He had everything in his GAP Band day's until he lost it all to drug addiction. He had no money and was homeless, living on the streets. He had hit rock bottom and was all alone. He chose to make a change in his life, and that's when he met his now wife who stood by him. He said she was his backbone. Charlie then turned his life around and created a solo career, even when others didn't believe in him. I guess he proved them wrong in the end. 👏🏻 THE LESSON HERE IS... At least he found out who his real friends were, when he was going through the worst time of his life. "When the fame and money was gone, so was all the FAKES!" Nobody wanted to know him then! How sad... CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY! some people are only there for the good times, and then abandon you when they can no longer benefit from you!

I don't listen to Charlie Wilson's music but my grandmother took me to his concert and I was so moved by this song that I started to cry. It's absolutely beautiful. I felt his pain, heart ache and joy all at once.

Mr. Wilson has ALWAYS had one of the most soulful, flexible, stirring voices in all of Pop, Soul, R&B, and Contemporary Music... The things that his voice does (which most people can only do with auto0tune) seem to come so effortlessly with him. He is in the same class of voice as Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. I have always discerned a similarity in those 3 voices. and they are so moving... So glad that Mr. Wilson has overcome his dark side, and continues to share his gift with the world!
Back when Charlie first came out in 1979 with the GAP Band, Stevie Wonder was his idol. Their first album he sounded just like Stevie. He changed his style after that to the style we have come to love..but Stevie was his inspiration vocally

I love this song so much I can feel his pain I went thru a tuff surgery when the doctors told me I wouldn't make it out alive when I found out I had a brain tumor I lost hope I lost faith I gave up in life dranked my days away I just wanted to die but with the help of my family and my great amazing friends I over came this battle I listened to this song I knew then I couldn't give up i prayed and prayed for a miracle and I'm still here after 6 long hours of surgery I came back to life Charlie Wilson I just want to thank you for this song it's really a inspiration to me thank you amen

I had to play this today because I have had a bad year I found out that I am Diabetic I hurt the one person that loves me the most and she's still by my side I lost my job and lost a Cousin and best friend to Cancer. But like him I believed in God and I Know it Is going to be alrigh.... my life is not over but only going to get better
