And don’t forget: If you’re using a moisturizer with SPF, apply it like an SPF, not a moisturizer. This means using an adequate amount to cover your entire face, neck, and ears.
is it bad that when I use normal moisturizer I put it on my ears and neck aswell?
@@whatamidoinghere0no
or just use the normal pm moisturizer then put on ur sunscreen
@@whatamidoinghere0Actually yes because there's a thing called over moisturizing your skin. If you keep supplying your skin with topical ceramides and other stuff every single day there will come a time when the skin making its own oils would drastically decrease. Excess of everything is bad
what if it breaks you out? sweats off right away.
“Giraffey” 😅
Damn those "drugstore" prices tho 😭
Whyyyyy
I mean you don’t wanna get cheap and bad quality
@@sofiaelectra5014right but them shits r rlly expensive but i guess ur right lol
CVS always price gouges. My giant cerave cleanser is $20 at Ulta, $30+ at CVS.
@@coochiesl4yer696ik bro like wtf are they selling gold or something? 😅its just so frustrating how tf is this affordable like all those products could and should really be only priced as $7 maximum , and they call this affordable 😂
That's too expensive I bought a moisturizing spray with 4 dollars I don't see the point in spending 20 😅
Bro thank you so much, im a 15 year old boy and I have crappy skin but I didn’t understand what everything meant(moisturizer, cleanser, lotion vs gel, WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN!?). Your a lifesaver
Hey, watch the video from 'ali abdaal' about his skincare. There you get a great explaination in detail
good job for taking care of ur skin !
@@blue-variantX alright so my acne got way better (I’m also bulking rn so it should be worse). This is basically what I’m doing.
Cerave 2% salicylic acid cleanser and cerave suncreen/moisturiser ever morning
Washing with hot water
And at night I do just the cleanser
Washing with cold water
@@Idk-sg4hqmake sure the water is hot at night time aswell so your pores will open at make it easier to clean and don’t forget you physical exfoliaters
You should not wash with hot water, lukewarm water is best, that way it doesn't dry out your skin. Also, good on ya for taking care of your skin!! Not many boys I know do that, so it's quite refreshing. I'll drop my routine:
Morning
- Dermalogica clearstart foaming wash
- Dermalogica clearstart fizz mask (I don't use this all the time since it can dry out the skin if used frequently)
- Then Spf 40+ (I live in Australia so sunscreen is way more important here)
Night:
- Dermalogica clearstart foaming wash
- and then it's up to me if I want to do the fizz mask
Oh yeah, I also use a seperate towel to dry my face, and I just gently pat it so that I don't rub my skin too hard. I also use lukewarm water at night, and cold water in the morning! I swear, my acne has been sooo much better. However, I am still looking for some moisturiser and maybe exfoliator... potentially toner? Apparently three steps is what you need but my skin is very oily, so I'm not sure if I should moisturise. Should I do a 5 step routine?
@@Idk-sg4hq
it depends on your skin tipe and not the age. some may have bad hyperpigmentation so vitamin c is not a bad option (i use it myself and i’m 18) or if you have acne use retinoid at night an salicylic acid in the morning.
i have these light and dark patches all over my body, just one or two shades different, is it hyperpigmentation or something else? can't find it on google -_-
@@clouddog111 how you described it, i would say most likely yes. keep in mind i’m not a dermatologist nor i’m in medical school but i have quite experience with acne. so imo most likely yes. if it was on your face i would recommend niacinamide, vitamin c, azelaic acid but since it’s on your body i don’t really know what products should you use.
@@side-eye. thanks a lot! i can't go to the doctor, so i have to hunt on the internet XD
i was thinking of buying vitamin c for my face but idk what to use and they’re all expensive asf
@@shrek3854 i use from la roche posay. it is the more expensive one but my skin feels amazing after i put it on my face. it costs 45€ (don’t know how much it is in $). you can maybe try ordinary, loreal paris also has good ones. sometimes you’ll need to invest a little bit more money but i find that perfectly fine because you’re investing it in yourself in a useful way.
Boy my skin reacts amazing once it got used to the retinol! Once I got to get the purge. For like 3 months of cystic acne it was eating up my scars and fading my acne away.
I use a retinol too and it works amazing but its mostly used to help slow the aging process which is the reason he is saying you don't really need it as a kid/teen, but yes it works great with scars.
I’m 17 and have a really red face from my spots, how can I remove this? Does retinol help?
@@dawson3171try niacinimide and remember to hydrate your skin, calming it and soothing helps redness
@@dawson3171I heard that retinol isn't recommend for you if you're young. Once you're older retinol is an option. During the first few weeks retinol also tends to make your skin more sensitive and and break out even more for many people, but after your skin gets used to it that's when retinol shows its magic and many have said it's helped with their skin so much.
@@dawson3171 If you're picking at them, stop doing that.
Vit c and Niacinamide helps fade discoloration after the spots. Also, don't forget to use a gentle but lightweight moisturizer (use one for sensitive skin, without fragrance or denatured alcohol.)
Just a warning for the Cera Ve Acne Control- As a teen playing soccer I used it, and it boosted my hyperpigmentation from the sun, so just make sure to read smallprint warnings when looking for products (im still recovering 😭)
The way that Cetaphil and Cerave have the most expensive products in my country💀💀
@@revy6969shpiribaum
When teens had no skincare routine before 2010 ☺️ and just doing their little lives instead of focusing on aging. Best time. Except those who were dealing with acne, they had one.
You need to explain WHY a gentle cleanser is needed- because overscrubbing /using a foam cleanser can irritate your skin further and imbalance the ph of skin and cause more irritation and more breakouts!
Thank you! In a world now where there is a lot of emphasis on skin care/self care (that also sometimes borderlines on obsession), i think this is more appropriate instead for teens. My doct actually reccomended cetaphil for my oily acne skin (i had borderline cystic acne all alone esp sides of my face, cheeks and forehead were also hit). Wish i knew abt lotion with spf! I learned hard way what kind of spf my skin preferred but those all left a white cast on me
I'm 51 You are so right on the obsession on skin care But do start young glad you got it and are doing it some young teenagers don't do anything anything at all I appreciate your comment I use about the same routine minus the retinol retina sometimes include it my skin is very sensitive, What SPF do you wear I wear contact lens and mineral sunscreen is better for me but they both burn my eyes
I’m a teen and use vitamin c serum-it makes my face so glowy
Which vitamin c serum do you use?
@@zuezsz dollar tree
@@zuezsz if you want to use one, is just need to have a pump, not a dropper
@fern67 What skincare products do you use?
@@lui_br5599 what about cerave serum
Can you please do a routine for teenagers using cruelty free products?
I love you all the way South Africa 🇿🇦.
all i can say is THANK YOU SO SO MUCH
"you don't need retinol" girly my skin need it BADLY
You might need retinoids like adapalene and tretinoin but not retinol. Retinol does not help with acne that much but it does help a lot with aging skin which you do not need to worry about as a teen lol.
A retinol/sunscreen combo though sounds like a bad combination. Retinol makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight so use it at night. I’d recommended it only if you deal with hyperpigmentation after acne, otherwise differin gel would be better for acne
Thanks! This is going to start being my daily routine!
I am 13 and this is my skincare!!!
Morning:
Simple cleanser
Simple Moisturizer
Sunscreen 30
And lip balm
i use this exact routine but with the cerve facial cleanser in mornings with the cerve SPF and then at night i use panoxl with cerve moisturizer it works great!
Absolutely love your videos! Thank you for all the advice, I can't wait to finish my current skincare and start buying the goods!
I’m about to say something that seems crazy I learned it from Elise Myers dandruff shampoo for skin care I use a little bit of Noxzema dandruff, shampoo, sunscreen and lotion and I have amazing skin
Cerave is the best hands down for skin care ! I don’t have bad acne but I do get a bump here or there on my face but I just put the mighty patch on and the pimple gone, I did suffer with a light spot around my mouth and went the dermatologist and she gave me cream for it but when she recommended Cerave to me it changed my skin for the better so I recommend it to anyone who’s looking to start a skin care routine
Thank You Doc!!! Please more products & info on teen acne💕💕💕
Panoxyl cleanser is so underrated i’ve been using it since I was 12 it works so well.
Well I won't suggest anyone the AM moisturiser from Ceravé. Instead use the pm one and use sunscreen separately.
I love the voiceover.
So i have alot of teen nieces and am thinkng about putting skincare kits together for them for xmas so this helps alot!
CeraVe spf has pore cloggers so it’s not good for people with acne-prone skin
most people like pretty/preppy skincare brands me included so can you please make a more preppy/pretty skincare recommendation short/video
I almost screamed bc I had almost all of those except the salicylic acid cera ve cleanser but I had everything else before even watching this video AND I’m a teen and recently since I wait to buy new skin products until all of them are finished this combo has been 😽 and this video just reassured me that this is the combo for my skin so ty so much 💕
So helpful! Thanks
Also, you can order Aknesol too! It's 6-20€, and it's good for acne!
Wow the prices are unbelievable, unfortunately we don't get at that price
I get a bunch of hyperpigmentation around my eyes and forehead so I do need to use vitamin c serum (I only use it in the morning), but as a teen with acne and light/mild hyperpigmentation this is my am routine:
-1 cleanser
-2 toner
-3 vitamins c serum
-4 my acne treatment
-5 spf
-6 moisturizer
When I started doing this routine my skin has been noticeably more clear ❤ (I have dry skin and it has been pretty moisturized aswell)
Great thanks for this doctor ❤
My skincare routine as a 14 year old
Cervae Cleanser
Korean toner
Hylaronic acid from the ordinary
Nicinimide from the ordinary
Bubble moisturizer
Sry i don’t know how to spell half this stuff. It’s a little bougie for a teen but I payed for it myself so 🤷♀️
If you have Acne I highly recommend not getting the CeraVe sunscreen moisturizer. I used it for years and then ran out and just didn't get any and used another moisturizer without the sunscreen and my skin started to clear up rapidly until I got this again. I've heard many others have this problem as well.
Love your videos .Could you please make a video with a routin for rosacea sensitive mix and acne prone skin thanks a lot
That CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser works really well for me!
thanks for this ☺️❤️
Thank you my kind sir.
For my Granddaughter last Christmas (she was 12) I got her the Cetaphil gentle foaming Cleanser, Cetaphil Oil free moisturizer with SPF 30, pimple patches for when (if) she gets a pimple (it’ll train her from her 1st zit to not pick it lol) Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask (it’s green, smells minty and pulls dirt outta your pores like no other mask! Been using it for 45 years ❤, the miscella (?) water eye make up remover, small bottle (she’s 13 now and wears mascara 😭 She needs to slow it down lol) a pack of baby washcloths to wash her face with, they’re gentle on the face. Banana Boat lip balm with SPF 50! ABD a fun headband to wear when washing her face 😊 She loved it and feels so grown up!
You are so thoughtful. She will truly appreciate it at a later stage of her life❤
OMG I USE BOTH CLEANSERSSS AT THE RIGHT TIME 😍
Can you do one for mature skin please?!
Thanks Dr. Sugai 🤙🏼
POV your cousin had her own skincare company and all you have is her products name: KS essentials btw it’s kinda expensive
Didn’t know cetaphil had a hydrating foaming cleanser. Wow.
Am I reading this correctly? The routine in the video is:
AM - use a gentle cleanser > SPF Facial Moisturizer
Night - use Salicylic cleanser > Adapalene 0.1% retinoid > PM Moisturizer
Is this correct?
Thank you very much
Can you please do one for 10 11 on skin care
Can you please do a good prevention skin routine for extremely sensitive ezcema prone skin! 🙌 ive tried both CeraVe face washes, I had a slight reaction to the blue one😅
Tell I have extremely dry skin I have a dry skin condition called Sjogren’s and I always use a Niacinamide serum I had no idea that it actually affected the oils of skin!
i dont recommend using the cerave am moisturizer. it a- contains parabens, b- leaves an oily, white residue. (but the pm moisturizer is great!)
also don't come after me, yes im aware different people have different skin types and different things work for different people, just my advice. (i have oily, acne prone skin)
Yeah the am is terrible for oily skin
i have dry skin and it is possibly the worst moisturizer i’ve ever used. terrible whitecast, doesnt absorb, and it is very sticky.
I used it but now I just use it for my body cuz it's too oily
Can you give a skin care routine for teens with oily skin?
“Like these products by *gErAveE* “
I just realized I got all the stuff he wants us to get without seeing this video 😂
Can u do cruelty free version pls
Do you have a routine for a 30 yr old who didnt have acne until she turned 30 lol torn between my anti aging skincare and my pimple skincare
❤❤❤❤❤ loveeeee!!!!
If you have really dry skin like me, the acne control cleanser is really striping!! So beware!
If you have oily skin use a cleanser for oily skin
I couldn’t afford this as a teen
Please make one for 18+
Can you do an oily skin one plss
I use that salicylic acid in the morning and night
Not me using so much skin care, lol but ny skin is fine so it works for me ig
The Blemish Control one is about 6-7 $ where I live. Lol
Thank you for this. My teen swears she needs eye creams and cooling rollers and all that mess. We are faithful CeraVe users and will stick to that!
Cetaphil made me breakout 😭
that'll cost me +100$ who's gonna buy it for me
I have mid cheek lines. As a teen, I definitely need retinol. I’m going to start at 1% because it’s more effective than 0.2% or is anybody gonna change my mind?
ty
How is cetaphil affordable
Don't forget toner cus ut really helps
That spf moisturizer is sooo greasy i could only use it when i was on accutane cause my skin was so dry
Im surprised a dermatologist is asking teenagers to use an exfoliating cleanser everyday.
I use my salicylic avid cleanser once a week at most. That shit is strong and overstripping your skin can make any dryness, oiliness, or acne even worse.
Can you do one for tweens
idk but any anti acne with niacinamide constituents is not effective for me. so i go with only salicylic acid with tea tree oil only
Can you recommend some lip balms
GUYS IF YOU HAVE MILIA, THE TINY WHITE BUMPS THAT CAN'T BE POPPED, USE A PURE RETINOL CREAM AT NIGHT AND APPLY IT ONTO THE MILIA. I LITERALLY APPLIED IT IN A ROW FOR TWO NIGHTS ON MY MILIA THAT I'VE HAD FOR YEARS AND IT'S GONE. I GUARANTEE THAT THE RETINOL CREAM DID THIS (bought it from Woolworths it's a little bit pricey though). I also cleanse my skin each morning + night using cetaphil moisturising gentle cleanser, witch hazel toner and a moisturiser, but I'm 99% sure it was the retinol cream that did the work.
Do you know what percentage it is? And did you use specifically an eye cream retinol or just one for the whole face?
@@arrowundefined I used the "Number 7 Pure Retinol Night Cream." It can be used all over the face but it works really well for milia near the eye area, just try not to get it in your eyes as it may sting. I'm not sure what the concentrate level is of retinol sorry, but it worked super well for me. I definitely recommend it. It's worth the price
can i use cerave moisturizer and after use my own sunscreen? also what are some sunscreens that leave a matte - ish finish that yall know? the one i have makes my face super oily and moisturized which i assume is a good thing but i do have to wait for it to get a bit dry after 10mins so i can put on makeup
"Affordable prices"
Meanwhile all the reccomend products add up to around 90 expensive dollars 💀😭
You know how much is adapelene in my country? 47$!!!!!!!!!!
Cetaphil is also SO expensive
My face gets all red and itchy after I use cerave cleanser
What’s with the creepy voice-over in the video? Sounds like a guy in a white van offering kids candy. 😖
disagree
I had a hard time listening to that voice. 😂
The preppy teens rn Bcz they spent all their money on drunk elephant:
Prices in Canada be like 20 to 30 bucks gosh!!!
while teenage girls : DrUnK ElEPhant
Cereve isn't Cruelity Free just to add
I am a teen and I use vitamin C to fade my acne scars but now I don’t know if I should stop using it (it was working quite well for my acne scars)😅
How about a similar product list for 55+ year old oily skin?
Everything I used gave me acne and white heads on top of the black heads, in my wrinkles.
Please help.
Does it matter if its spf 50 instead of 30?
Bruh I was randomly already using half of these things
The nutrigoina or however the f u spell it milk cleanser works wonders and its only 11 bucks lol,
salicylic acid never worked for me as a teen, and i am allergic to chemical sunscreens.
love your smile!
I have that same cleanser 😂
Can i use cere ve SA cleanser instead of the first product or do your recommend the first product
