  • It's time for my comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. I tried to include way more stuff in this comparison compared to my last one, that's why it took also longer than expected. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

    Ich hatte mich für das Mate 50 Pro entschieden als neues Handy. Das waren meine Gründe:
    - Schnelleres Laden als beim S23 U
    - Passte perfekt zu meinen Huawei Tablet
    - Das Mate 50 Pro besitzt genauso wie das S23 Ultra einen Stylus. Muss seperat erworben werden, ist aber Spitze. Modellname: Alita-CB011
    - 3D Gesichtserkennung, was nun täglich nutze. Einfach genial
    - EMUI Oberfläche gefällt mir mehr als Samsung
    - Sehr guter Akku mit einen Notfallmodus, welcher unter 1% aktiviert wird
    - Huawei besitzt ein Programm für Windows, womit man Zugriff auf die Cloud hat. Samsung hat kein eigenes Programm dafür
    - Empfang, tatsächlich sind Huawei Smartphones in Sache Empfang besser als die anderen.
    - Kamera hat mich überzeugt seit der P20 Serie.
    Achso und dein Video hat mir sehr gefallen. Danke für den Vergleich :)

      Das Mate 50 Pro ist definitiv ein tolles Smartphone. Ich hatte das Mate 10 und 20 Pro und dann das P30 Pro. Allesamt tolle Geräte. Der Google Ban ist für mich leider vor allem anfangs ein Grund gewesen, Alternativen zu nutzen. Mittlerweile gibt es ja einige Lösungen, die das Problem einigermaßen normalisieren.
      Hoffe dass eines Tages diese Beschränkung komplett aufgehoben wird.

    here's a tip, do zoom photos between samsung's optical range too like 8-9x to show people that mate is more versatile and can look good at any range unlike samsung that looks like crap between the optical range and stop posting shaky photos for the love of god, make 2-3 photos on each scene and choose the best one.

    • @alischan
      @alischan  Před rokem +1

      I take both pictures via bluetooth remote at the same moment. If one of them comes out blurry, it's actually quite telling for the phone that takes them. Taking 2-3 photos on each scene would kinda contradict the "point and shoot" value of phones. For me it's about what the average user can expect when capturing the moment. And I don't recall that many shaky photos in here tbh?

    Wenn du beim Mate 50 Pro einen portraitmodus willst dann kannst du einfach in 'Blende' gehen und dort ein video machen (ist aber auf 1080p@24 beschränkt)
    Wenn du aber in den pro Modus gehst dort video anklickst und die blende auf 1,4 machst kannst du die vollen 4k@60 nutzen 😎 und ich kann dir eins sagen, das sieht bei weiiiiitem besser aus als der portraitmodus bei anderen Handys 😁
    Generell für portraits einfach die 1,4er blende nutzen ist so viel schöner als die generierte Unschärfe anderer hersteller die dann meist auch schlecht ausgeschnitten ist 😎

      Ja, das stimmt. Ich benutze absichtlich immer die Standard Modi um den 'normalen' Umgang mit den Kameras zu zeigen, wie also die meisten User es nutzen werden. Samsung wins in the zoom for sure. Hauwei has better video the darker the scene gets(handles low low light better) everything else is neck and neck really. Regular low light, day time photos, video quality etc etc. Samsung likes to brighten the shadows in day time video. Hauwei is more contrasty in day time video. Detail wise they look the same. Ultrawides are fairly similar. No clear winner there. Super steady-Samsung has the resolution advantage but the mate 50 pro looked like was in 60 fps mode where as Samsung looked like it was limited to 30 fps in qhd mode. Hauwei also has better dynamic range in super steady. No one can match Samsungs stabilization in regular video at this point. It's absolute top notch, not even Apple. Other than those evaluations from myself, they are really, really close.

    • @alischan
      @alischan  Před rokem +3

      That's a really good summary in my eyes. Huaweis video is suffering in the dark though imo, we can see this so called "jelly effect" way more than on the S23 Ultra.

      @deadlyalliance8281 Před rokem +2

      @@alischan oh for sure. Hauwei hasn't mastered that yet. I got a mate 10 when it came out, absolutely loved it but it definitely had that jelly stabilization you were talking about. Was thinking about getting the mate 20 pro when it came out but that's when they stopped doing the Google services and the whole back door spy chip thingy was happening. Great stability at night really really helps the Samsung retain more details and just look overall so much better. It's not shaking the details via the jelly effect if you will. Samsung really upped their game with the 23 ultra and I say good for them!!

    In my opinion, rather than the Samsung Galaxy S series being used as a rival to the iPhone which was released late last year, it is better for the release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series to be postponed until the release of Android 15 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 so that it is fairer for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series when compared to the iPhone 16 series that year. I believe by using Qualcomm's latest chipset that year, you will see the difference between Octa-Core vs Hexa-Core and 5000mAh vs 4323mAh! If not, maybe Vivo, Xiaomi or Huawei will overtake Samsung to become the best smartphones in their class!

      keeep dreaming to a motorized zoom system on samsung, they will just recycle the s23 ultra like they did every year since huawei downfall because people still buy

    I moved away from Huawei after my Mate 20 Pro, its only 2 qualities were the battery 🔋 life and its iPhone-style 3D face unlock, in photos the colors were always washed out with lots of unnecessary contrasts, in video a disaster 🤦🏽‍♂️.
    And there, I see that it hasn't changed much, still average in photos but over-hyped, and still the most useless, bad high-end in video 🤧.

      The S23 Ultra has great battery life btw. As an European, we had Exynos all these years, so it was awful. With the snapdragon, it now improved a lot. Feels as good as when I used the P30 Pro back in the day.

      @@alischan Yes indeed!
      The thing is, I've never had a problem with the battery 🔋 life of the Samsungs, simply because I set them like the Huaweis and iPhones, i.e. have the least possible applications that synchronize in the background, especially those of Google and Meta.

      If you would've watched the video, then you would have heard me saying that the Mate defaults selfies at 0.8x and I used 1x on both. I didn't crop on the selfies. I don't have a horse in this race since I paid both phones myself, so it wouldn't make any sense for me to fake any result.
      Check my website, there are the pictures in original quality to download.
