Many people seems to have a misconception about the department. Firstly, unlike other police services wherein one is required to go through training after selection, here in HG is different. First they'll put up a notification inviting interested individuals for VOLUNTARY training (Appointment is not guaranteed) after the training, they'll be called upon whenever needed... and if the need arises for requisition, they'll select from the trained volunteers to be inducted in as HomeGuard Personnel... Btw, HomeGuard is not a regularized govt. job as in they do not enjoy the benefits like other govt. servants do... They work on daily wage system. Hope this clarifies most of the misconceptions.
Congrats to all who got the appointment. And those who think that this is unfair can we think in a real way cos the reality is, this is a government service we are seeing and I believe it is nearly impossible to employ more than 200 members at once (correct me if I'm wrong) and all should be understandable and wait for their turns as the fight started and it is showing results. Chill.. They took it because they've no option. May be their financial side is weak or so and so. Just because you were shot doesn't mean even your friend should be shot dead. Be logical. Govt cannot appoint more than 100 jobs in one go. Also those who didn't get should fight like them and get one by one. It's impossible to sanction money for 200+ people that are left. So it was wise of them to take it.
