A few weeks ago in May, I had 5 Cubs and a very noble looking Vixen lodging under my Shed. Unfortunately, one was born blind. She was the Character, but smaller and bullied by the rest. A more beautiful little creature hard to imagine . One day the 4 sighted and the Vixen were gone, leaving the blind Cub behind. I fed her and kept her going, but obviously She was very vulnerable and would not have lasted on her own. Once only, the Vixen and 1 healthy Cub appeared, the interaction between the Cub and her Mum was amazing. The Mum gently preened her, nibbled on her pads and had her snuggled under her snout. Then She was suddenly gone again after a few hours for good. Like She was checking on her weakest one last time. Amazingly, I found a Sanctuary 3 miles from me, specialising in wild Foxes (40 there) , so after a couple of very nervous days, caught her and got her there. Now she is safe and secure, with lots of company and will have a good little life. I won't forget her. Nature is beautiful and harsh.🇬🇧
