Zach's drumming feels like it's not about precision, but about willpower. I watch this video like as part of my morning wake up routine because this guy's drumming gets me hyped to be alive. I don't think he did anything with Volta as a whole, just Omar's solo stuff if I remember correctly. I think it's cool that Travis Barker is playing with Cedric & Omars new band Antemasque. Travis despite his Blink 182 phase been in a lot of diverse groups. The Miley Cyrus, Flamming Lips & Ariel Pink collab was a nice surprise. I like their song Tiger Dreams.
Seeing this video by chance years ago is what made me listen to Death Grips for the first time. Now can't stop listening to them, my all time favourite band tbh. Easily most revolutionary band so far this millennium, each member is a musical visionary
His drumming sounds all over the place to me. But hey, when you're popular and good looking of course people are going to say you're the best at anything you're good at.
I love Death Grips. But with all due respect to Zach he is neither good looking nor really famous. Everyone here is commending him on the basis of his evident skill.
The only drummer of his speed and stamina who plays with such tenacity. Anyone else playing at this speed just sounds like a drum machine, whereas Zach sounds something like a percussion elemental.
There's always a moment you're thankful for CZcams. This video fits the bill. You may not may not be a Grips fan, but this is pure genius, that's undeniable. You see how much Hill's playing advances the primitive, raw nature of DG's music, especially in tracks like Full Moon. One of the best drummers of this time.
