Herbie Hancock once said he played a wrong chord while playing live with Miles Davis and it sounded absolutely horrendous, but then Miles played a few notes after it that made the wrong chord sound right.
"Do not fear mistakes, there are none." -Miles Davis
Oh wow!! What!?? Is that for real??? I'm going to have to look into that one. That sounds really interesting! I knew Miles Davis was a talented dude, but WOW!!! 😮

I think you should have mentioned Megadeth's Cover of Paranoid. At the end, when David Mustaine sings the last line of the song, the drummer keeps going and doesn't stop until David yells: "Nick! Nick!"
Then you also have when Metallica covered Blitzkrieg, and right after the song ended, Lars flat out lets one belch, laughing it off (might be James, but I'm betting it was Lars)
YES I HOPE YOU SEE MY COMMENT BUT HE GOES "Nick Nick NICK" and then the drummer goes "FUCK ME RUNNING"

Punk's going to blow your mind
@@Tonjit41 LOL I love punk too, and don’t worry, I don’t mean Green Day. I mean Sex Pistols, DRI, Dead Kennedy’s, Rich Kids on LSD, NOFX, Pennywise
One of my favorites is the album version of Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by Green Day, where Billie Joe messes up the opening chords twice in a row before muttering “fuck” under his breath. Apparently, it was intentional so the song would have a light hearted moment before a song with an emotional background.
I second this one!
I love that lmao
Love that as well
Nice to see a video today Steve. I know it has been an awful few weeks with Gram's sick and in the hospital and you not leaving her side. You are the most awesome Grandson on the planet. It was a pretty scary time as we thought we lost her but she is a trooper and surprised us all. Anyhow it is so nice to see you back at doing what you do best. Um where are your pants? This is a pretty neat idea for a video by the way. It is very interesting about Sting laughing. I always thought that was part of the song. The comedy in this video is exactly what I needed. Thanks Steve. You are my star. Loveth!

The really funny thing about the Roxanne Mistake is that The Butt-Piano ended up hitting a type of G-Chord, which is the Key of the Song.
Yet the biggest mistakes are his sour and rough notes on the words "RAOXanne". I cringe whenever I hear those notes...
Why Hello There!
every chord is a "type of g chord" if you jazz it enough
The G spot is tough to find
It also adds a surprisingly nice atmosphere to the song

Ozzy in Flying High again was suppose to say "oh no" once ,but double the vocal, but being ozzy and drunk,he says Oh no ,twice ,instead of doubling the vocal. So it's no butt piano, but it is a mistake that was left in! And became part of the song!
While recording my band's first single in 1990, the singer had his hand to his ear, and thus his digital watch right by the microphone. The watch beeped every whole hour, and of course that happened to be when he did his singing. However, it so happened that the "beep-beep" was not only in perfect tempo with the song, but also in tune! We left it in. :D
The song is a Joy Division cover to commemorate Ian Curtis passing ten years earlier.

Always thought the laugh in Roxanne was intentional!! Never noticed the dodgy note though :) Love you Stevie … thanks for another fabulous video ❤
I always noticed the note, but thought it was intentional since it hits right when the bass starts.
Yeah it just sounded like a passing chord on the way to the chord in the key.
I laughed so hard when you imitated Pete Towsend.... LOL. That big nose will be in my head for weaks.😅😅
God i love coming back to this guys channel ive been a fan of his since years.
In 'I Saw Her Again' by The Mamas and the Papas, @2:42 he starts singing too early, hesitates, then comes in again at the right time. So it sounds like 'I saw her..........I saw her again last night', but it actually fits the song so they kept it in.
It's so good to see your face. I'm sorry it's been so tough lately, and I hope that things are starting to look up. I can definitely emphasize with you. My mom had major surgery on her lungs on the 8th, and it's been rough since. She's on the up now, thankfully.
Some of these I seriously just thought the mistakes were part of the song! Especially the Pink Floyd one. I definitely think there should be a part 2 of this video! You could even do one where artists intentionally put hidden explicit things in their songs to see if they could get it by radio edits. I hope you and your family are doing well, and am happy to see you back. 😊
Thanks so much Jackie!! Things are looking up here too. Glad to hear your Mom is on the mend!! Sounds like a rough start of the year for all of us! But we're on the up!! 😃

My personal favorite “mistake” that was left in the recording of a song comes at the very tail-end of “Cathedral,” the brief 1-minute solo by Eddie Van Halen (RIP)
Supposedly, the volume knob that Eddie was using to create the effects for Cathedral broke during the recording, and you can actually hear the song get softer towards the end, and the producers turning up the gain very slightly to compensate. In a way, it’s kind of like the magician revealing his secrets, or getting to peek at the man behind the curtain (in a musical sense)!

It was super common for many bands in the 50s/60s to record all in the same room (or at least everything but the vocals). They probably did a few takes, depending on budgets, and decide to go with the one with the mistake and likely couldn’t comp it out with the other take due to differences in the performance.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Steve's vocals at 8:58. As a tenor, those notes are extremely hard to hit. Much respect deserved Steve.
He is really a talented guy and all that but after seeing this, I went back and listened to the part over and over and I'm not convinced that he's actually singing that second line. I think it sounds like he sang the first one, but something about the second one sounds far too close to the production track.... But I could be wrong, hard to tell really.

Hey Stevie T. This video is absolutely hilarious and makes me laugh and smile. I love this video and your content and also you as a creator and person that I love watching and seeing content from.
There's a glitch on Domination (Symphony X), around 3:25 in the first guitar solo, it's like someone hit the desk or something, don't know what caused it and they just left it in the release

10:45 Well, because they were joking! They were the best harmony vocalists at the time. Just that! And of course they were hoping some guy in the future on CZcams would finally pay attention to this, without understanding why they did it.... 😅
BTW, another "mistake" in a hitsong is in Dancing in the city by Marshall Hain, when someone accidentally bumps into a guitaramp and you hear the springreverb during the intro , almost sounding like thunder! 😉

One you missed is The Sheriff from Emerson, Lake and Palmer. The drummer does a roll on different percussion instruments of his kit. Then suddenly, his drumstick slips onto the bass drum. You can clearly hear him shout “$#*%!” It’s on the album Trilogy.

“Behind an em-m-m-mense front, front!”
There's a video where early in their career, ELP are peforming The Great Gates of Kiev from Pictures At An Exhibition, and Palmer screws up coming off of Emerson's keyboard solo, but only needs a couple seconds to get his shit together again.

Steve definitely did this in a good mood. One of the funniest videos!
Kurt Cobain hit a bum note in the solo for Man who sold the world, on Nirvana unplugged. He styled it out so well I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me. I still add that wrong note in if I play the song myself as I'm so used to hearing it now. It is just part of the song for me. I think the moral of the story is if you play a wrong note just roll with it.
I also play it like that because of that recording, but I never knew it wasn't deliberate. Also, are you sure it wasn't?
@@masansr Yeah he doesn't do it in other live recordings. Listen to how out of tune it is. Once you've heard it you can't not. It was still a great performance though. I like hearing the human imperfections in music.
Eric Clapton hits a pretty bad and late note during his unplugged performance of ‘Tears in Heaven’ too, as if his fingers got caught on the string or something.
just another legendary video from the legend himself!

I just want to thank you Stevie you had my interest about a year ago and about a month ago I started guitar and really started to love it so thanks that's all.
Barbara Ann was recorded for an album called Beach Boys' Party! All of the songs on there are recorded in a relaxed, jovial way, designed to sound like a party atmosphere. "The producer", for anybody who knows music, was quite obviously Brian Wilson, who was known for his perfectionism in the studio, so he'd be the last person to put a song together in an untidy fashion.
So i guess I was right, I always felt it was intentional, and yes it sounds like a party
The full version is a lot of fun! According to Dean Torrence of Jan and Dean, the session was quite a party. He said he left a frustrating session with Jan and his friends The Beach Boys were recording in a neighboring studio so he joined in and sang on Barbara Ann. At the end you can hear someone say, “Thank you, Dean.”
Exactly. It was intentional for it to sound that way.
*No, it wasn't intended:* listen to the 2015 mix without overdubs, the mistake is still there. The Beach Boys recorded "Party!" in a rush because Capitol wanted a record to be released on Christmas.
@@szilvusaIt wasn't intended: the 2015 mix without overdubs still has this mistake, meaning that it wasn't planned.
The Beach Boys recorded "Party!" in a rush because Capitol wanted a record to be released on Christmas. The party atmosphere is intentional, the mistake just happens to fit in that. They messed up the queue, no one knew who was supposed to sing that part - it was probably Dean from Jan & Dean, the only guest to record an impromptu lead vocal in the entire album.
