So if you've played a live gig, you've probably heard about in-ear monitors (IEMs). They're essential for being rhythmically tight as a band, but also great for introducing triggers and click tracks into your setup.

One thing I suggest you do, to make it more easier for the FOH guy, is getting a 16-point XLR patchbay (XLR females on the back end, and XLR males on the front end), that way there's less risk of digging through the black spaghetti and plugging the cables to the right outputs, and it makes the workload more fast and smooth.
