    Seems like these companies couldn’t care less about nitro monster trucks and cheapen them out, then sell at max profit.such a shame. As a teenager I had a tmaxx 2.5 with a sirio .18, a traxxas revo with an o.s .18, a tamiya terra crusher, and a team associated mgt. the tamiya was the only truck that was junk, awful thing it was. My traxxas trucks though, I jumped over sheds, ripped it on the grass and the street, and beat the crap out of them and never had one problem. Same with the team associated, not one issue. Seems the new Savage, and the new Kyosho USA-1 nitro monster trucks all have MAJOR issues straight from the factory. Incredibly disappointing to see these companies slap a product together that you can’t run for a couple tanks without breaking. Rant over. Awesome video either way brother!

    I don't really have many problems with the plastic spur anymore. Excessive heat is what seemed to kill them, but if I run the engine a bit fat never really have the problems. I think the heat just did a transfer through things. And also I think a clutch spring maybe .8 or .9 that grabs quicker with these high power engines helps with heat too. LRP 32 for example.

    The „new“ version of the Nitro Savage shouldn’t be named as GT6 ,but as DGV ->Downgradeversion…In my opinion the old version many years ago,named as Savage X „SS“ was a lot tougher due important upgrades like the steel spurgear and so one..😐
    Anyway,the video is epic 😍
    My Savage XL (2014 edition) is really close to be ready for the first start,I’m serious hopping to have some more luck in respect of his realibility 🤞 One of the things which I was forced to change was the crappie SF-1 trottle servo because it wasn’t able to open trustable the carb,sometimes it had fully opened,sometimes not..What a shame!!!However it would be irresponsible to thrust such servo ,because it if decides to fail,while the carb is opened it could means a dangerous runaway with catastrophic consequences 😵
    It’s in fact unbelievable how much I already spent on my Savage Xl rebuild project although It hasn’t moved by himself lol 🤭

      A couple of years ago HPI went out of business, they have not been able to withstand the competition from traxxas, arrma and others and now they come back with this trash... selling it at very high price. So disappointing. Good luck for your build, hope to see it running soon.

      I have 3 savages, my first was a savage x 25, i also have a Flux and i was really excited about hpi releasing a new nitro savage so i did not hesitated to spend 800$ for this truck, for this crazy price i was expecting something better, a steel spur gear, better servos, same diffs as the flux and why not aluminium shocks and pipe and if not at least a reliable truck. The savagex is a completely different animal which is difficult to compare with another type but it is one of the best despite the small flaws that this model has the new model of spur gear is really a problem a good old model with double friction disc and metal gear now difficult to find is best it is very important not to screw the spur too tight that the discs do not slip otherwise the transmission explodes I suggest lubricating the gears inside it helps me for mine I have a lot of experience with this model also add some locktite just below the engine mount not just on the screw

      I've always been a fan of the savage, bought my first (the one in the second part of the video) in 2006, it was a .25, it wasn't perfect but could be improved and at the time there were few choices. The problem is that this one is sold for more than $800!!!!!! For this price, small quality or design problems become unacceptable. Thanks for the tips! i will add some locktite below the engine mount and some high pressure grease in the tranny

      N'utilisez pas uniquement de la graisse pour roulements dans les roulements à sens unique Believe me, I've been used to it since 2004, just grease for the bearing, it's not enough, try to periodically oil the gears inside the transmission, if possible, use a two-piece transmission box, not the model with access from above. made of three pieces that have a tendency to loosen on the main chaft this seems to be a detail but this is one of the problems that hardly anyone cares about that's why it breaks 50% of the time that's the reason and that's why it happens again

    • @TastyBRC
      @TastyBRC  Před 2 lety +1

    Wow lots of issues. 🙁 Hopefully you get them sorted and get it running again. I'd recommend getting a thicker engine plate. If you watch the nitro RC nerds savage videos he goes through everything wrong with the savage in amazing detail including stripping many many plastic spur gears just for science. The spur gear is actually fine. It's the engine plate bending or flexing that is the problem.

    • @TastyBRC
      @TastyBRC  Před 2 lety +1

      You are right, the engine plate is slightly bent, if it wasnt the case the plastic spur gear would have survived but a steel spur gear would have been ok.. i will order a innovative rc 4mm engine plate, maybe a thicker chassis (a bit pricy) Ive heard of nitro nerds but cant find the channel 🤔
