"Let's just say, I went through a phase.." That phase when you shake your head while riding your bicycle downhill in order to mimic the hyperthrust effect? I went through that phase, too! Ah, youth....
Personally I love both, 'cos there's a lot to love in both shows, and even though I will admit that there's a lot to point out that could be better with both shows, this one never got given a chance. And Rex Smith was a decent actor who should have been given at least another two or three seasons and then got the part of Daredevil following his co-starring in The Trial of The Incredible Hulk
Thank you Steve. I watched Street Hawk again when it was broadcast on Forces TV about five years ago Unfortunately they never showed the pilot episode. I think the series has held up very well. There's always a danger in revisiting films and TV from our youth in that they don't quite measure up to the memory. It deserved more than one series 👍
Absolutely. I was surprised how well it held up. The Knight Rider comparison came about because I'd gone back to that and lost interest. Going back to Street Hawk, I wasn't expecting much but I was riveted throughout every episode and was left wanting more. I always thought Knight Rider was better but in hindsight I've changed my mind.
@David Brown You can find it online. I think YT's bot's have it fixed where I can't mention it. But you can find it very cheap. I will give you a hint. It starts with an "a' ends with a "n" and has a Prime attached to it. :p
I loved them both, street hawk would have been as popular as knight rider if it had the chance, here's another one you might remember, Hardcastle and McCormick, there car was ace, the Coyote X
A classic for sure. Of course we also uses to play the part on our bikes. A mate round the block had the black Raleigh Vektar, which pretty much was the best bike you could have wanted at the time, especially when wanting to be Street Hawk as had all the buttons. I did watch the pilot during lockdown, going to pick up the DVD to watch the rest again soon
Just like Knight Rider I was jaw dropped on the floor in love with this show! I bought the season and watch it in rotation with Knight Rider and Airwolf on my days off! Sad it only lasted 1 season but to this day it is the main reason I got my motorcycle liscense and my Bike (which in a funny twist) cause it is a Hawk250! I also sourced a fiberglass kit to make a full size StreetHawk but I have yet to commit to the 7k pricetag, maybe one day lol! I have also began making a Streethawk out of a GIJoe RAM and having a 3D printed Jesse Mach and Streethawk made! Even with 1 season this show still captivates people and has a big fallowing! Thank you for your video!
Absolutely I wouldn't dress up as anything else! We have a local Con in the next town over and I'd for sure bring the bike every year! I have yet to commit to the $7000.00 price tag of just the kit (no electronics) and honestly it'll be alot of work and money to do StreetHawk justice!!!
Excellent video. Me and my best friend were into Streethawk. It was a natural evolution to watch after Night Rider. This was another one of those series, like Automan, that the British TV announcer would claim that a new series would be back next year! As there was no internet, you just took their word and were disappointed when it never came back. 😊
Used to love this as a kid. Remember watching this with my big sister! Street Hawk, Knight Rider, Blue Thunder (even though not a massive fan of), The A-Team, Airwolf, The Fall Guy, Tales of the Golden Monkey and Bring 'em Back Alive, the latter two cashing in on the Indiana Jones craze of course. All 80s classics.

Unfortunately, the soundtrack that Tangerine Dream composed for the 13 episodes has never been released. For me one of his best songs. Knight Rider, Airwolf, Blue Thunder, Street Hawk.. forever!
Surprised that's even a question... NO, Street Hawk is not better than Knight Rider... not in a million years. KITT can think, talk, and drive itself. It's like comparing Blue Thunder and Airwolf.

I need to re-watch this myself. I remember watching it on TV when it first come out. I can't remember why they cancelled it. I know as always during that time it was cause of low ratings. I think it was cause of the time slot. This would be a good idea for a reboot for sure. For those interested on re-watching it. You can find Season 1 online. (I think YT keeps deleting my comment for mentioning where to find it -lol) Oh, Something that was not mention his partner is Robert Beltran. He stars later on as Cmdr. Yeah, low ratings as I mentioned. The low ratings themselves being due to a managerial decision to prioritise another TV show for the prime time slot. Dailymotion for those episodes you mentioned, I believe. The DVD is quite cheap if you shop around though & it's nice to have on the shelf.
I think Street Hawk aged much better in contrast to Knight Rider. As a child i first watched Knight Rider of course, but today i think the most episodes are outdated in terms of effects and storys. KR had some great moments like all "Goliath" (Garthe Knight😂)-Episodes, as well most of the third season. On the other hand the humour was nonsense most of the time and the first two seasons were really boring as well. Street Hawk had only 13 Episodes + Pilot, and that's the benefit. The whole thing was darker in terms of storys and soundtrack. I love especially the pilot and Vegas Run, which had very good moments. Rex Smith was a good actor in contrast to Hoff and Regalbuto an excellent sidekick. Certainly there were gadgets like Hypertrust, which was ridiculous and other things which copied Knight Rider all the way. Nonetheless i prefer Street Hawk😊 Sadly, there are no plans for a Bluray-Release, but the DVD-Version is better than nothing.
The thing i would of loved if they brought knight Rider and Street Hawk together as a cross over that would of been awesome...but knight Rider was better sorry
