- "Tim Duncan Defensive Highlights Compilation" is a defense compilation mix I made for the Greatest Power Forward Ever, Tim Duncan. It includes the defensive highlights of Tim Duncan in early
years and his prime. However, it did not cover many great defensive plays of him, for more plays, you can refer to my Tim Duncan Top 100 Plays.

I did not include some of the best plays of Duncan in that video. For more defensive plays, you can refer to my Tim Duncan Top 100 Plays video:

The thing with Tim Duncan, it wasn’t just about the great blocks. It was about his timing and positioning. Always ready to help out and contest anything going towards the rim. Not to mention his positioning also forced a lot of players to pass when they didn’t want to.
Not only about that, there's a stat showing Timmy is the one with most blocks diverted opponents' shots to his own team
@@zhugelianges You can see how true it is in this video, he practically always blocks the shot down back into the floor or keeps it soft and quick, zero times did he just smash it into the stands even if he had the opportunity to do so. Crazy how he keeps the ball in bounds on blocks even when he's directly under the basket/right next to the boundary, you rarely see that so consistently
Could duncan defend the perimeter or was he just a post defender?
@@anonymoususer2080 he was a pretty decent perimeter defender for a power forward
Imagine a universe where Duncan never had a major injury. He probably would have more rings than Jordan. Getting 5 rings the way he did should get him more respect, but he's not flashy so he goes under the radar. One of the best big men of all time.
He’d probably still be playing
Ray Allen...6-0...
He is the BEST PF of all time. Timmy D gets his shine from real hoopers. They know what Big Fundamental was doing to cats.
Jordan would still be better🐐🐐🐐
@@november243MJ overrated 🤮
He's amazing and so underrated. For a 7-footer to have that tight defense just AMAZING!
I mean the dude is arguably one of the smartest players to ever play the game. Man was a threat on both offense and defense. No one did it better than Timmy 🤷♂️
Greatest defender of all time without a DPOY
It's a shame on DPOY, not on Tim Duncan
The greatest 6'11 player in nba history
Agree, so true
Love this!
Him running so fast when he was young is quite scary!
Miss young Timmy...
Fast and simple, use his fundamentals to dominate every opponents
Was already the best player in the league in his 2nd year, amazing
Love it when it's shown how strong defense leads to offensive opportunities. I think this is missing from today's game.
I'd much rather see two forces battle it out for every point than to see a bunch of kids scoring on each other at will, personally.
Lmao
The offense today is miles better. Everyone is a threat.
Duncan was really fast when he was young, look at him sprinting on the fastbreak
Duncan was a BEAST when he had two legs
Sad that he had knee injuries during his mid - career...
@@zhugelianges that didnt stop him, his fundamentals made him a complete and consistent player.
"The Greatest Power Forward Who Ever Played The Game" by NBA Legends
More that that. In my opinion, he is All-time Top 5
Battle Shaq down low and then lead the scoring for your team. Man, the things you had to do back then in order to survive the brutal West Conf
I know Shaq is Shaq but it's pretty incredible the job Duncan did on him defensively.
Yes, Shaq was pretty dominant that day, and I think Timmy is the only person that could match up with him on that era....No offense on Shaq though.
Thanks for your comment, bro!
@@zhugelianges Also Hakeem and David Robinson
Very true.
Thanks for your comment, bro
If he don’t block it he’ll change your shot or force you to pass
Indeed, there's even stats report showing so
His resume should be in the GOAT conversation and not just greatest power forward of all time.
dont know why he hasnt won DPOY
Maybe because of his style, no flashy block, no shining blocking stats, just about defense. Plain and simple.
@@zhugelianges i think he made 10 defensive 1st team
@@vanmalsawma4201 Ya you are right, indeed I think if TD has any regular season putting numbers putting his 2003 playoffs numbers, he would won 1+ DPOY
@@zhugelianges anyway DPOY or not to me one of the best ever go spurs go
Simple but effective 🤩😍
I really like your Duncan videos. This one is my favorite one, Duncan was such a great defender in his prime.
Have you thought about similar video about Bill Russell? I've always thought about him as a combination of Hakeem and Duncan on defense.
To be honest, I've never watched Bill Russell's games before, but surely I could make one similar video for him =]
@@zhugelianges I'd highly appreciate that!

Here are the most complete games with Bill Russell in full display. I'd like to see what do you think about his defense as you seem to have good scouting eye.
Done. Let's have a look.

70sFan Tim Duncan was a great defender his whole career not just in his prime.
Only Timmy and Rodman can guard Prime Shaq.. Whew awesome! ❤❤❤
Ben Wallace?
Agree with you bro
What Ben Wallace defend is just a post-prime Shaq, not the same with the one Timmy and Rodman defend on.
Malik Rose held Shaq at 40 points
One of the best centers ever. Great video
Bro, I always love your support, but he is not a center😂
Power Forward dude
Under appreciated
True, not many people appreciate the greatness of Timmy...
Goddamn I miss when nba allowed physicality. Doesn’t look a damn thing like today’s all star three point contest err I mean games
Today NBA is SOFT...
Ridiculous that he never won a DPOY.
Tim was the greatest player of all time fundamentally
Man NBA back in the days was rough and tough, I can see suspensions in current nba format.
please upload Tim Duncan blocks compilation
no problem
Can u do james harden's defensive highlights
lol I love your sense of humor bro 😂
Wait bro, I will think about it, probably can make one after the requests from other bros 😂
bro u cant upload nothing on youtube
Dont disrespect James harden. Hes one of the best defenders in the NBA 😤
Common phrase you'll hear in this video: BLOCKED BY DUNCAN!
Lol
also:duncan got a piece of it
There aren't too many player can face to face block on Shaq
And please remember, this is PRIME SHAQ
And Timmy did it quite a number of times
Duncan is # 5 in career Blocks #1 Olajuwon #2 Mutombo #3 Kareem #4 Eaton
Forget Lebron, Timmy should be in GOAT talk
The fundamentals on the defensive end as well, didn’t chase blocks.
Lol i had nooo idea he blocked shaq that many times
Do not forget Kobe.
I really missed Duncan. Look how destructible he is in his prime.
If Spurs had prime Tim Duncan, GSW may have something to worry about...
@@zhugelianges GSW wont mean a thing if Spurs have prime manu, duncan and parker.
I still remember how 03' TD crushed Shaq in both ends of the floor and win the champion all the way with a mediocre line-up...
He would have Jokic eating out the palm of his hand.
wondered why he didnt win dpoy
Most. Doing video ever
Thanks!
Would you start a franchise with any other player?
Surely NO!!! lol
Lebron
Absolutely not Timmy D the 🐐
@@dennissmith3624 bron
Did he routinely shut down tiny Shaq?
史上 top5 內線
認同你=]
I keep thinking how AD or Giannis would fare defending against early 2000s Shaq.
No, come on, we all know that Giannis and AD can't defend Shaq lol
Mike when double teamed, passed to kerr or kukoc, escapes and comes back in position to shoot. Kobe on the other hand..... wont pass.
Anyone here from meme
What meme said lol
So much fouls
Rudy's defense similar to Tim Duncan.
Who’s Rudy?
