  • G-Unit is undeniably one of the biggest groups of all time. It's no secret that 50 Cent didn't get along with many members of G-Unit due to laziness and other contributing factors. Today we look into what exactly led to the tragic downfall of G-Unit.

As a female fan of 50 and G-Unit you couldn’t tell me $hit about them back then. I got to augments with he guys I worked with over 50 because they were talking junk lol Ever since I heard How to Rob I was hooked and waiting for him to blow up as he did. I got all the albums, each member’s debut album, I had the gear, BullentProof the Game and I went to the shows. Love 50 and still do with his petty self.
I’m always sad to hear about the cracks in G-Unit and how things fell apart but in some ways I get it. He wanted them to stand on their own, or some got too gassed and he had to cut them off. As for the street stuff..I get that too..he’s trying to build an empire for himself and possibly help those who wants the same..but you can’t be still wanting to do street $hit then hang around him…he’s not trying to lose what he’s building…Some of these rappers should wake up and do the same or anyone for that matter… times you got to cut off people who doesn’t fit for you anymore and more forward. keep them around and they will hold you back and bring trouble you don’t want.
The Game messed up and I LOVE his debut album…All Game had to do was chill, build then go off on his own but ego got in the way…and it’s a shame.
Fast forward to the Super Bowl half time show…a part of me was hoping Game would join them for Hate it or Love it…that would have made my night.
Yayo’s album I didn’t like out of all of them..Just the one main track but definitely his debut album was not good. Still have in my collection but I won’t go back to it.
Love Banks…I really enjoyed his debut album.
Buck’s debut album was good too…no bad…I enjoyed it.
Game debut..FIRE! I couldn’t stop listening to the album. Still one of my favorite albums to listen to.

Top causes of their decline are:
-50 dissing half of NY on “Piggy Bank.”
    -Game being disloyal.
-50 publicly kicking Game out of G-Unit.
-50 watering down the brand by signing Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Spider Loc, etc.
-Banks leaving his “Big Withdraw” album at a hoe’s house.
-Banks not stepping up to be the flagship artist on the label.
-Buck being disloyal & doing drugs.
-50 over-saturating the market with his sound by writing for LL, Freeway & Scrappy.
-The label not updating their sound or beat selection.
-50 participating in a sales battle with Kanye.

Already uninterested in the video by the thumbnail and intro to the video not including or showing The Game as apart of G-Unit. Anybody who dismisses the fact he was a member doubt lived through the era. I remember when he was in the group I remember anticipating and waiting for his album especially after being on Banks album released at the start of summer 2004. He had joined in Fall 2003 around the time Beg For Mercy released. He had already done songs with them before as 50 and Game were both Aftermath for almost a year before Game joined G-Unit . During Games time in G-Unit he dissed Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, Benzino, The Source, Murder Inc, Bang Em Smurf, Yukmouth, Joe Buddens, Domination all in G-Units defense. When it came time for the beefs with Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Nas, Game made the mistake saying that he would stay out if the beef publicly.. That's Games mistake.
When it comes to the falling out between 50 and Game, I'm tired of people biasly blaming Game like 50 doesn't have a massive ego. I think they were both in the wrong. 💯
They were a good team. When Game was in the group that was the peak of the label. Good times.

Lloyd Banks did not have a failed career, what are you talking about? He is still respected, and back to dropping music via his own label “Money by any means/Empire”. He also lost his father, and his mother was sick at one point. Give him a break. Mase was never signed to G-Unit btw, Diddy blocked that deal.

5:05 1 million $. Remember people were offering him $1.7m but he took the lower offer from shady and dre because hes smart af. Tony Yayo was like "You turned down $1.7m? come on 50 like wtf?!" 50 playing Chess not Checkers. He a genuinely good businessman some rappers go broke lol from spending their money like idiots. Respect to 50 his first album sold MILLIONS record labels like telling him to drop his second album but hes like nah let me put my dudes on first before i release my second album. Thats some loyal shit that goes a long way in a lot of peoples eyes. Like he couldda dropped his second album at his HOTTEST when he was on TOP and it would have sold like wildfire after his first album which sold a LOT like over 10 million album sales. So to do that? Mad respect. He looked after his peoples got them on made sure they was good first. THEN he drops his second album in like 05 that also sells over ten million records but it would have sold more in 03/04 IMO.

What 50 contributed to the Game career is quite evident and transparent considering he never created another hit or anything of any significance shortly after. Very likely, even lacking the the skill set to create huge songs he's also being blackballed by the powerfully rich fifty cent whose powerful friends possess the keys to all doors.

You imagine, you doing your own sht and before you know it the biggest rapper in music at the time gives you a call and sign you to shady records.
A black man gave him the opportunity and he turns around and returns the favor by doing the same with 50.
Thats why 50 would go at anyone who talks shit about Eminem.

All of your documentaries are on point but I'm disappointed by the complete omission of Jimmy Henchman for the Game segment (unless you talk about that in the Game vs. 50 documentary).
You named the on paper reasons that led to their beef, but both 50 and Yayo know that it started with Henchman getting in Game's ear. Henchman and Chris Lighty had a very serious beef, and even though G-Unit didn't like Henchman, they had to give him the benefit of the doubt as it wasn't proven Henchman was involved in shady business.
Yayo said 50 regrets not making Game leave Henchman before accepting him into G-Unit.

To me, the best rapper in the group (besides 50) was Lloyd Banks. The problem was Banks has no work ethic. The artist with the best work ethic (besides 50) was the Game. The problem with Game is he has that Joe Budden problem as Game usually self sabotages with everyone he works with.

I won’t argue with you that the members of G-Unit may have some of their self to blame for not being associated with 50 but I don’t think it’s fair to say that banks and Buck were lazy. Buck, especially had a reputation for being a great songwriter, and someone that constantly hustles From dozens of people in hip-hop. Even 50 Cent had to admit that Banks and Buck were very good when it came to the studio like I said I’m not saying they don’t have their faults but I don’t think it’s fair to say that they were lazy. I think with Buck it’s a bunch of things that happened outside the studio in offstage and mistakes. He’s made in his personal life as far as partying and not being mindful of how much money he’s spending but let’s keep it a buck. The game had backing from the West Coast, even though Dr. Dre quit messing with him. There were other members of that NWA family tree on the west coast that still we’re messing with game and had his back. Even though Dr. Dre didn’t do anything with game, he was still working with artist like Snoop Dogg, Warren G, tha Dogg pound, ice cube, Mack 10, etc. so even though he technically wasn’t on aftermath anymore, he still had 80% of that family tree helping him out.
Where other members of unit really only had unit and when there’s no G unit they’re kind of out there by themselves so I don’t think it’s fair to say that this proves was a hard worker and he just worked harder than those other guys. He had a whole region behind him, backing him up. go listen to the first three solo Young Buck albums. You can’t be lazy and come out with music that good

You have to learn from your mistakes because if you don’t from your mistakes you will not grow and become better version of yourself,if 50 would of paid the bail all he would of done is put a 🩹 on it, and a price one at that so remember that this dude could of been making legal money and learning and meeting people but instead a Jersey that wasn’t even his was his down fall and is sad because I seen people burn good bridges over few dollars when if they would of just been real about the situation

Back in the day, I used to think 50 was the villain in the Game beef, and I thought he was the reason for the fall of G-Unit. After kicking Buck out, right after Game. My opinion definitely changed in later years. Game was an unloyal bipolar mess, and you can see how much more of a phoney he has been in recent years. 50 wanted Banks, Yayo, and Buck to branch out and make it on their own. But they were being either reckless or lazy, so they all still live off him to this day, and he's tired of it.
I believe Lloyd Banks could've been a big rapper, but he just sucked at promoting himself. It's a shame how much low attention he gets, but he's to blame. What 50 said about him in his audiobook really highlights his failure.

Banks didn't fail due to being lazy. Banks failed because his voice changed. Banks voice sounds amazing in the song 'On Fire' and in 2004. But his voice went from amazing to Game comparing it to Oscar the Grouch. Em said it took like 200 takes for him to get his voice sounding right for 8 bars on the song 'You Don't Know'. Banks has punches but his voice after 2005 became much worse.

It was a great resurgence for the Mobb and ill go on to say that it brought me to becoming a Mobb head more than even G-Unit and Mobb Deep will forever be better exponentially then gunit for the culture.
