Bearing in mind the folklore that swirls around Lenny McLean & how Cliff Field sparked him, as you say, you’d think Cliff would have a much higher profile. He sounds a mysterious & fascinating man.
I think the difference in character s Was that cliff was a quiet man and was Naturally good I think Lenny was a load character who I think due to he’s bad child hood was saying I’ll let you know I’m here so you’ll leave me alone type character.. thanks Martin support

Enjoyed that. Apart from being a fabulous boxer, Muhammad Ali was a lovely guy. There are numerous stories of him slipping complete strangers who were down on their luck substantial sums of money. I think someone asked him why he did this? He replied it might be me one day who needs a helping hand..I think it was Larry Holmes who said Ali would give you the shirt off his back. I used to write to him when l was a youngster and he always replied with signed memorabilia. He loved Brits and if they turned up at his ranch in America , in the hope of getting a photo or autograph, he would invite them in to eat with him. As you said, the greatest!
