I played at an average NAIA school in the mid 2000's, and some of the stuff we put freshmen through was hilarious. I can't imagine what happens with all those alphas on the NFL level.

I think that JJ Watt said it best. Off the field, we are the nicest people you can ever meet, but when we hit the turf, we will be the baddest MFers on the field PERIOD. Coach Obrien gets hot on the field, but the way he treats his family is awesome!!! I got mad respect for him after watching this. Hard Knocks really hits HARD

Honestly, after the boring mess that was the 2012 Dolphins' coaching staff, I have to say I've fallen in love with this coaching staff in Houston. Bill O'Brien might be a really bad GM, but I'll be damned if I said I wouldn't want to play for him. The players really seem like and respect and he brings a lot of energy to that locker room.
I also see why Vrabel has made it as a head coach. Same type of energy that brings the best out of you.

I could just watch JJ Watt practice everyday. He's on whole other level.
You can see why Vrabel has been successful as a head coach. That energy you only see from a few head coaches. McVay, Pete Carrol, Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin. All different guys but they’re all very engaging that’s the difference maker. They know how to talk to their players and some guys - like a Mike McCarthy or a Hue Jackson - just can’t connect with dudes it isn’t natural for them. They’re all smart guys but getting their players to be down for the team is another level.

Watching this in 2021 is like watching a greek tragedy. In 2015 BoB looked like a brilliant and hard working coach with a talented staff, just a couple of pieces away from really putting it all together. Now in 2021, after BoB was given the GM position, after he got in his head that he knew better than his athletes, he's now without a job and has lost all his previously earned respect. From "I care about the humans" to trading away one of his stars because of a personal dispute and getting on the bad side of a notoriously easy to work with JJ Watt. Truly an amazing piece of history.
