We being a family of three sisters its like based on a true story for me, I was waiting eagerly for this to release, It just potrays a lot of my family, my dad is still alive and my uncles are already into our properties which is not inherited but built by my parents with their hard earned money. I love and respect our "sobaliba". It has christian values.... care for the widows, the orphans, the elderly .... a sense of responsibility for their family, their clan and their village as a whole. It is painted ugly only when some heartless male chauvinists with greed try to twists the sobaliba to their advantage. ❤ Loved the movie 👌 superb acting, scripts, directing etc.etc. Tears from beginning to end 😭 May God bless the whole team 🤗

It was an immense pleasure to watch this film. Everything was flawless. The subtitle was also perfectly crafted. One of the most grammatically correct among all the many other local videos I’ve watched. Truly professional.

Such a meaningful story. Greedy uncles basing on tradition wants to take over the house. If they had love for their brother they would ultimately love the children as their own. Many use tradition as an excuse to cover their greed . A godly uncle would never do such things to his brothers children. I also loved the song. Kudos to all the team.

What a timed message and depiction of Naga's so called customary law and intersected lives of thousands Naga family who had no male child!!! Customary rights are to protect and safeguard our tribals rights but it still doesn't straddle a clear lines as to where it's legitimacy ends and applies in individuals rights.

It is a good feeling to see our brethren evolving from the cavemen mentality and making room for inclusion and acceptance. Sobaliba is not bad either in intent or nature but it is the manipulators of the Sobaliba that paints it ugly.
The actresses and actors are superbly talented. Real life caricatures of our society. We should raise our voice against this benevolent subordination in our society.
From what I have gathered and understand, subaliba is our unwritten constitution. And like all constitutions, its high time our constitution evolves.

Well scripted and projected the societal issue as we cope up and transcends in this modern world. Especially when apathetic people with greed distort the true form of the time immemorial good cultural values, it is an eye-opener and thought-provoking social message for many. However, with the inquisitive mind and receptive heart to learn, I just want to put up a question i.e what about those women marrying non-locals? I understand by the definition itself of "acquired property rights". So, in this case, does it mean that if the women acquire property anywhere in Nagaland and even if she is married to a non-naga or for instance adopted a non-naga child by choice of remaining a spinster the sole right goes to the latter? Eventually, as by the prerogative of constitutional rights, the ownership of the property rights will go to the husband or the adopted child. So, my question is won't it impinge or impact negatively the Naga's at large in the long term? Just keeping in mind with economic strength the possibilities are limitless. And does the women have the right to buy inherited lands, even the lands owned by the clan in villages? Today the issue of identity is having multifaceted complexities either with the intend of homogenization by the far-right populist and protectionism in international politics. Not forgetting the records we have of our neighbouring states like Tripura, Assam and the political developments taking place in other states that threaten the indigenous people. As we know the world is not an ideal place and will never be at any point of given time, as there will always be external forces that try to dilute and get their hands on wherever or for whatever bigger ulterior motives either by coercion or allurement, though with good intentions we try to implement positive changes and accept every alien to live among us. I may sound like a bigot and male chauvinist but my intention here is to let you guys ponder beyond just what our eyes meet. I know the issue is absurd and ambiguous as it may seem to even discuss but I think intellects with far-sighted minds must deliberate on this issue delicately beyond the emotional and social evil lens.
It's a very sensitive issue and I feel, It's like 'killing two birds with one stone. When we are trying to solve a problem with the provision of legal rights and justice at the same time creating complexities for the future generations to juggle between democratic rights and cultural practices that protect and keep our identity intact. Lastly, just rephrasing what the Clan head told in the video that, 'acquired properties', after some generations might become 'inherited properties' is a bigger question in itself? Having said that I don't condone any form or shape of mistreatment towards any human being.
