It’s amazing to me that you can talk, teach, film and paint…in the wind‼️ I learn something new every time I watch you paint, I’m so glad you used a straight edge for the bridge because I know I’d have to 😁🎨👊🏻
I like how when you sketched in the elements, you used a color representative of that shape, and you didn’t tone the canvas. That seemed to increase the fluidity of progress and a pleasing painting. Nice job!! Enjoyed watching you paint. Thanks!!
That just blew me away…your drawing is just so accurate and good. Colors mixes really showed the atmospheric perspective and just makes the painting! Showing the type of day, with the atmospheric perspective with your colors choices made this such a successful painting. Good composition too! Again, how you got the drawing so quickly en plein air shows your experience and growth as a painter. BRAVO Michael!
I especially like your addition of the purple/blue cast shadow on the water. And I love the looseness and painterly tree trunks. They are very calligraphic in style and nature. Great painting once again of a challenging composition! Painting on a larger canvas allows you to keep it loose and yet have room for some subtle details in the cypress trees.
Loved this! I still can't believe how fast you throw those shapes down in paint. I was painting whilst watching this and I swear I looked away for a second and that bridge was up 😂👏
I absolutely love it.I've only been drawing for 5 years.I like doing portraits, graphic illustrations, tattoo designs, stuff like that, but I want to try some landscapes.Fantastic work bro 🤘
Of course, I'm dating myself, but I was humming the "Mannix" theme song the whole time I was watching you paint this scene. Great job and vlog, as usual, especially given the iconic, technical challenge of framing the bridge, surrounded by all that gorgeous nature.
really enjoyed this one! I also find structures a challenge, you explained your process so well. most enjoyable watching you being challenged. A great video thank you Michael ❤
OMG, what a breathtaking spot, Mike! Your painting is gorgeous, and you created the elements with real expertise. A really enchanting painting. I just love it!!
Very nice. I think the trees on the right give good balance to the bridge, which tends to fill more of the left side and takes the viewers eye that direction. Also the greens in the foreground are a compliment to the reds in the bridge.
Quite windy near the Bay; adds to the challenges of en Plein Air. On the other hand, a very beautiful location to be working out from :) Thank you Michael!
Michael - YOU made history with your first painting ( the famous one ) of the Golden Gate Bridge ! The World still awe struck from that (oh yes I remember) . Michael, so many visions in this new one, one day I intend to pencil the imagery that only a few see ❤️
Congratulations! Finishing that in one sitting is an accomplishment! I see quite a number of CZcams pleir air artists prefer to do their work in one sitting, and I enjoy watching them race to the finish. When I first started painting, I made the decision that I would rather work multiple settings. i don't enjoy racing time, and I like to think about what I want to accomplish. That race is much more fun to watch when someone else is doing it!
So masterful. I think you should talk ablut the importance of abstract paint strokes. And how you can get a natural and effective broken color effect with it. Love you work. So California.
Nicely done! As a relatively new plein air painter I look forward to your Sunday morning video drops for inspiration. You never disappoint, thanks for sharing.
I’ve been waiting a long time for this one…beautiful as usual…you captured the light wonderfully. I fell and broke my hand last week so I don’t know when I’ll paint again…I’ll use this for inspiration
@@chamberlainpaintings thanks they want to see how it heals for a few weeks to hopefully avoid surgery I think painting will be good therapy when it’s safe to do
I like the way your changing up your subjects as of late. Keep it fresh n loose! Thanks again Michael. by the way if you ever want to go too the Auburn area I could lodge you at a friends air bnb, my treat.
Michael, I believe you could grab a chop-stick, a little glue and a frayed shoelace and paint just as comfortably as you do with all your brushes, whether new or centuries old (as some appear). You are a true alla prima artist, a California coastal Monet. This is a cool composition. You really did a good job with those big verticals on the bridge uprights, and you really captured some great light in the bay at the left. Are you typically a morning light painter?
8:53 - foreground left, the three darker shapes, in the water, then, just to their right, see the white framed in dark (still foreground) two distinct images, the one to the right clothed in white, vertically posed, adjacent to their right see the second image in the white, clothed in dark lower flow design, in pivot, arm raised , head turned . .
( also 8:53 i see just right of the far pillar a leopard in full stride, spotted coat , rear feet lead the front , i know it’s just me, beautiful imagery everywhere . . .
How did you find that great painting spot? You did a really great painting from that really great view. I learn so much listening to your thinking as you are oainting. Thank you for sharing.😊
Yes, I currently have work available at studiogallerysf.com and I have a show new work scheduled for early October at the same gallery (Studio Gallery in San Francisco).

I really like this one. For me, the bridge is such a dramatic subject

No bridge protests today..lol. Great painting!
golden gate bridge is just so iconic
I’m loving the beautiful shadow cast by the bridge onto the water.

Absolutely beautiful landscape. What a view. One of my favorite videos, and pieces you’ve painted, is Alcatraz Island. Thank you for sharing.✨🙏🏻💕
Always a thrill to see you laying out compositions first colours on rocks and trees. Love the mixture of alizarin crimson and ultramarine blue
Awsome work ,particularly like the use of a large canvas plien air ,it turns the whole exercise into a cross country event with all its challenges
I love the way you approached the scenery and how you've structured things with such ease ✨️
Thanks Mike 🍻
Thanks Cedric!

Great painting, I love the idea of you being a San Francisco painter and exploring that connection.
More SF plein air to come!
A very beautiful painting and an interesting video. I wondered whether you would lose your light, glad that you didn't.
That view is a money maker for you.
Is it?! Maybe I should paint it more often. 😂 Last time I painted a similar view was back in 2021.

@@chamberlainpaintings I remember it was good, like all your bridge paintings
Beautifully done, and I really like the effect the white canvas gives to the transparent colors.
Thanks Maura!
This was a fun one to watch! Gorgeous painting!
Happy Earth Day.. you achieve a beautiful balance between structure and loose brushwork ..well done.💕🌞🌎🌏🌍
Beautiful angle of the bridge, Michael! You always do the Golden Gate Bridge so beautifully. :D
Thanks Kay!
Absolutely wonderful Michael. The brushwork in the foreground draws me into the sun-warmed
scene.
Thanks Gary!
Good morning Michael. It would probably take me half that 3 hrs just getting the bridge drawing accurate 😆 Painting looks great 👍🏽
Good morning Miriam. Thanks!
hello, sir. Your work is amazing!:)
Michael 8:53 is an impressionist’s dream ( when you lift away the brush inside that second of time )
That was a great demo.
I love your pieces involving the bridge

Nice one Michael!
I really love this painting, the colors are so good and the shape and direction of the bridge add so much to the composition.
Thank you for this video
Awesome, love the composition.
Nice vantage point . Like the composition and subdued colors in background.
Great composition! Beautiful. I would be so intimidated to take that on.
Dreamy and glorious ❤❤
Extremely Beautiful Michael
