This was such a fun video! People always tend to think that their local libraries won't give them good recommendations for books but what people need to be reminded about is that librarians are readers too and half the time they're also consuming the same book media (booktube, booktok, etc.) we are.
my library does the best recommendations like that too!! librarians rule. also definitely adding The world gives way based on your and sara's endorsements!! and my Libby has The Mythic Dream - that lineup of authors is amazing!
I always love these videos. You should totally do another one where you read Maddie's backpacks in full. It would be interesting to see what her batting percentage would be.
City of Ember was definitely my 'sci-fi awakening' as a child. I ate that shit up. I feel like not many people read in when they were young but if they did they now love reading.

I first heard about The World gives way on Holly's channel (holly hearts books). I immediatly bought the book and did not read it. Now I really want to pick it up asap. I want that pain 😆
If you liked the concept of The World Gives Way, you should try Escaping Exodus by Nicky Drayden. It's a little bit different but the world building sounds like it's just as good. One of my favorite books so far this year
