- We have a lot to cover today, from SpaceX making huge strides with Starship development and the completion of Boca Chica Tower 2, while Blue Origin face new New Glenn Setbacks, and Rocket Factory Augsberg suffered a catastrophic failure of their RFA-1 first stage during hotfre testing. Additionally, Boeing was dealt a devastating blow as NASA announced it was not confident that Starliner is safe for crew return, and as such will need SpaceX’s Crew Dragon to rescue Butch and Suni.

When people started speculating that starliner could be rescued by spacex i didn't belive that could be the case, but now that it has been confirmed my stance on it is just "yeah, that makes sense"

I remember watching a boeing launch stream online and the chat was constantly making jokes like "if it's a boeing, it ain't going" and "3 hours until a scrub". Can't believe they actually got stuck in space because of (another) faulty boeing vehicle.

I love my Job! It makes it possible for me to catch a glimpse of SpaceX Progress with huge delays! I'm so exhausted by the time I get home, it feels like a months has passed in between these videos! Which is basically what happens. The last time I saw STW, the tower was at 2/3rd completion. Because I pass TF out when I get off, time has really ramped up! I need a vacation...
I can't WAIT for next week's episode!!! It's gonna be a very exciting week!!

Flight two is only a success if you ignore that it didn't perform the "Automatic docking" procedure and needed to be hand flown. Also it didn't perform the reentry segment with crew in it.. The rocket is the only thing that worked as expected. The pnly thing keeping it flying is their rich and powerful lobbyists.

Why doesn't any ocean salvage team recover ship 29? Seems like there'd be more to learn from it, especially since we barely had one camera view.
There are cameras viewing the important parts of the ship that are being tested. The cameras provide all the information needed. And if the ship does manage to survive reentry & land successfully, then all the important mechanical parts worked almost perfectly, so recovering the ship would most likely not reveal that much other than what was already seen on the cameras.
Starliner is embarrassingly bad, this should be fun to watch
boeing needs to be stopped and the faa and other national aerospace agencies should think about grounding every boeing build aircraft build in the last 10 years until they are checked
If Starliner performs s intended during return to earth, Boeing might have a chance of surviving this. If Starliner is destroyed....no way. And Bill Nelson will be hailed as a HERO, as he made this decision based on the right stuff. He already did good in my book by openly admitting two shuttles were lost due to bad management.
If Trump wins, I hope he keeps Nelson as Admin for a while. If not I hope he brings Jim Bridenstine back.

I do think it will be interesting for them to compare since they will have been on both crew vehicles. Maybe crew dragon is more comfortable, but the controls are better on star liner......or maybe starliner is just trash by comparison. Who knows.

Boeing was once the 'go to' for quality and innovation - the Jumbo Jet. It is sad to see it now - there is a lot of hyperbole about but this is humiliating for all concerned except Space X.

I have another thing to say to be honest, America and NASA need SpaceX more than ever rather than Boeing. Once that contract ends, NASA can go with SpaceX and we can get the real shit done. Finally. I bet you in the 2030s will have Ariel and landing craft that can go from ground to space and back at this point. By 2040 I mean things will hit the fan real quick. We advance so quickly. It's crazy but we can get done in such a little time. 300 years ago we did not have photographs. Now we have the internet and videos and we can see everything with your own discretion

They should cancel starliner. It's a joke. I am sad about blue origin. I do want them to succeed. I want boeing to vanish off the scene. I want SLS to be canceled too. It's too expensive.
They wont. They need Starliner in case a Dragon suffers a disaster, that's a real possibility in space launches. They chose SL as their other option, now it's too late to change course.
