"In 3 years they're gonna be in the 3rd division, I guarantee you..."
11 months later... BOOM. This guy really knows what he's talking about.

speaking as a brit i watched the documentary and learned quite a bit i genuinely did not know USA and Canada did not have a system like the UK where a team can get promoted and demoted. It kind of doesn't sound great to me like the guy said lazy owners but more than that just feels stagnant all the same teams going against each other year after year seems a bit boring no real incentive no fight for survival or strive to climb and earn a place after battling against the odds like what wrexham have achieved.

Yeah we have none of this… our team can be out of any contention for the championship by half way through the season.. so you can imagine how hard it is to follow when you know you have nothing to play for!

In North America, we have a league-entry draft system that 'rewards' the bottom clubs with first picks of the upcoming talent (in fact the NFL draft was just last night). I live in Ontario and have followed the Premier League and EFL for many years, and much prefer the promotion/demotion system. But football/soccer over here isn't developed deeply enough to change the status quo.

Relegation and Promotion is a double edge sword. In rugby they keep postponing relegation in england, as they realised that they actually want people to invest in Rugby and not lose their homes and their investment because of a bad season. Irelands rugby regions don't have promotion and relegation and Ireland are the best team on earth at the moment. Relegation is so scary that teams completely shut down, play defensively for much of the season (by kicking) and it is proved to be bad for rugb as a spectator sport. This is why relegation keeps getting postponed.
He was litterally beggjng Ryan at the end there. Gets some dignity man ffs.
