We sang this song 🎶 every day in Christian school when I was young. Love ❤️ it.
I write to you now hearing this song for only the 2nd time in 40+ years. And the last time in a church I requested it on Memorial Day for this reason for our vets...: This song broke up my church (as a young man) in the Viet Nam War. You see, we had an elderly man in our congregation that lost his only Son in the Viet Nam War, who gave his life to save others in his platoon. The old man would pay $100, and that was a lot of money then, for our congregation to sing it, every week if possible, in remembrance of his son. (and he’s not the only one to this day) just to hear this song in remembrance of his son. But times changed, politics changed, and we all knew the war was political and sending drugs to our country and weapons of mass destruction. The good protests, the bad ones, the caskets of our soldiers on t.v. daily...the violent police, (Kent State), and then folks never wanted to hear the words of this song unless they had lost Soldiers in the war. True. So this song broke up my church 😭... back in the day. As folks wanted to put the war behind them... Now I am honored to hear it once again... That you and you soon receive a $1,000,000 blessing . Priceless 🙏🏻
When I was a young boy in a Catholic boarding school in Australia, I used to sing this song with all the fervour I could muster. Then I grew up and joined the Australian Defence Force and went to War. Since then, fifty years later, I find it very difficult to equate the words "Christian, Marching, Battle and War."

Valid point @Koala63211. However, coming from a retired member of the U.S. Army, should we entrust the defense of our respective nations soley to unbelievers? I would note as well that my journey to Christ began in the Army, many years ago. The Lord can work in all situations and in all vocations.

Best story I ever heard was from my social studies teacher - in the early 80s he took his students to Jerusalem and things were tense at the time but the students started singing this really loud - it created quite the issue 😂😂😂

I love this song and I remember singing it when I was younger. I was sleeping and I just woke up feeling like I was in a fight against the devil. I believe God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will help me in this battle. I will stand strong and fight hard with God and Jesus.
