boughtthis in 2009 gave it a cursory listen & filed it away w/no particular impact...heardher heralded but left me apathetic Let England Shake.......and discovered this album again last night..and listened to it start to finish 3 times in a row...just brilliant and it satisfies in such a real way that this disc jumped up into her best albums (and yeah she only did vox & lyrics..and nailed them both! Bravo.
@parsnip23x I have the same little amp she is playing. It is a Fender "twin" that runs on a 9 volt battery. It actually does have twin 2.5" speakers. The trick is the digital delay unit between the mic and the amp. Sounds ethereal.
I love how she does this. She can get her vocal effects and it probably all fits in her purse haha. It might be the only time I've seen her use a Fender amp too.
I wonder how this was recorded, did they use overhead mics for room/ambience or did they've got another hidden mics outside the picture that are plugged to a mixing desk? Sounds pretty natural and lofi for a soindboard but pretty clear and clean for an audience mic recording. Im confused rn

Interesting guitar tuning makes the whole thing work. This basic chord progression really wouldn't work in regular tuning.
Bit faster it could sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks
guitar in this song is so amazing that there is no need for other instruments. i dont really like that echo in PJ's voice
