Thanks! Just did these and felt great!
The series is 👏 🙀
I can’t wait to give these a try.
These are great, I work out at home and love my dumbbells, thank you!
Great content as always! If Alex can slow mo his yo-yo tricks that would be even better!! Leicester, England.
Those yo yoing skills are on another level
Same thought :D
love when he puts the vids of his son in seems like a great dad
0:26 : I don't see him pick them up off the floor
insta: Meadowsgang48

Workout:
1) Floor Press- 3 x 8 reps
2) Dumbell Smash Press 3 x 8-10 reps
3) Pullover 3 x 10-12
4) Floor Fly 3 x 15
5) Push-up 1 or 2 sets to failure
Thanks Miguel,I wrote these in my log book!
Thanks! Cut and pasted to notes. Really like this workout.
Thanks Miguel
John is already missed immensely. His unrivalled information will live on forever 💪
Most underrated channel
he’s a good teacher
Yea with clean and clear explanations for all level of viewers
I concur! 🧐
R.I.P.
I really appreciate John for all these instructional videos he did. He may be gone but these videos will keep his legacy going.
Came for the yoyo tricks, stayed for the workout
Love that you threw your son a plug in there. Great dad.
I haven’t benched in almost 8 years- ever since a terrible injury while benching. Been doing floor DB presses ever since. Though I get a lot of sideways glances at the gym from people who don’t seem to understand their benefits. I find it forces you not to overextend yourself and is better on the joints, tendons, and ligaments.
absolutely. Much harder to get injured using dumbbells.
I barely get activation from floor dB press but my brother on the other hand does maybe I’m doing em wrong
@@solar9873 try taking your triceps out of it
@@ladev91 ill try it out for my workout today
@@solar9873 yeah, your triceps are probably taking over while doing it. Put all your focus on your chest and pushing only with chest. Same when your doing back. You wanna try to remove your biceps from the equation when doing back.
Someone needs to make a compilation of John meadows saying "Alright hi everybody John meadows here!"
Man I miss John. ☹️
Makes me glad to know that the same chest dumbbell exercises I've been doing a Pro recommends as well
Just imagine having John as your coach , his knowledge is unreal , his form is always spot on , the best I've seen from any body builder , and above all they way he presents himself , chilled , calm , and generally just a lovely guy 👍 would love to hit the gym for a workout with this man 👏👏
Alot of things I've incorporated from John like cluster sets, partials and/or holds when you already feel dead, and various other self torture tips scare me, but "Around the world" indoors is the scariest thing I've seen here 😨
haha!!
I love using dumbbells on chest day along with push ups that is all I need right now until the gym opens again.
1) Floor Press- 3 x 8 reps
2) Dumbell Smash Press 3 x 8-10 reps
3) Pullover 3 x 10-12
4) Floor Fly 3 x 15
5) Push-up 1 or 2 sets to failure
Wow! Glad you mention that about the chest flys. I stop doing those on my incline bench whether straight or incline. I'll stick with the floor. Those were killing my shoulders. We used to call them hugging a tree. I never liked those. Thought it was just me. Thanks!!
Thank you for this series of dumbbell exercises. Bicep, tricep, shoulder, back and now chest.
This is fantastic. I can do these at home. Not to difficult for a repeat beginner old guy.
I'm so glad that I found this channel. I started to work out again, at home of course due to the pandemic, I got minimal equipment and not a lot of money. So... I can't really afford to get myself a fully working home gym. You can only imagine how happy I was someone showing me these exercises. Thank you so much for these videos.
Great exercises!! I have a few aches and pains ( I’m sure we all do) and I just appreciate how injury conscious Sir. John Meadows is.
Yes John, yes! DB Leg workout next, please! People say Bulgarian Split squats and lunges and whatnot should be enough but I'd really like to see the way Mountain Dog does it!
I do miss barbell squats with not going to the gym these days but I do have a good set of adjustable dumbells with a set of resistance bands. BSS are one of the best exercises for isolating the quads but I would love one or two more leg burning quad dominating exercises to add to my workouts.
Stationary dumbell lunges give my quads the burn of their life
Bader Al-Ahmad yeh did a burner set of 120 body weight lunges today and can no longer walk
DB deadlift , goblet squats , lying hamstring curl , glute raises , calf raises , good mornings , sumo squat , lunges forward / backward , kettlebell swing , ........
Freddie Lewin 120? My legs start are on fire after 15 slow and controlled reps
Every day i learn. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️
Tomorrow is chest day, definitely gonna try these out. Keep up the great content.
Hope you enjoy!
Great work my man as always.
This is basically my home chest workout routine, minus the Pullovers which I've never been a big fan of.
I absolutely love Hex pressing especially on an Incline. I agree with you on the flys too. You did the floor flys 100% correctly. I feel that dumbbell flys are in the top 5 of the most botched gym exercises. Keeping constant tension with a good contractional squeeze is key.
I have no idea why people feel the need to touch the dumbbells together.
John’s dumbbell only workouts are a veritable goldmine. Absolutely awesome. Gyms are still not open in my state. These workouts have been a lifesaver! Thanks for all the incredible content John. No one can compare to you, seriously!
Very nice on the YoYo. In the age of video games, this is a lost art. Well done.
0:41 the exact exercise my PT (who’s a lifter) suggested for shoulder protection, even down to the wrist angle. For even more shoulder protection, you can put elbows down to 45 degrees. Thought it’s worth mentioning. The reasoning is that the deep portion of this lift is when the biceps tendon at the shoulder is stretched under the most tension, and at greatest risk of strain. Floor prevents you from going deep.
When he says alright, hi everybody while he's wearing the shirt, is a trip
You need more recognition! I love your videos, I always watch Athlean-x, Ryan Huminston, Jeff Nippard and Simeon Panda
Godspeed John ! Wish I could have lifted with you ! Great videos! 🙏🙏
Thanks John! Like these ! I’m 65 and I don’t like the stress on my elbows and shoulders! I like to do a lot of reps!
The chest press with the dumbbells together is an awesome addition to my workout, and really targets my inner chest. I did them last Sunday, and the soreness is almost gone.
I get more chest activation from dumbbells because I tend to be more of a tricep bencher on a barbell. The dumbbells allow me to come across the plane and get a good squeeze. And like John said, I can position my hands at that 45* angle and hit the chest more.
Nicely built, well packaged, great function.
This video is so helpful John and team. I really needed this knowledge your the man!!! ......🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it
This is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for!
Definitely my go-to ,for inspiration ,and something... unorthodox RIP Brother ❤🙏🙏💪
Does anyone else come home and say “Alright hi everybody” or is it just me 🤔😂
Lol
hes right about the dumbbell chest flies. I was using too much weight and doing shaddy form and got my first rotator cuff inury at 16. made me realise how much i took working out for granted. still healing.
I just type in a muscle, and a equipment type and John always comes up. Thanks John.
Miss you MountainDog. Thank you for everything you've taught us, and I'll be passing this down to my son.
THANK YOU
We miss you John
Will always be the best online coach 🙏
Another timely effort john . My chest thanks you brother. Just what I needed . Greetings too from Melbourne Australia where we are in stage 4 lockdown!
Hi, Mr. Meadows, it's Steve in Upper Arlington, age 67. I've watched many of your videos and applaud your no-nonsense, old-school methods. I'm a latecomer to the gym who wants to eventually compete in Masters Physique, so it's a waste of time to wade through all these newfangled techniques promulgated by Millennials who have been training a couple years. I hope I have the good fortune of meeting you one day.
Great video. You’ve inspired me to get off my arse and start training again! 🙌🤪
Props to Brett for hangin with John every damn time! Hobo ex banker for the win! 💪🏾
John Meadows = A wealth of bodybuilding knowledge.
I always learn something from your videos. Thank you mate!
These dumbbell only workouts are amazing, they don't take too long and they work!
I'll pick 1-4-5 after incline press. Thank you.
Mountain Dog is like the Bob Ross of Body training...
Good guy, I see why so many miss him.
The hardest part of doing dumbell floor exercises is getting in position with the dumbells. I built a couple box stands to hold the heavier dumbells so I dont have to strain my delts getting into position.
Hi John in lockdown again over here and the dumbbell only workouts are a lifesaver.Just finished the chest workout in our lounge before the family stirs and that flat dumbbell fly is a knockout. So thanks again John for providing such great home exercises. Best wishes Jim Harrison. Cheshire UK.
I've been waiting for this one! Only legs to go!!!!! Bring it on. Thank you also for this!
These guys: Tired after 30 pushups
Military guy: Never wants to do a pushup again after doing 1 million in a year lol
Love your videos man you've shown me a lot that I can do at home with my weights with no access to a gym. Keep up the good work!
Was just away to do my home chest workout. I’m gonna try this workout to switch things up!
Numerous injuries prevent me from using a bench. These routines are perfect
RIP john.. you are a good man
That shirt is 🔥🔥Mr Jedi, junior got them skillz on the yo and great tips as always 👍
On the floor presses when you have the dumbells touching, roll your fists inwards so that the "punching surface" of your fists are facing each other. The squeeze will be different and more intense.
Great workout John. This is perfect for me as I don’t have a bench at home. Thank you so much 👍🏻
Those dumbell pullovers absolutely killed my chest. Thanks john
That's great workout! Thank you
❤️ awesome thank you
Your the man 👍🏻 🇬🇧 great video
Also a great dumbbell move for a great pump for the upper and inner chest is a straight arm front raise but lifting the weight up diagonally across the body so the dumbbell is at the opposite shoulder height, a "cross-body front raise" it's great to do after your heavier benching to get a really nice pump and burn in the upper and inner chest
Thanks John! Hit chest today.
Your presence is missed, but your vast knowledge and kindness will be remembered forever.
p.s.
Your son is a chip of the ol' block. He's a good seed. Although I'm certain he misses you immensely, I guarantee he carries you with him every step of the way.
Loved the advice on flies I always went to far on the stretch part of the exercise and brought the dumbbells together at the top the exercise. Thanks for the great information.
"roll out, as the transformers would say"
My gosh, he's a geek 😁
As a 42 year old getting back into weightlifting after a couple years, just about everything he says firstly makes sense, and then in practice absolutely feels correct. Both in hitting the target areas and also minimizing potential injury again.
Thanks!
Thank you for so much knowledge. You are awesome John. God Bless You.
Coming from the man himself! Thank you for this video I’m working on this outside the house while watching CZcams on my phone! Gains baby, 108* degrees in Las Vegas get some!
Great Guy !!!!
6:02 "roll out as the transformers would say" lol didn't expect that
Nice, I finally was able to grab some more dumbbells (been sold out for months). Perfect timing John! Thanks as always.
Cant wait to try
that yo yo trick was rad
awesome yo yo moves bro keep at it
Amazing workouts, just wondering do you have some tips for a dumbell only leg workout? are you planning on doing a video on this? would be great!
Coming soon!
@@mountaindog1 thank you! thats great news, me and my dad are looking forward to it
RIP Brother! You are truly missed!
Awesome ideas for chest day. Am I the only one that hits the “like” button as soon as the video starts ?
I do, priorities! Help this man grow his channel.
John been working out in the garden with dumbbells since lockdown, currently running this for push, I wonder if you have the time to critique my exercise selection?
Small incline dB press
Incline neutral grip press
Lat raise
Rear delt fly
Dips
Decline push ups
Thanks for all you do 👍👍
Boom! What a guy John was.
Amazing and much appreciated content💙
Great video John thanks for the options. I train solely from home just because I don't have a lot of time to go to a gym...I don't have one near me at all. I love our in the sticks lol. I appreciate this because I just found that my heavy dumbbells are starting to break where the handle meets the heads and I don't want to throw those over my body when they could break. These look like some great options where I can still get good overload even with lighter weights. Thanks!
This workout was killer thanks John I really appreciate it. If you can could you make an ab routine for home thanks.
These videos are great John! You’re a good guy and it shows.
Great info Mountain Dog! RIP John
Awesome video and info. I love doing dumbbell only chest workouts. I do add bands and chains though.
Ty sir.
Safer techniques to use in the gym! Nice videos.
Great video
"Alright Hi everybody John Meadows here"
Always put a smile on my face!
I hope so because it's all I have and all I can afford!! He is right about the dumbelk flys ,it does hurt I thought it was just me. I don't lower the dumbbells as far anymore.I'll say this I literally only have those colored dumbbells,3 bands with handles and some ankle weights. Years ago at my parents house we had everything! If my dad seen something on TV he bought it and had some of his older 70s type gadgets and 2 nautical machines a row machine , 2 exercise bikes and a tread mill. I did get in the best shape of my life on that equipment but using just the dumbbells and couple other things feels different but better! I have to stabilize the dumbbells compared to using my dad's equipment. I hope I can pull it off.
Another great dumbbell workout from M Dog!!🙏😎
thank you so much for this video !!! you are the best
I feel a better contraction with dumbbell flies with a slightly pronated grip as apposed to a neutral grip. It feels way better on my shoulders too.
I love the yoyo tricks mid video.
More to come!
What John can do with dumbbells? Well he can do everything... 😉 I tried this dumbbells workouts and in my opinion they are great, I feel nice pump and I feel it works. That yo yo tricks looks like CGI effects... Kid has skills. Thumb up for both of you.
Thank you so much for the dumbbells only work out series. That's the only equipment I have and I couldn't afford go to the gym even before the pandemic 😅
Excellent exercises and Yo-Yo tricks.
Just added these to my workout, thank you guys.
