I've tested many cameras, and the Sony FDRX3000 comes up for ME at least, as the best travel action camera, and the best stabilised camera for vlogging. I like to walk around and make random videos, and this camera can do it all. I don't need to worry about keeping it steady, or the frame, because it captures it all.

Every single travel vlogger needs to see this video. Wind noises in travel videos are incredibly irritating. Also, that snap noise when closing up the tripod is very satisfying.

I will get one but they're very expensive, and as expensive as the latest GoPro.
And the GoPro has better stability
Too bad they have discontinued them. I've been a fan since they came out. My last one had the focus sensor fail. No way to replace it. Some good tips here.
You can buy a used one but since the discontinuation of these cameras the price has skyrocketed.

Hi, great camera, but it appears that the files on the Micro SD card, cannot be deleted when connected to the computer by the USB cable, they have write protect. The computer cannot remove this protection. Therefore the Micro SD card has to be removed from the camera, placed into its adaptor, and inserted into the computer for full access of the mp4 files

Hey! Great video! You mentioned it's not ideal for being in and out of water, but it did look quite easy to remove the front bit and chat and then put it back, so I'm just wondering what makes it not ideal and if I need to buy both this AND a gopro 7 for example? Would love any advice! It's for travelling also

No the lens are different size
I use this camera for mtb videos and in my oppinion it is still maybe the best camera. The stabilisation is not as good as the latest gopros but the 170° stabilized view angle with only a little fish eye effect, makes the camera unreachable. The design is indeed not ideal. I' ve drilled 3mm holes into the case where the microphones are and covered it with a muff . But the camera with the case is heavy and huge and the design is a disadvantage.

If the cover's only purpose is to protect the lens, why does it need a glass?
How long can you record before the camera turn itself off because it is too hot?

I have the same tripod but lense case is not available in India
be careful if you drop this camera it gets blurred very expensive to repair
6:23 it is useless though (too hot and you cannot adjust its volume levels), unless you find one with -xx db option. 6:40 128gb gives me 10h48min in 1080p@25fps

Sounds are lower in volume but I was surprised that I still heard everything clearly although slightly muffled with the case on. Great camera, worth the money. It's very versatile, only trouble I find with it, it's mounts from Sony are expensive, there's aftermarket ones but they're cheap plastic, not for use off roading or on a bike. Great video! It gave me some useful insights

I have this and bought a insta360 one r to replace my sony fdr x3000 but insta 360 one r really suck the video exposure is not spot on and most of the time overexposed and quality is not that great compare to Sony
Color wise is very saturated for insta 360 one r
Tried a GoPro, was frustrated, went to the Sony, and now have only one big worry. What do I do when, some sad day, it breaks. Buy a spare for insurance? Regarding huge chips, go with a battery pack. Cumbersome some times, but then you can shoot all day, edit all night. :)

this camera is getting more love than it deserves. I have it too but not liking it much: you can’t remove fish eye on camera, colors look old, slow mo is blurry and go pro much better, stabilization can be jerky. the shape factor can be good and bad and gopro squared looks more useful for onbody footage. recently bought fimi palm which is more fun and much cheaper (150).
You remove the fish eye by setting the viewing angle to narrow.
