Hi Aliex,
I have an unlimited with xi3. My decision to get that set up was largely influenced by your videos from years ago. I’ve been running the xi3 for over 2 years now and love it. Every issue your taking about it really inexperience with the motor. When you stow the xi3, you need to put it in manual, turn the speed down to 0 and the prop to off. This will prevent what happened to you today because even if you accidentally hit one button, it will not rotate the prop. The second issue people complain about is the pinpoint GPS, you cannot activate “spot lock” while moving or it will throw your ass out the boat as many people have found out. Almost all issues with the xi3 are user error/inexperience. Also, for the remote I use a rogue tether to my life jacket with caribeaner, on the outside of my vest. This is essential, I have had one remote this entire time. Thx for the videos on the U10, seems like I’ll stick with the unlimited.
We can't blame the user for these problems, this motors is sold to people who have little experiences with it. The Minnkotas for example have a remote with a screen you can see whats the status of the motor, you can also adjust several settings. It also has an app, which is perfect if your remote runs out of batter or you forget it (have saved me before) the mk motor i had was trashy too, very slow, in terms of speed I would take the xi3 anyday, but overal i can't. The xi3 will not get better if we just say how wonderful it is.
100% agree with you. Can’t hate a product just cause you’re not sure how to use it. Almost no one is going fast to spotlock. Id love a video of Alex diving deeper into his Xi3 trying to resolve his issues otherwise I’m convinced he’s just trying to ween his audience off of Xi3 to get $$$ from his autoboat affiliation.
@@AliexFolgueiraagree with Aliex. Motor shouldnt praised about. There is always room for improvements. Speed, grass cutting, safer slower ramp for spotlock activation.
I’m gonna get one of these I live in East Texas lots of great fishing, but I must say you got a lot of stuff on that thing!
Hi aliex thank you for your videos this help me to make a decision on what to buy and what not to buy thanks 🤙
Thanks you 👍 it is difficult to make negative videos but gotta keep it real
Aliex, love these type of vids that you do! It's a newer boat, with the NK Pro, and XI3. You're going a mile or two out, seeing how the boat behaves. You're not in a garage, telling us this setup works great. I just watched a vid yesterday. Someone buys a new kayak, loads it all up. Batteries, crate, rods, FF, with a trailer. Then says, it's a great boat and very' stable. But he hasn't taken it out yet!! What?? 😂 🛶 🎣
Inst that interesting ah? They load up the boat never test it and call it amazing and get get tons of love. I load up the boat test it on the water, tell everyone what works or what sucks and then I get attack because I said "nah this motor is not good or whatever"
Thank you Anthony I wish I had a lot of viewers like you
Aliex Next time turn the trolling motor on after you get it in the water! lol It happens bro!
Next time! Lol
Thanks for this comparison. Have you ever used the Aquos Cayman motor with remote control? How do they compare to the Newport models?
i haven't but i think BassMan Strikes Kayak Fishing has one with a Newport mount
Do you prefer the open layout of kayaks like the U10 offers or something with more hatches and features like the Native Titan?
i like the open layout no drivewell if im not planning to use the drive
Only reason I'm getting an Xi3 is anchor mode. Anchor mode on my AutoGPS was TRASH! Would not stay in place at all. Was ALWAYS searching so I sold it for $400.
Forgot to mention i put it on sale on the TBN fb page and got blocked from the group! Moving on to the XI3.
was it setup properly? I know it takes a bit of set up, the xi3 isnt better bro,
I would recommend getting a second remote just in case, beware of the motor issues, when pressing anchor mode it goes crazy, it can turn on by lighly pressing something on the remote without knowing.
That motor would be great if it they would simply make an app for it, for real, or a remote with a screen and allow you to adjust the settings.
@@AliexFolgueira Yes it was setup properly. I talked to many people and they tend to have the same problem with the anchor lock.
You call the Xi3 POS because you accidentally turned it on while picking it up? This is what I meant a few comments ago (if you recall). You can wait to plug it in once you’re in the water OR change the position of your remote when picking it up. I will agree that it is aggressive when spot locking but that’s where you gotta know your equipment. 2 years with mine and haven’t fall off or had any issues. It needs gps recalibration from time to time and there are reasons for interference. Have you recalibrated properly or asked for advice on how to get it to work properly? Maybe defect? That’s what I’m genuinely curious about
I called it pos because it is
The remote breaks often, it is awful, doesn't have a screen
The motor has no app
I has gone crazy so many time
Sometimes it works or doesn't
I can go on and on but I ask why do you have to make so many changes to it and learn how to drive basically so it works well???? I don't get this. When you buy an iPhone you don't go in and adjust the network so you get the call, a car you don't tweak 10 settings so it doesn't go crazy when you press the breaks, it is a bad product and of course it turns on while stowed away lol imagine if you are driving a trailer, it can burn the motor and you won't even realized it was on. Bad product.
Its nice to have spot lock and jog mode on xi3. But yeah, battery life sucks at 100% and speed is trash
@@DoubleDigitAngler I need a lot of refiments and improvements, it won't get there if we just praise it as it is haha like you mentioned
Overkill 😮
gatta over do it! ohhhh i should do the 5 motors on a kayak again soon, what do you think?
@@AliexFolgueira great
Adding two motors looks fun but also excessive, may as well get a motor boat at this point.
It is a little boat though
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I’m back, baby
Help me sell the Bixpy j-2 motor that I have its brand new in the box
Post it on marketplace, that's how I sell stuff
@AliexFolgueira okay thank you
Bro can you seriously do a review of the NewPort NK180Pro? lmao
haha like an actual pros and cons dedicated video? i should! but still need more data, i can do the nk300 i think i have enough experience with it.
posted, I filmed and edited today, let me know what you think
One motor is fine
Thats way to much for a kayak or that kayak. Why would you have a motor in the back and have a trolling motor in the front? Get a skiff if you want all that.
Why get a skiff to do what a kayak can? For example the skiff will required at least a 6hp gas, more money, more weight and did what exactly? I have a little boat I wanna take out more often but it is hard, especially with the marina fees over here
@AliexFolgueira when putting on what you did, you essentially created one and don't need to get a gas one but something that is made for that. Your gonna have the issues you did with a 10' kayak. Maybe even a 12'. But your going away from having a kayak and trying to turn a potato into a apple in words. What you would spend on all of that plus the kayak you could just get a used boat.
@@sethscott4211 no bro this is a 1.8hp motor it weighs 15#, can move this at 4.5 mph it is still a kayak, fits in the bed of my truck without the need of an extender or trailer. If you gonna deal with the weight and size of a skiff you better off powering it properly.
Also this argument of "you get all this in an used boat" is complete lie, go do some research on it, find me an used boat with a GPS telling motor and a decent outboard for less money than this, go.
@AliexFolgueira Facebook market place can be a poor man's dream. Canoes hybrids that I can't spell the name to small skiff. I've been looking for a long time at all types of variations and what you made was a unsafe homeless man's boat lol. No one should over load any vessel. That was way over board lol.
