- After multiple high-level matches and long hours of high-level Street Fighter 6, we were left with two big names in the FGC: Big Bird & Akainu. Watch these two titans clash with each other to be crowned as the ultimate Red Bull Kumite 2023 champion.
Is this the first major FGC tourney in Africa? Thats pretty cool.
No, as a South African fg player, there's been major Tekken tourneys here since 2017. This is the first Street Fighter one to my knowledge though.

The game has pretty great balance
the higher rated characters were the ones easier to use at the start of the game. No one really knows until its grinded out for a ton of hours. this game is still in its infancy and people are calling for nerfs. if anything it shows people dont know what they are talking about. just because someone is easier to play doesnt mean they are stronger overall, the people that played those fighters just peaked faster from a quicker learning curve.
The beta got rid of infinites and some other broken things.
Marisa is for sure top tier
So far a different character has won a different major event. Ken won CR, Blanka won CEO (as a an extra pick mind you) and Marisa won this. The meta is obviously developing so anyone calling for nerfs doesn't know what they're talking about.
Love to see black horses win.
Or being more realistic you can look at Buckler results (winrates, masters rates etc) to see who needs to be balanced. These tournament winnings mean nothing really because they were all hard sweeps by the winners, the player skill levels weren't close, especially here.

This game has some of the most beautiful animations I have ever seen from a game or even animated film. I can’t imagine how long it took bring all of this together! 🙂

Big bird my favourite player. This video is a masterpiece for Marissa play. I thought she was good but easily countable and started to lose confidence but Big Bird revived my favourite character!
yeah he mastered the easy mode character that requires zero execution, has normals with hitboxes the size of a house. When the game feels 'mastered' within a month you know the game lacks depth. What a pathetic game if this is all that's required to win a tournament

Lots of guys commenting how busted Marisa is but isn’t even considering that just maybe, the player is so skilled at using her that she’s even that good. Think about how many JP players there are versus Marisa players. If she was so dominant to begin with, shouldn’t we see more Marisa players out there ranking high in tournaments?

I watched NuckleDu another day against a marisa and i thought "wait, marisa actually has some good options, i wonder if a professional player would actually beat guile in this MU" and today i could see i was right, marisa is pretty good at the right handa
i really feel like Akainu didnt play against her properly in this match, Guile normally can zone her.. Akainu did well in the first rounds but after that he frequently walks himself to the corner where you never want to be against Marisa

Im not surprised, but great gameplay, this just shows how good of a player Big bird is. Just like Zangief, Marisa is not a top tier character, but in good hands she can be almost an unstoppable force, Snake eyes does this with Zangief.

@ultraheaven8968 Not denying her damage and pressure that are good, but just like any street fighter character she have weaknesses that put her in mid tier at best, every player study not just the character but study how others players use her. They will do the same with MenaRD's Blanka who won the tournament last week, it's just a matter of time

lol at people thinking marisa is top tier or super good now. Shes still mid tier folks. her anti airs are bad, her neutral is very gimmicky, and as people get better and get better at parrying and getting used to see phalanx and gladius, people will stop it.
Theres a reason why Marisa had NO representation at CEO like at all. Big Bird is ONE GUY and hes easily the best Marisa in the world right now.
It's about consistency, and marisa is not consistent enough to win with. No ones playing her except him for a reason.

everything is plus on block in this badly designed mess of a game, the fact she gets to negate drive impact because her moves break armor is totally busted. I hate playing against this character, I'd glad he won because now people will wake up to how busted she is
@@fwef7445you're literally straight up wrong. Sf6 has the most minus on block moves in decades. The majority of normals in the game are minus on block and so are the majority of special moves for most characters. Check the framedata.
