- Spring 2024 Test Realm is here and full of exciting changes! In this video I'll be showcasing all the major updates including the brand new rotation style gauntlet event: Portal of Peril, the mysterious Forbidden Library gauntlet, a new in-game messaging system called Pixie Post, the Quest Friend Finder feature, the much needed Spell Card Inspect, major improvements to badges including rewards and a leaderboard for completing badges, Arc 2 spellement paths and farming methods, the Scales of Knowledge that allow level scaling for Arc 1 & 2 dungeons, and much much more! This update really seems to be focusing on quality of life changes that have been sorely needed, so let's talk about it!

EDIT: Also, just to clarify, I realize I misspoke when talking about lower levels entering the new Portal of Peril event. I used a hypothetical example at 2:15 where I said it might cause problems for a level 10 player to join a max level player, but in actuality Portal of Peril only allows players level 30 and up to join. Sorry for any confusion there!

Yk the thing with the level cap does lore spells like rat spin and deer knight count for spells that you cant use? Like technically you can get them at any level.
Good question! I was able to use Catalan in the krok scaled dungeon and that’s a lore spell, so I imagine you should also be able to use spells like deer knight and rat spin too!

they need to fix the reporting feature a lot of new players are abusing this tool and reporting others at will and without any reason to do so, i been playing for 14 years and my account is a family account i play with my son i have never used profanity or bullied anyone and just recently stated started using the volunteer tool to help others that only slapped me in the face when i got wrongly reported by someone i was helping it was very upset about it, i think they should add something like they get a warning when reporting as well as the person being reported at the time of reporting this will make them think twice about what they are doing
being able to farm spellements now is amazing, i love every change this update has to offer

All of these changes have been in development for quite a while (certainly before Nightmare Standard and the ensuing Community response). Just to note that response to that feedback (in whatever form) is more likely to be realized in later updates.

For sure, the gauntlet. I've been fiending for that gauntlet gear for so, so long. The 7 pip spells changes are nice aswell
The portal of peril is HUGE. Loving the accessibility to old gauntlet gear.
Once the level scaling feature comes to live realm, I think it would be really cool if you made a guide video for the best/most efficient bosses to farm.

Being able to freely farm spellements and play gauntlets. And having spell descriptions is absolutely MASSIVE W update

Scales of Knowledge is such an immense massive W. I've always loved going into older dungeons and only using spells that were available around that dungeon's level. That's something I'm going to use very often.

I was 11 years old when I started playing this game. Simply because I loved the commercials. Here I am 24 years old and KI is still pumping out new content. It’s honestly very wholesome and admirable. KI even helped me out finding my original account because I forgot the password. Didn’t have access to my old email anymore either so I couldn’t receive any password resets. They still worked with me and gave me a password reset to my current email allowing me to play the game again. I bought 100k crowns after that to show my gratitude, and have been playing occasionally ever since.
Except for the fact that Frost Giant still sucks in PVE and the Devs continue to ignore the community’s request to remove the stun and buff the damage.
Hopefully if we continue to be vocal about wanting that change they’ll reconsider. Not everything is perfect, but it makes me hopeful that they are starting to listen. Keep offering constructive criticism!
Yeah frost giant still is bad for ice and I want Ice to have some justice in a bit of damage, yes it is the tank role and it has to be live up to its name but with a bit more utility or damage up for ice then it can be considered still a fun school yes it’s the slow burn but at least it can make ice fun for new players, anyways this update will be good now we can farm spellments so we can learn spells from other schools easily and be able to counter that nightmare dungeon if anyone wants to that is I’m still doing it to at least get the gear and get on with it
Yea, I actually stopped playing my Ice because it is horrible to quest with. Aesthetically, it is a vibe, though.@Wolf_pigs
My GOD I cannot WAIT for this update to drop! It sounds so amazing! So many things to love! Especially since the circus area is gonna be more populated, love that kinda stuff :D
These updates are really exciting - thanks for the excellent summary! I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but I'm considering getting back into wizard101 just to collect all the new monstrology house guests and check out the badges leader board.
4:18 The puzzle was to take a photo of each of the scrolls in order, the cantrip is to unlock the secret boss and requires 4 players to unlock.
I never would have thought to take a photo as part of a puzzle! That’s cool! 🤔
The devs mentioned they will be adding more information to guide players and that it was incomplete. @@Zaepha

@Zaepha I heard that theres a glitched painting in that room thats supposed to show a camera but that hasnt been loading in in test realm
Oh my goodness, I'm SO excited for spell inspection! I'm just over level 50, and played the game as a kid only to come back recently. There's so much I don't understand right now, and I keep checking the section for icons in the spellbook to tell me what the icons on my cards mean, only I still don't understand a lot of them. I'm also glad to see those PVP spells are going to Diego instead, because I just recently got mine and went "????... _?????"_ over what the heck they were for, and I don't use them at all.
I'm also really excited for badge rewards! I always, even as a kid, thought that the badges needed to be more special. I never expected us to be given rewards for them, though, but I thought it was weird there wasn't more incentive to collect them somehow.

I love being able to learn Rebirth on my fire to troll my friends and I definitely think having no or very few icons for the spell descriptions would help more than what we have right now (especially for some of the PvP spells), I'm so glad they added it. Also the way you solve the scroll puzzle is with Photomancy!
Extract Equine animus gonna be cool for decorators. Four Horseguys, Amber Horde, Valencians, Zebra Zafarians, and the outlaws found in the Sky Train Gauntlet and Barkingham Rooftop.
Spellement level scaling is my biggest one 🎉

I took a break a couple of years ago, so when I started receiving spellments during my Avalon, I was super happy about it! Glad they added it. 😁
another comment from me: i'm at the section where you're talking about level scaling and the level-locked spells. my idea that they could do is add the "level" that you receive the spell in the brand new spell inspection tab that you had shown off earlier
Free gauntlet access, level sync, leveling 2nd arc spells, quest finder, badge rewards.
So much for one update. Any idea when this is going live? Sounds like i need to prep for the chaos and get in on the action for arc 2

Edit: I have to say it gives me hope to see the devs ACTUALLY listening to their players after all this time. Very satisfying to finally be heard and listened to after so long.

my highest level is like 39 and i just started playing again but this seems hella cool
In a future update, I want them to remove the stun animation. It takes so unnecessarily long, especially if it’s a stun all on a 4-person team like with Storm Lord or Frost Giant. There are spells already like Winter Moon which just stun you and give you the shield without the “lightning shock” stun animation.
I just hope to compensate for the confusion they remove the pvp spells from peoples inventories so they can go back to Diego if they want to get them back, I'm sick of having the pvp spells hogging my spellbook up lol.

the only way i can semi-think of a way to fix the whole "level 10 with a level 170 friend/teammate" is by using a deckathalon deck. MASSIVE side deck, bonus stats, and can socket jewels (but they'd have to be at least level 15) so 🤷♂🤷♂
I think it'd be cool if a level 10 and level 70 teamed up for a gauntlet, and the level 10 can polymorph for free. Making the level 10 be useful while giving a purpose to polymorphs
man how does KI do this and make a great update but they still be doin ice dirty and not buffing frost giant 😭
what are these updates, these were like top 10 requested features since 15 years, and we are finally getting them in one shot, this is amazing, seriously underrated update, love each and every one of them wooow,
the quest friend finder , finding people with quests tree nearby makes sense, because example in mooshu, there are very few people playing at same time and quests are too far, so atleast helping each other will save time, once we help eachother

The portal of peril is for players that are level 30+ FYI, so you wont be seeing any level 10s in there

Wait, why can other schools train scarecrow now? Won't that just make picking a class kinda redundant with the school pips? And what about the old spell quests? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding something.

it is imperative KI considers a graphic update or texture pack released before the end of 2025 or just responding about new graphics before the end 2024. its getting outdated
They’ve actually announced on a recent livestream that they’re starting the process of updating more arc 1 worlds, starting with krokotopia!
@@Zaephaoof i really hope they allow the classic mode toggle to have the visuals stay how they are now. I know some people find the graphics outdated and i get it but the way it looks right now is perfect imo.
This game needs a ui revamp
I’m not so fond of the cross training, idk it ruins the whole point of school identity..for example it’s nice for some spells and things to be exclusive to a certain school because, well, it’s that schools spell. A storm wizard getting the real snow angel spell for example instead of the treasure card version is annoying cause I put time in as a ice wizard to get that spell that now another school and get just like that
I just did the portal of peril and got 0 gear and only got fortune coins do you need to be a specific level to be able to obtain the gear?? Im currently below 150 being scaled up
You should still be able to get drops from the gauntlet, they may just be rarer as in you’re not guaranteed a drop every time. I’m experimenting with it now that it’s launched and will have a video out hopefully later this week.
Surprising wizard101 ain’t added a way where you can change your school without starting over I get they have a level 50 elixir but why just stop there they should’ve had multiple elixirs for different levels it’s just weird to me they released one item and stopped
I know everyone will say that it's too much but, for a whole decade I waited for the second ring option! I strongly believe that our wizards have 10 fingers!

I’m glad I resubbed when I did, that update for the quest helper sounds perfect! I hate questing alone, I like being able to talk to people while I’m questing.

the pixie post is a bit of a let down, hopefully they improve it before release but i really dont like that you're limited, i don't understand why that's needed or why they thought that was a good idea. also i'm sure they'll do this but they better make the message field have the same rules as open chat if you have that, cause if im not able to type numbers then at least for me there's no reason to use it.
and also i still dont know why they're so against letting players farm spellements regularly. it seems pointless
i will say though, absolutely love school spells being available to everyone, it's so cool and actually can make dual schooling viable, if not at least more fun. and also guild cd starting when you join instead of when you leave is so nice, definitely in support of that, as well as spell inspect ofc. also always excited for new gauntlets, the dopamine hit i get when i place a brand new gauntlet in my house is indescribable
If only they’d add a speed battle mode, even something toggable that everyone in the fight has to have on in order to have spells speed through animations would be great QoL

You have to login to test realm and go to the fairgrounds in the commons. The update hasn’t gone live yet in the regular game.

it's a real shame. she sealed the ear of the group away from someone who needed help. wanting her to be married to someone on the game. the treated the person like a traitor among them. Though that person had betrayed them do to behaviors they exhibited. She told the group to ignore the person.

So are they getting rid of the spell quests? If so I think that’s really dumb. I don’t like the idea of other schools learning the arc 2 spells.
No, spell quests will still work as normal. Other schools will just be able to learn more of the arc 2 spells, but they usually have to wait longer than a native school. Ex. Death gets a level 48 quest to learn scarecrow, but a fire wizard has to wait to train it till level 52.

That is a very bold title and while I see lots of positivity from content creators I think everyone will realise they were overly optimistic. The same minority will be heavily updated come the summer and little will have changed. I'm always reminded of the fantastic Richard unicorn caller, every spring, summer and autumn update. He's always super excited, super positive. Then when the reality sets in a month or two later, he's so jaded and quits for several months. I don't expect anyone else to necessarily quit but I'm sure everyone's views will change in due course.
Overall this does sem like a pretty great update, but I still hope they just remove the RhoShambo and gambit cards (or versions of cards) entirely. These cards (even if there is a translation for the hieroglyphs now) have completely ruined the game! That is the most important update we need.
Personally i think theyre cool. I like that theres cards that do unique things if you set them up but actually obtaining them is so excessively unnecessarily painful currently (but this will be mitigated when this update drops) and overall theyre just not very useful in PVE outside of challenge mode. PVP is where they shine
