Great review. I’ve been looking at with and was leaning towards the Diana and your review has just confirmed it. I have noticed many bags claiming to be vintage Diana bags don’t have nice puffy quilting though.

As someone who has become a mum quite recently it would be great if you could share how a luxury bag lover sits with being a mum- do you keep your bags for weekend use or do you use them for a trip to the park / as a baby bag? I must admit I keep my chanel bags for date nights, but I would love advice on how I can incorporate them in a more carefree way into family life..

Glad to meet a fellow new mummy :) Tbh i reserve my luxury handbags for date nights or family events where i know we'll get some extra help with the baby - then i have the extra space & time to actually enjoy wearing an expensive (& usually more cumbersome) handbag. The only exception to this rule is my LV Alma BB which i take on more frequent, day to day trips with my baby - i love that it's light, durable, crossbody, easy to get in/out of. Generally i travel with only my essentials on my body (so a smaller bag) and i use a non-designer tote for all the extra items. This may be a bit unusual as i know some mums swear by a large designer tote like the Neverfull but personally i love that a cheap, fabric tote can be dropped and rained on and scraped accidentally without causing any stress. I find crossbody, scratch/water-resistant, light minis to be most compatible with running around after my baby :)

Great informative video as always! 👍 I have the medium Diana in black lambskin with the back pocket. I love the spacious back pocket which fits my iPhone XR easily, and I can fit so much in this bag - the same amount as a regular Coach Cassie, and yet it’s still relatively lightweight, which I attribute to the lambskin. I also love the longer strap which is perfect length for me as a crossbody. The only negative thing about the bag is that the lambskin does scratch easily, which prevents me from using it as an everyday bag. Yes you can buff out the minor scuffs easily, but it’s a nuisance to do this every day. Am contemplating a medium classic flap in caviar skin & silver hardware for my next purchase but refraining from pulling the trigger because this model contains three of my handbag deal breakers - short strap which looks awkward as crossbody, a near useless back pocket which can’t fit a mobile phone, and the second inner flap which annoys me to use on a daily basis (experienced from my Reissue 225). Still, I can’t stop thinking about the medium classic flap in caviar skin & silver hardware, especially with the gorgeous burgundy interior & lipstick pocket, and feel that my Chanel collection won’t be complete without a classic flap with burgundy interior. Against my own logic and better judgement, I know I’ll continue to obsess about this bag until I’ve saved enough money to finally cave in and buy it 🤯🏳 🤷🏻♀️🤪

Wow you're one of the lucky few with the rare Diana size with the back pocket and you've raised such a good point re external pockets (ideally) fitting mobile phones. Wise call holding off on the classic flap for its shortcomings...but yes i agree, somehow our heart always wins over our head in these situations! I love Coach too - my most used & abused bag for daily mummy life is a nameless Coach crossbody. I just purchased the vintage medium diana with the back pocket (brown lambskin with GHW) which prompted me to watch this vidoe. I'm glad you found the pocket useful. I haven't seen much with the outer pocket and happy to know that is a rarer find.

This was really good and the detail was great. I would like to add though that my Diana is the small in black lambskin and I do wear it as an evening bag, but having said that, I do agree that the medium in caviar is a much more casual look.
I looked at the prices of them recently and nearly fell off my computer chair. The last time I looked they were going for aud$2000 - 2500 and that wasn’t a long time ago, perhaps 3 years or so. I bought mine back in the early 90s and they were under $1000 brand new then. It’s certainly been a good investment.

Thanks, but I think luck had more to do with it. When I bought my Jumbo in 2013 it seemed like a huge amount of money at the time but now I am really kicking myself that I didn’t buy two. It just never occurred to me that in such a short time the price would more than double.
Literally just purchased a vintage quilted mini flap, I've been trying to decide whether or not it's a good investment and decided to just go with it since we only live once! I can just earn the money back, it was a pretty good deal and I can send it in to get the hardware re-plated. I think this will be the only one I purchase until I'm confident enough to invest in another one, which will probably be a while, but I'm only 21, so I'll just live my best life! XD
I just picked up a 26 year old vintage Diana with the back pocket. Actually the front of that model is different too.
The Diana is such a great bag. IMO it has the look of the Boy w/o the annoying boxy /sharp corners and loud straps. I think you'll really enjoy this one.

TBH i'm beyond boring - i moisturise with QV cream post shower, never wear makeup and i weaned myself off shampoo/conditioner after my baby was born. So i just wash my hair with hot water. Somehow the lack of chemicals has allowed my hair to be more voluminous/wavy which was a nice surprise

Since fashion is cyclical, it may be just a matter of time :) Although i must say Chanel's sky high retail pricing today and subpar quality wouldn't make it the same...
I bought a dupe of this bag after reading a book about Chanel and how she build her company. This is a beautiful bag but try to stay with bags that are cruelty free and don't use animals, thankfully other designer companies do not make them out of lambskin or calf skin, makes me so sad they do that.
