It was clear to Vince. This was his next star. Stone Cold got his spot. If he stayed in the fed he’d be in the goat discussion. In my opinion when he was in his prime he was the most naturally gifted professional wrestler ever. Told good stories with his ring work, great look, great crowd connection. Scott benefitted greatly from being around Bret and Shawn, his storytelling during the nWo is amazing.
What a powerhouse. Hall was always raw power in all his characters. He looked like a stud here, kind of like Magnum TA. He could have made it work like Magnum did as Magnum was cream of the crop until he got injured.

I've heard several wrestlers in interviews say that Scott Hall had one of the best professional wrestling minds of all time. He was a natural at booking, and building story lines, and building up wrestling characters. That's what I've heard in interviews.
That's why he got along so well with The Kliq. They were all guys with great minds for the game as it was back then. Kevin Nash was his best friend and they actually gave him the books in WCW for a while. Scott would have had the same if he wasn't on the drugs and drink by then.

I watched that on ESPN classics a while ago if I'm not mistaken. Looking back, I like the AWA because it emphasized actual mat wrestling more so than a lot of the cartoon gimmicks of the WWE at the time. WWE did bring some very athletic matches at the time but I could do without a lot of the cartoon elements.

His promo in '87 sounds a bit like the promo in '96 when he mentions about wrestling him and not trash talking when he confronted Eric Bischoff, in his announce table. The foreshadowing on what was to come of Scott Hall's, wrestling career 9yrs. later that changed everything in WCW.
In WWE and WCW Scott Hall never seemed that big of a guy. However when you see him standing next to regular sized humans, you realise how much of a monster he really was.
287lbs. there, he made it up to 298lbs., at least in his original Scott Hall persona. You have to appreciate his talent on many different levels. Real complexity and hard work behind that image we all remember so well. He is missed ♡
