    This is always a problem for me. I have used several techniques that have worked all of which you mentioned. Thanks.

    Great video my friend. I like the idea of putting all your Discus in a New Tank at the same time.

    Fish will be fish… dogs will be dogs… heck ants will be ants and all try to workout the natural order of who is in charge… but usually when the choices have been made everyone chills out and does their part.

    Moving things around and finding a sweet spot in the tank for everyone to get along is not that easy. Sometimes I find it best to do as you said in the video and put all the fish in the tank at the same time. The more the fish the less fighting.

    This is an age old problem. These fish are gentle for thew most part but there is always that pecking order

    Great video and tips! Thanks!
    If you add 8-10 discus at the same time, would you get an ammonia spike?

      If you have a well-cycled tank No. I would however be very diligent about daily 25%% water changes for the first several weeks. This will ensure your water parameters stay where they need to be.

    I just move things around in the tank. Works every time.

    This really helps. My "Big Blue" looks like he is biting my new "Tiger." We have "Tiny" as well. She was first, then we added Big Blue. Tiny had been laying eggs but has had none hatch. We just introduced Tiger into our 125 aquarium, and Big Blue won't leave him alone. Tiger is showing signs of stress. The two fish our the same size. Tiger is eating a little and his most of the day. It seems when I come into the room Big Blue starts picking and biting Tiger. Please help! Should I get another Discus? Four would be my max since I have other fish in the tank.

    What happened to your odd colored discus pair spawn? Did they end up having babies? What color were they?

    • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
      @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto  Před rokem +2

      They did but the fry were very poor and now looking for another pair.

      @AQUATIC CONCEPTS "Bringing Water To Life" I'm currently in the same dilemma. I got a fry box and somehow they keep escaping the box. I got a better one and hopefully they'll survive

    I got 3 in a 40 gallon tank so the first one wont be lonely but since they got use to the tank the first one has been bullying both of them. 🤔🤷🏾

    I once had a group of around 6 once perhaps should have got more, anyway they were on offer at a fish store, they were extremely aggressive and attacked the weakest one until it died :( this continued until only 1 fish remained and we think he died of loneliness 🙄 ironic...

    Will this happen with tank mates? I recently started keeping discus. I put them on a previously stablished planted tank that had Corydoras and Neon and Rumy nosed tetras. The discus don’t mind the Corys but chase the tetras all day. After two days I moved all the tetras to another tank as I though the stress wouldn’t be good for either part. Any recommendations for that scenario?

    • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
      @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I have never had good luck with Neon Tetras. Larger Cardinals with give you the same look but no chasing. I went through this myself several years ago. Find larger more mature Cardinals and you will have a beautiful mixture. Good luck.

    its so crazy how all the fish kinda fight for that top spot kinda in the tank and sometimes the rankings will change and such lol Is there a way we can stop this or is this just how fish are? lol

    • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
      @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Are they Discus? If so how long have you had them together in the tank?

      @@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto yes they are discus I have like 10. One used to be first in line when I would feed now he doesn’t even care when I feed. Another one used to hide all the time and now he’s back in the ranking. Lol

      @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto  Před 7 měsíci +1

      That is Discus behavior the first year as they mature. They will grow out of it.

    • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto

      Yes! Unless they are beating each other up so badly one or both are getting hurt. At that point you have to separate them. Let me know!
