- Okay, this is the last character to translate for this. It took me a long while to get the motivation to do this guy. I legitimately hate playing as him and after translating his dialogue, hate him even more. I hope no one watches this because he doesn't deserve it.
sigh Alright, anyways. Hideaki's moveset is a pain to use. Half of his moves just have him flip out and are hard to control, like his R1 that has him slide around on his pot. His best moves are his most consistent ones, like his L1+Triangle counterattack. He also never stops screaming even as you play as him. I seriously get a migraine listing to it.
As for the translation side of things, his dialogue wasn't as obtuse as someone like Nobunaga or Matsunaga, but almost every interaction he has is someone saying something and Hideaki misunderstands it as another word and thinks they're talking about food. About 90% of the dialogue is just that same joke repeated, over and over again. And NONE of that works in English, because the words are very different, so I had to take a lot of liberties here. For example, Hideaki mishears "shrine grove" (杜 (mori)) with "edible seaweed" (海苔 (nori)). You see the problem? The problem is that shrine and seaweed do not at all sound similar in English. And since they KEEP reusing this type of joke, I have to come up with an alternative that keeps up the stupid mishearing joke every time. They think this joke is so damn funny they even have other characters do it, Motochika keeps mishearing things Hideaki says, mishearing National Gourmet Society as National Flying Society and National Smiling Society. It just...does not work in English. And it's not even funny, dammit! You really don't realize how much work the SB:SH translation had to do to make the funny moments in that game actually funny until you see how stale it is in Japanese for yourself. Egh...
Also, I have a personal hatred for this part in particular. I translated this part, then went on to the second stage and accidentally saved over the first one. so I had to translate and edit every bit of this ALLLLLL over again. Uggggggghhhhhhh... - Hry

Even so a had less stress playing as him them playing as tenkai. (Am i insane?)
Initially I thought turtle, but with the helmet horn and pot shell, I guess he could be doing a beetle motif?

Ugh, finally, you translated it. I keep on searching for this story's script along with the other characters, but it's nowhere to be found.
