LCD is the love child of the B52s and the Talking Heads. With uncle David Bowie giving the child a big hug.
That someone accidentally dropped down the stairs
@@MahkyVmedia1 And it's the better for it. Somehow.
and a little bit of Joy Division, the Happy Mondays, along with a smidgen of Underworld too
My thoughts exactly!
A little bit of Devo thrown in for good measure
I was fortunate to be in the audience yesterday for this performance.
Hearing them live was AMAZING. The energy in the studio kept me revved up for hours.
Same here, I'm addicted now! What a great show!
They are the second best live show I’ve ever seen, right behind Gorillaz
@CWIllustration that must have been insane!
@@sunsetloner I've had that experience with Gorillaz as well - yowza!!
Just can’t get enough of this song… what a joy watching the two ladies throw their voices into the mix
Yea. Reminds me of The Go Team.
The movie was so good and the dance number was a treat it feels very 80's techno and loving it
I thoroughly enjoyed the dance routine to this song that closed the film.
At 66 yrs old I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the soundscape of this group . New Nostalgia .❤
I loooove LCD Soundsystem! I can't help but shaking my arse when I listen to them. They're also an amazing live band. Unbelievable talent!
I was going to comment your first sentence, spelled the exact same way!
Strong early B52's vibes from this piece, and I'm here for it.
With just a dash of David Byrne in the vocals! It's so good.
@@sydposting Absolutely! I thought it was him at first.
@@sydpostingFeel the Byrne!
THat hook is all DEVO. And the tone shifts in the middle have some Bowie fingerprints from his Scary Monsters phase all over it.
@@robkoper841 Maybe not tight enough to be Devo. But I get what you're saying.
He is my hero. If I could choose anyone's singing voice and ability, I would probably choose his. It transcends genre. If you want banging indie dance floor anthems, he has you covered, as he does with ballads, electronic, dance punk, dance funk, indie pop, and a multitude of other genres.
Screw it, I am going to watch it again.
James Murphy is kind of the face of the 2000s dance-punk wave, through the DFA label he basically helped invent the genre in its modern form
This is such an awesome song. The lyrics are really next level, very coded.
LCD Soundsystem does a great job of saying random words that seem meaningless but in the track as a whole they make perfect sense.
That backdrop is literally outta this world! Like they're in orbit.
I had this song stuck in my head all day yesterday, this was a wonderful surprise and great performance! LCD Soundsystem is so fun and dynamic live.
Same dude. Such a great song.
Absolutely. Just the best.❤
Ladies and Gentlemen: LCD Soundsystem--- ---- the Greatest Garage Dad Band EVER !!!😃
Best comment!!!
Dude has a nice voice live. Excellent pitch control
Yes, he does!
A well observed comment!
I've been listening to this non stop for a month. I'm in love with this song!
How have I not heard of LCD Soundsystem until now! I love this mashup of rock and Electronic music!
im jealous of you please listen to their whole discog you will be happy you did
Welcome to the future
Try check out Hot Chip too!
Welcome to the club!!
@@happycrimson i have just done that last month, can confirm I’m now happy
I've seen them live a couple times in NYC and each time they remind me of early New Order with their live sets. Such a great band!
Here after watching White noise, awesome song
same lol
OMG ~ This is the music I loved when I was 18....40 years ago!!!! WOW!!! Everything old is new again...thank God!!!!!
Closed my eyes to listen to this the first time, and I swear the first thing I thought was, "Man, DEVO is sounding hot right now!"
Love LCD Soundsystem: Always reinventing themselves, but they manage somehow stay the same band underneath.
Yep. I was going with DEVO as well.
This band is amazing! This song seriously blew me away it was such a transcendent experience! I love the 80's and this was a bit of Oingo Boingo to me and their own original Modern soulful captivating and great dance songs. Love love this band! 🤩
I'm getting a strong mix of The Smiths and Echo and The Bunnymen vibes here.
Thanks Stephen for having this under appreciated band on the show👏
North American Scum was such a great song
...some people think we're British...
😅
@@weedfreer some people aren’t all that bright😝
Tonite is 🔥 too
I think they get exactly the amount of appreciation they deserve.
under appreciated? they are literally playing a sold out 20 day residency in NY right now
Thank you, Stephen, for introducing me to this fantastic band!
"Dance yourself clean" my anthem.
When they perform this song in the movie, Andre Benjamin’s dancing is fire.
The synth part is so Devo and I'm here for it!
Anybody else hear "The B-52's"! Love It!!!
Incredible band, and I think this song should be nominated for an academy award. Fantastic!
...and bonus points for gigging a PolySynthi. Did a double take when I saw that thing. Sounds wonderful.
holy 80s!! this was kinda nostalgic while being new.
this song is the fucking jam ... and james’ voice live never ceases to amaze. *great* singer.
I can't get enough of this one. Well done!
This song is sooooo innovative and cool!
Great exposure for an almost famous band that greatly deserves it. Go James.
Almost famous? They've headlined the biggest festivals and venues in the world what are you even talking about?
@@MarxAviano There he is, captain literal
@@jameshisself9324 there he is totally predictable guy who desperately needs to believe his favorite band is some kind of underground secret only he's capable of fully appreciating.
@@MarxAviano Damn dude you are really reading a lot into it. Maybe you should just tell me what to say.
LSD sound system aren't really a band that people actually listen to, they are more of a soundtrack band that make obscure songs that play in the credits of movies while everyone walks out of the cinema. Metaphorically speaking of course.
I LOVE. THIS. SONG!! Heard it on Woodstock Radio this year for the first time. Original sound and has an 80s feel to it. Can’t get enough of it. I love how the drummer is front and center for this performance. Love the unpretentious band members’ vibe. I am a huge fan of the B52s and Talking Heads too - my style of band and music and I can’t get enough of them. May they have great success!!
They've been headlining festivals for over two decades, you should check them out sometime!
Oh heck yes! So great to hear new music from the band. Love it- thanks to S.C for hosting them.
sick! came here after watching White Noise! cool ending..
Can't wait to see White Noise. Hope this song gets nominated.
I hope so. That will be epic. Having the band perform at the Oscars
This song is a great, driving dance song with a message that slips through the ribs like a knife and cuts you deep. I took the time to read the lyrics to my wife once I really got the many layers of the message, and I cried. Powerful, emotional, and soul shaking, wrapped in this wacky, off-kilter electronic rock package. It is a real masterpiece.
This track is so damn good
My playlist enjoys being updated everytime I watch your musical guests.
I like how the drummer is up front, the drummer is invariably the most interesting part of any band.
Unless it's Sisters of Mercy
Drummers are necessary, but the most interesting? Far from it.
@@zephyrion theyre doing more work and require more coordination/fitness than anyone else.
@@the0point that doesn't make it interesting. Neil Peart was interesting, sure, but I'd watch Jimmy or Jimmy or Joe or Jerry or Paul or David or Darrell or Eddie or any of those instead of a drummer. Just my opinion man
I missed them, epic live band 🙌🏻
I’ve seen hundreds of acts/concerts/live shows. LCD Soundsystem in 2017 was my favorite. Put 20 people on stage and give each person one job. They do that job perfectly, and it builds to a masterpiece.
Total banger - awesome job guys.
Whiter Noise (Movie) sent me here!! Should be nominated for Song Of The Year, LCD Soundsystems wonderful comeback song and hit in 5 years! Warning: you will get a nice Ear tick from this song, it won't leave ya! Hope they inspire many other bands to finally wake and shake the music industry the F*&% up!
Hope they play this when I see them perform in a few weeks!
I've been listening to this song since it came out but didn't know this live performance existed - fantastic!
Such a retro sound! Excellent!
horrid ftfy
@@CarsonSmith93 they are the best American band of the 2000s
The timing ⏱️ the drummer kept 🥁:)
Great great great band.
it’s great they’re back for another round of residency shows in nyc! long live lcd
This is going straight into my playlist ❤
For anyone wondering what the two huge synthesizers are on stage:
1. Oberheim OB-8
2. EMS Polysynthi
Also, CZcams is a piece of crap. I tried to edit my replies to one person who asked about the synths in the comments and the page kept crashing/reloading.
About fell out of my chair when I spotted the Polysynthi lol. Wonderful to see and hear one on this track!
Sound Engineers for Colbert's show deserve a HUGH RAISE!
So excited for white noise.
Best Song of 2022?
Yeah, I think so.
Absolutely
Older is the new young..for 2023!
best band ever
If I was in the audience I would've been sobbing, what a beautiful performance and song
This is such a good song
I love it and want to hear them do even more new stuff. This band is always interesting.
Alucinante
My. My. My. This is amazing.
Super! Super! Super! Super!
Oh god, now I have to see this live
Visually, LCD will always look like the coolest school teachers that jam out in the staff lounge after hours.
Best band outta NYC since the Ramones
TV on the Radio and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs would like a word
@@vamperon OK all three of them and Interpol lol. Love the NYC 2000s indie rock scene
This song really rocks! Impressed.
Love these guys so much! Great performance!
Wooooow I'm so glad to see these folks getting proper exposure
While "Call the Police" is my favorite of theirs...this one's also a rocker/synth masterpiece, it has that special, cool 80s vibe to it. 😎👌🎵
WOW! fantastic, great performance!
Great and so cool 😎
Holy Shit, I LOVE this!!!! BRILL!!!!!! Thank God for CZcams noodling, lol
Don DeLillo's White Noise + LCD Soundsystem makes this girl's heart real happy!
Great sound!
Kind of takes you on a journey! ❤

LCD Soundsystem rocks it every time 💙🎶🔥🎶

Genius.
its a little talking headish, yes? like it, like them. i like them alot.
that last minute...
I show this to anyone who says interesting music is dead. It's not you just have to look for it.
Saw them at the Fox (Oaktown coketown)
Amazing show.
One of the best bands alive today
I needed this.
From the Uk and love this amazing band. Not unlike …Band .. The Fall.
Saw this live. I'm addicted!
And with that the 80's are BACK BABY! WOO HOO B52's, and Talking Heads! Here we come again...
I'm new to Lcd. That was awesome. I gotta get me some.
