    Always wondered what the red tags were on people’s cameras!

    Thanks for the good review! It is neat to see that it is possible to put the bottom mount on even with your mounting plate.

      I've debated removing this older video a few times! Glad there's still some value in it! I still use peak design straps today too! this and the leash!

    Very good video. I considered these, for the same reasons you pointed out. I didn't know they had the rubber traction strips integrated; that's one thing that has kept my Domke Gripper straps favored. I would have liked to have seen a removable pad included. I'd imagine that with a heavy camera rig, that could get uncomfortable on the neck. (or shoulder) For this, I find neoprene to be an outstanding material for a strap.
    Thanks for the video. More film content, please! ^_^

      Thank you for the kind words! Yes it can get pretty heavy on your neck I think that’s why I typically wear my camera like a sling!

    Hi. Love your video... Well made..... Wondering about Manfrotto plates that will accommodate a Peak ???

    Great Review and I'll use your link to buy one - I use Arca Swiss but am struggling to find a plate with a hole like yours - do you have a link for that?

    • @Goughie
      @Goughie  Před rokem

      The plate with the whole in is the peak design one!
      Thank you link wise but my affiliate links aren’t working so don’t worry too much!

    Thank you for this video! Would you recommend the slide lite for the x100v?

    • @Goughie
      @Goughie  Před 3 lety

      No I wouldn’t actually! I think the strap is too big for the X100V.
      I use my Peak design leash with my x100v :) same sort of design! Just thinner! The x100v is surprisingly light!

    Hello! Thanks for the review! If you could get one now, would you go for the lite again or the thicker/padded design?

  • @hrv-nl
    @hrv-nl Před 3 lety

    People have complained that the newer versions are of slightly thicker material that causes the strap to basically create two big loops as you move it up to your face for shooting and they get in the way. Especially when you hang it around your neck.
    What's your experience?

    • @Goughie
      @Goughie  Před 3 lety +1

      My experience is exactly that when it was new. Now it’s older it’s stopped doing it anywhere near as much. Since this video I bought the “leash” version and generally use that over this one. I generally only use this strap on my Sony A7 as it’s quite heavy

    • @Hubieee
      @Hubieee Před rokem

      Its not a problem I think. You can attach one connector to the end of the strap itself to basically create a closed loop strap. The other end you connect to the bottom of the camera which will give you pretty much all the freedom you need to handle your camera.

    Have you found that the grey gets dirty easy? Really leaning toward that color!

    • @Goughie
      @Goughie  Před 4 lety +1

      I’ve used mine a fair amount now and it still looks pretty much new, but I do baby my gear to some extent, so the strap hasn’t really seen rain or anything as my cameras generally aren’t water resistant

      I think I mention what you mean at 02:26 I don’t really know the point in them is as it’s on the outside of the strap? I assume it’s for if you buy a shoulder pad to keep it from sliding about

    This is bollocks.. the rubber grip is on the outside of the strap.. fat lot of
    good that is, also the locking buckles Don’t do anything you can pull the strap
    through them quite easily, no matter what position the snap over thing is in ?
    And my strap is exactly the same as this one. ! got it from Amazon today !

    • @Goughie
      @Goughie  Před 3 lety

      Might be worth returning and getting a replacement.
      I’ve just checked mine, with the latches closed I really struggle to pull the the strap through them. It’s doable but takes a lot of force.
      I do say that the rubber is on the outside not touching your neck 02:20. I have no idea what this is for tbh, but I’m not convince you’d watch the rubber pulling on your neck! I’ve assumed maybe they do a neck pad attachment and it stops that slipping

    • @roopethevideofreak
      @roopethevideofreak Před rokem

      The latch is not for locking but for easier pulling. And what comes to the rubber it's flip to grip, grip when you need and no when you want it to slide like when carrying it sling style and shooting.
