This song is like a love story.
Begins abruptly, like just a chance encounter with a girl that ran into you on your way to school. She then turns your world upside down and brings you to fun and wacky adventures and your life begins to have color.
Then, things simmer down and takes a calm melodious route as you begin to become more intimate with each other.
Suddenly, an argument starts and both of you say things that never should have said. Things escalate to the point where you can't stand each other anymore which ends in a climactic fight asking each other if it really was worth it to continue the relationship.
Then comes pain and regret as things come into a somber tone that you still love each other and that you can't stand living a life without each other.
Going back to each other, you express all these things, however in the end can't take back what each of you said, so you part ways.
It ends with all parties wishing for more but knows that it has already ended.

Hello Ricky, I’m balling listening to this song as it reminds me of 2018 and all throughout the quarantine when I’d would listen to your songs nonstop, but as life departed from being simple like during that time I had less opportunity to listen to music in general. but now that I’m listening to them again and I’m an adult, I’m reminded of how time flew by so quickly and I’ll never go back to such a time. Funnily enough I found you through ‘my heart is buried in Venice’ from one of Shane dawson’s awful documentaries, since that I discovered that each of your works are all bangers in their own right. For on top of being highly-metaphorical, it is not simply the case of a man lamenting over a love lost in the traditional sorry fashion. But the singer also does a fair amount of introspective analysis. And it becomes pretty obvious via the lyrics that he understands that he has self-esteem issues which are affecting his romance. That is to say that he sounds like a dude who is well aware that he has found a special lady alright.
But his aforementioned wanting self-image makes him feel as if he is not good enough for her. Indeed the title of this track points to the fact that he perceives himself as a man still in development, who may not be quite ready to handle the love of a woman. And this is manifest in the reality that even though he cares for her deeply, he has said things to her which have perhaps permanently damaged their relationship.
