- Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.

The fact that Nolan Arenado is staving off regression as hard as he is is very impressive, he really wants to keep himself around for the winning window. If he can keep it up, he might not even regress this year.
One thing with scouting is don’t get discouraged with a player if they start to move down the board. I’ve had generational players be number 1 until like 70%, drop to 32, then back up to 1 at 100%.

Cane, would love to see you implement a way to add some more fun personality to the players through different bats, helmets, gloves, etc. Think it would really be cool to give players new gear for big career moments, such as Jordan Walker’s gold glove. Or if a player hits a specific challenge within a game. Who knows, just a thought! Cheers

cane I did a sim of the franchise and Walker went crazy at leadoff. for multiple years he hit 40hrs and batted over 300. he was able to quickly developed into the high 90s without me adjusting him.

Mlb games are fun to watch but I love when u go to the minors and check out the youngster in the organization. I would say pick a prospect that u think has potential and spotlight that one no matter if its AAA or AA great series love your baseball content (even though in irl i hate the cardinals)
And by the way Cane this baseball stuff has been awesome. These series have been great. And I do think I like this one more because the pace has been sped up a little. Last series it would sometimes drag along.

I have a RTTS player on the brewers, we’ve made the playoffs all three years of my career. The past 2 we’ve been swept by the dodgers, my first season we won the World Series because LA lost in the second round and we never had to face them that year. I hate having to play the dodgers in the show… and in real life too
I haven't had much luck in avoiding them. They're just always there.
Personally, I'd love for you to play a game with Benny Matsumoto in double-A soon.
Fisher seems like the best choice with the #1 pick.

Has anyone noticed a correlation between which training you’ve selected vs sim performance? For example- in my experience, selecting the training that improves vision, discipline, and clutch seems to consistently give a better average, OBP, and slugging than other training programs.

Tim Locastro holds the record for most stolen bases to start a career without being caught at 29 set in 2021 so you would have gotten to 30 to break it

A tip instead of you batting with everyone. Can you just bat with 1 guy a game but show the game? I think it would help timing.
Hey just lettin you know, Walker is probably not going to be the power hitter you want him to be. He tends to be a guy that hits like .270-.290 with mid 20s homeruns. If I were you I'd definitely look to find another power guy.
Here's a two part question for you Cane who's your favorite draft pick so far, and which draft pick was actually better than you expected to be?
I would stay away from sp first round of the draft. You really need some high quality position player prospects. Other than Marino idk if theres anyone who is gonna be a real needle mover at the mlb level

I’d be surprised if Dodson is generational tbh, at 5’7 I personally wouldnt have him at 3B maybe an outfielder if he has good arm.
