmatic suspension is wonderful to live with...and the base V8 was so nice. Like 5.7 seconds to 60. V6 was like 5.9 seconds in testing, but having driven both, there's a much larger difference than the numbers suggest. I hope that's better, though, now with the 9 speed.
I'm glad to see that Mercedes didn't do what SO MANY other auto makers have done over the years since everyone started doing 3rd row seating in SUV's, and that is only making the 3rd row usable for small children or infants. I think that is so stupid. Kids do grow up and get bigger ya know. Plus not everyone has small children and since Minivans have fazed out the only choice we have now if you have several adults riding is suv's with 3rd row seating. The 3rd row takes up all of the trunk/cargo space for luggage on a long road trip and there a pain to CLIMB in and out of. And putting 3rd row seating in small compact SUV's is even more of a head scratcher to me. I miss the 90's when auto makers had FULL SIZE Minivans like the Ford Aerostar XLT, Chevy Astro, and the Toyota Previa. My parents had a 1994 Aerostar XLT and we took long road trips all the time with no complaints of leg room, cargo room, and it even came with "Electronic 4 Wheel Drive" which did really awesome during our Colorado winters. But it seems that Minivans are slowly starting to make a come back again. I wonder if Ford will bring back the Aerostar.
I have always been a Lexus and Toyota person owning many land cruisers, RXs, GXs, Toyota Avalon, Camry, minivan, Lexus LX, Toyota Highlander, I'm probably missing a couple. I have also owned around 6 different Mercedes 4 SUVs a convertible and an S-class sedan. I have to say there is nothing better than a Lexus or Toyota.
It's time for you to do another Rolls Royce Phantom, and your new collard shirts look really great..... When you are the best you have to look like the best. Your reviews are so incredible, they are the only place on CZcams that a person can REALLY learn about cars they are curious... YOU HAVE NO EQUAL on CZcams... Thanks Kyle !
This new naming system is pointless. I can see them renaming the M-Class to GLE, but what the hells up with GLS? The GL isn't a 4 door version of a coupe(like the CLS). It used to be simple, G was the flagship SUV. GL full size SUV. M(GLE)mid sized. GLK compact. GLA Sub compact.
It's because you live in the US so you don't have all the models but they have the GLE coupe which is a competitor to the X6 so they changed the Amal to GLE SUV as the coupe is based on it, the names done mean anything really they are just differentiated for thier own suitability as are Audis and BMW's
+David Lennox what about the G-Class? That's the big bad Mercedes Benz SUV(not physically, but where it sits in the lineup). And what about the CLS? CL has been renamed the S coupe. This whole naming system is a cluster fuck rn.
I always remember someone from Mercedes Benz saying exactly that they don't like big SUVs but they have to make them to appease to modern customers. Especially the Mercedes GL (GLS from 2016-), it is just lazily upsized and has an awkward rear with none of the classic Mercedes design but it was made because people like big SUVs and all those people would have gone to the competitor's cars unless Mercedes made their own huge SUV. Kinda like BMW X6, weirdly some people with more money than sense of aeshetics or brains keep buying them so Mercedes Benz had to make their own Mercedes GLE to get their share of that market segment.
Can you make a video of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Premier? I've been wanting one but I normally check your videos first before I go and look. Thank you
Hey, great vid. Love your channel and have done for the past year. Can you do a tour of a top spec Mitsubishi Mirage G4 please and maybe a test drive? Chrs!
After all these years of filming you'd think Kyle would have his own camera man by now. Instead of going through so much trouble having to get in and out of the cars to run back n forth to the camera to move it from one place to another.
Who designed Wheels rims? I don't understand...But I was satisfied when I saw it with my own eyes at dealer shop. Actual car has a good designed wheels.
+GDZLLR I disagree I had the opportunity to drive a 2011 Ford Ranger whenever I take a road trip (my road trip vehicle) and when I'm driving at night time the fog lights help dramatically, almost all my cars I've ever owned they had fog lights, but the rarely even worked. My Audi A6 fog lights don't work, my first car (Honda Civic) they had plastic fog lights so they just broke. Lol.
It is true that fog lights are useless unless you have really shitty headlights. All fog lights do is light up the front 10 feet of the car which the headlights already do. Driving in pitch black, headlights are usually enough unless you are hauling ass in the mountains or straights, in which you need a further sight distance.
I love your videos. I own a GT350, Town Car and F-150. Thinking about trading the truck in for a GLS450 or a new Navigator. Which one would you go for and why?
Hi Kyle! Do you plan on coming to Illinois again anytime soon? Because there is a Volvo dealer in Oak Park where you may be able to video there new S60 Polestar.
Despite its multiple offroad assistances and the low-range gearbox, I don't think the GLS has real off-road capabilities. It is still a very handsome SUV though, since its debut.
That's 68,700 msrp the dealer bumps it to 78 to 80 thousand, I know I test drove one and decided to go with the the platinum Cadillac Escalade. It drove like a soccer mom vehicle. 6.6 seconds and its lighter than the Escalade that's 6.4 seconds zero to 60. The entire buttons on the command screens are cheap looking and the feel cheap as well. The seating feels pretty comfy. The running boards are not retractable and the navigation is an upgrade. It's way to overpriced for 80k. Glad I got the Cadillac instead.
Interesting, I'm curious though, how does the Mercedes compare to the Dodge Durango dimensionally?? Obviously it would not compete in the same class, but I read that they were related.
my mom got this car a few weeks back and it's the best vehicle we've yet to own. It drives like a yacht, holds literally everything, and is the best option for a full size luxury suv.
Man... those rims are ugly af lmao
They are.
ikr
Looks like GTI wheels on a GLS.
Toyota Rims
They look so plastic
What happened to when you would start up the car... I'm disappointed because that was my favorite part and I'm sure it was a lot of other people's favorite part... Sigh
To be honest, I completely forgot to do it on this one. For certain vehicles, I'm trying out a shorter, more quick hitting format so I can get videos uploaded faster. I know :) I'll be sure to include that in all of the future "Test Drive & Review" videos, thank you for understanding!
+Saabkyle04 GREAT! your awesome Kyle been here since you reviewed that 2002 BMW 7 series
I really appreciate that my friend, thank you!! Have a great day!
+Saabkyle04 thank you saabkyle
Who designed those rims? Fired.
I agree, it's atrocious. Almost criminal.
i agree they make the suv look ugly
Mercedes does this so you pay several thousand more for nice rims.
+Garrett McKie Exactley they purposley make them look uglier than than the GLS with more options, so you pay more for it
I like them
The rims look like they belong on a Toyota Camry
Do not talk about my Toyota Camry. Talk Foolishly, receive comeuppance!
aeperformance48 fr
Camry master race
The screen integrated with the dash board always looks better, I know it is the new trend among automakers.
An interesting trend for sure. Chevrolet is doing it a lot too now, not sure what I really think about it yet haha. It's different that's for sure!
Everything looks really good except those wheels. Blugh!
John Doe o
They have other wheels..those are the cheap ones .
my dad has this car is so awesome, lighting package, different wheels, glowing star, running boards, etc
You probably have the sport package with adds different wheels. My parents have a Lexus LX, Mercedes SL, and an S Class.
Jack Z Not really, rich is a salary 50mil +
Jack Z You know that “middle class” exists, right?
Jack Z Yes, but that doesn’t make me rich.
NorthAmerican Auto ya niggas like 11 years old stfu
Awesome SUV! Mercedes does an awesome job making these. Build quality, styling and features are just awesome! That's why I love Mercedes so much. Thanks for uploading and don't forget, you're awesome!
At first I hated the design, but now the more I look at it, the more I love it!
Very good job, Kyle ! I simply love alle your car reviews, they are all reallyTOP 👍
That white GLS 450 is my favorite Suv and I'm willing to lease one for 3 Years
The GL has always been one of my favorite vehicles on the road (My aunt has a '13 GL450) and sadly I like that one much more than the new GLS, its quite disappointing
I hate how they replaced the twin turbo V8 with a twin turbo V6
No.. Not at all the same car
+John Doe definitely not the same car. Especially the inside and the new front end looks terrible. It doesn't feel as Mercedes esq as the old one
Love your videos! It was such a relief that this was the only video to be in a different format.... I've been watching you since like 2010 when u had ur Genesis Coupe! Keep up the great work
Thank you my friend!!
love this new quick review, don't get me wrong i like your long format but let's be honest, not every car needs a 40 minutes detailed review. As for the car, XC90 seems to make a lot more sense to me
Hey saabkyle I've been watching your videos for such a long time know since your wildfire and family dealership start ups. I still love watching your videos! Keep up the fantastic work Kyle!
Those Rims make this SUV Look like a 2010 Benz
This guy does the best reviews for luxury SUVs
That's quite innovative for Mercedes to have the right front seat to move forward by itself when ever you fold forward the second row right seat so that way there is more space to get in the third row. I say 'innovative' because you can expand the interior space without having to expand the exterior length of the SUV which would make parking it harder. Those rims are the base package.

+Saabkyle04 my mistake I thought you were referring to the larger versions of the escalade or navigator
They actually redesigned it in 2012 getting rid of it’s Chrysler r
The pre refresh ones looked way better then the refreshed one.
I built this car! I work for Mercedes Benz in Tuscaloosa!
CHANGE THE RIMS IF ITS YOU
Rims are good! Looks nice! Good job!
Aaron Gregory Cool! I have a friend who works there too!
Thank you for building my GLS!
Do you also make gls for europe?
My family has had a 2007 Mercedes GL 550 and they're a bitch to own. Beautiful vehicle but the maintenance is excessively expensive and they lose their value quickly. The UK is a far better place to own a German car unfortunately for you
Ford Expedition xD
ford expeditions are really good too
expeditions are fancy as fuck tho. sat in a top trim and it had driver's seat massaging. that was back in 2012, no other entry level fullsize offered that.
Garrett McKie do the maintaince urself you dumb wop
You dont have to put premium gas in it because a test was done and regular is the same premium octain and my Mercedes runs just fine on regular gas!!!
What a concise video that was very comprehensible. Good job!
My dream Mercedes SUV! Terrific job bro.

Great car. I reviewed the 350d back in April, had a press car for five days. Great family car. Price incl options approx. 100K USD.
Beat car ever in suv . I halve GLS 350 grand edition diesel. Superb. Merc is on top. Rims are fantastic. I would recommend this car to everyone one.
Holy cow!! Kyle was just in my hometown! Sweet!!
Wow! New video just day after day.
This is one nice SUV, I just looked at the E Class, which is a nice car, but if I were to choose an SUV it would certainly be this one.

John Doe nope just a small loan of a million dollars ._.
It's a nice three-row crossover. A Brabus-tuned GLS450 would be a real sleeper.
i was trying to find the key fob the whole video..
I dont know whats wrong this looks just fine! At least better than levante
Kyle, please more Hondas! This was a very nice video by the way :)
It's time for you to do another Rolls Royce Phantom, and your new collard shirts look really great..... When you are the best you have to look like the best. Your reviews are so incredible, they are the only place on CZcams that a person can REALLY learn about cars they are curious...

I have the GL450 with nice rims and all packages and it such a good car
as always best reviews of cars from saabkyle04
this car is really beautiful ♥♥
Love these shorter reviews
I prefer the shorter format for vehicles like this. Good video!
Can you please do a video on the latest cayenne, your last video of the porsche cayenne is 5 years old, Thanks
Great review !. thanks for your time ! subscribed
Hi, Kyle! Once again, a wonderful review
Notification squad? 😜
Welcome! :D
Do a video on the GLS63AMG :) Keep up the good work!
Aside from those wheels, I kinda like the look of the old one better than the new one. We just tested a 580, and I think it's a little bland.
Good Video, nice Infos, decent Editing...ur channel could be the next big one
This is cool! I work at the assembly plant and I helped build this car!
A shame they chose those rims imo, personally i don't think they suit the car
OMG 😱😱😱 he finally reviewed it. awesome
Please do Mercedes Benz GLE63 AMG Coupe
Thanks to your review I've just got Gl63 AMG
This new naming system is pointless.

+John Doe wouldn't that mean the CLA would also get renamed?
+bmwmsport11 ur dumb tbh. Learn and come back
can any one tell me what is MB Tex for the interior of this car?
How will it do offroad? My dad owned one ( '08 GL450) for 6 moths, and it was a headache
off topic but pretty sure this was recently added to Gtaonline
Thought i was the only one that noticed lol
Is it the XLS?
+cameron berry yea
+Cameron Berry No Are you blind It Clearly says GLS stupid
+Nruthya Shakthi Students we are talking about gta honey

Hey, great vid. Love your channel and have done for the past year. Can you do a tour of a top spec Mitsubishi Mirage G4 please and maybe a test drive? Chrs!

Hmmm, I don't get those wheels, lol. You'd definitely have to look at the optional ones they offer, because those ones...

정호일 arogato mr robato
Kyle can you put your hand on the 2017 Nissan armada I would like to see the third row space Thanks

That's a perfect luxurious car for a mom that has to take car of the whole family.
I just really love the designs of Mercedes suv's what do you think about it ?
+Saabkyle04 do you still have your 1995 Buick Roadmaster and do you still have your 2007 Lexus ES350
Hey kyle i have dying to see a gle63 review please make one
Hi Saabkyle! I'm a fellow car fanatic just asking if you could do a 2017 Lincoln Navigator review?
It's nearly $70,000 and it doesn't have fog lights?
Fog lights are basically useless to the driver.. I get the feeling that they are produced just to blind the other cars on the road
Lol.

albert7139 fog lights? nigga with that much cash being spent on the car u better be able to see the future
albert7139 It's inside the LED lights, Audi does it too but Audi calls it All weather light
You should do a review of the Toyota Landcruiser v8
Kyle, you should review the Maybach S600!
Can you do a review of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Cabriolet?! And keep up the good work! :)
I love your videos. I own a GT350, Town Car and F-150. Thinking about trading the truck in for a GLS450 or a new Navigator. Which one would you go for and why?

i cant wait 2 have this car.it cames in 2 month.
saabkyle04 pleassseee i beg you do a review on the 2016 audi r8. i really wanna know more about it? PLEASE REPLY.
@Saabkyle04 can you do a review on the Mercedes GLE 43 Coupe 2017 formally GLE 450 Coupe in 2016, they are the same thing just badges changed.
Hi Kyle! Do you plan on coming to Illinois again anytime soon? Because there is a Volvo dealer in Oak Park where you may be able to video there new S60 Polestar.
Unfortunately no plans at the moment, Volvo needs to send one for a week so I can shoot multiple videos on that beast!
why would you review the like the cheapest possible variant. Pls kyle, its what we watch the videos for... the options
I forgot to add then again that is why there is a premium to pay for this SUV over other bigger SUVs.
Hi Kyle, I love your videos. Please do the Jaguar F-Pace.
Despite its multiple offroad assistances and the low-range gearbox, I don't think the GLS has real off-road capabilities. It is still a very handsome SUV though, since its debut.
Hey Kyle love your videos. Could you do a test drive for 2016 Acura MDX?

Can you do a video of the Renault Megane Classic 2 sedan 2008 pleaze ??!🙏🏼🙏🏼
Interesting, I'm curious though, how does the Mercedes compare to the Dodge Durango dimensionally?? Obviously it would not compete in the same class, but I read that they were related.
