also appreciate the shoutout to us northerners. I am in NE Pennsylvania and Mother Nature can’t decide what season it is. There no ice to even ice fish at this point yet it’s too cold and windy to take a boat out most days. Cabin feva is REAL !
Your fishing rising water.. during that time bass gonna be predominantly be eating crayfish. Hence you jig is was working so well.
I’m glad you didn’t take that casting mishap and cut it out of the video… I was power casting a pre-rigged mag draft and grabbed one of my rods with the treble and threw it about 100 feet into the lake. I happen to be right in front of a family swimming near their dock… It was worth a laugh for all of us, and I smoothly reeled my rod back in to the boat 😂
Here in Northern AZ, we've gotten about 50" of snow this new year & it's been tough. Thanks for the video Greg, it's like medicine for some of us😜💯

I don’t know being a “Northern” fisherman I enjoyed bringing those 14” perch through that 8” hole the last few days ! Love my open water fishing from my Ranger but really love that quiet solitude of ice fishing and no jet ski’s and wake boarders !

Man I’ve been loving winter fishing this year. It was about 34° here in TN on Thursday. Felt more like 25° but I layered up and pulled in about a 12lb bag. Winter fishing can be awesome if you figure out what they want. Good job, man. Congrats on the recent win as well!

Nice day out. Yep I think there feeding a lot right now because everything is moving as far as the water. Lots of cover now that the lakes are filling up. But they sense the water coming in mixing things up. I caught a nice one off a point & just before I caught it a saw a crayfish go by right in front of me. It was right across from where the main flow is coming in.

Greetings from San Diego!! I saw a few open craw dens so they crawled out from their flooded riverbed holes last week. Makes sense that they would be emerging and moving uphill to the shoreline.
You throwing the ned jig is too good I have been straight whacking em with it now for a couple years our big spots really love the finesse profile and it catches mags !

Been there done that.....at susquehanna hobie i was casting a bx brat and hit my rod behind me, huge backlash bait plopped in water like 10 ft away. I was trying to pull out backlash and a huge fish exploded on the floating crankbait and ran with it, i tried to fight him with reel in a knot, when he got to knot he broke line. it was good fun. lol. i was pissed cuz i didnt have a limit yet.
Leave the scale at home. No need to weigh every one. Just have fun catch fish and move forward to progress! Nice spots my pb spot is a 3.5. Been wanting to catch a 5 but not sure if my fisheries have them l

Nice day of fishing Greg, great stuff! I think dragging the ned jig uphill is working better because it's staying in contact with the bottom easier vs. trying go downhill and keeping on bottom. FYI, last year when i saw you using this technique (it might have been up at Shasta), I went out and got some z-man micro jigs and put TRD's on, caught two at my local lake that were >6 pounds (on medium light spinning with 6 lb. test, needless to say it was a thrill getting them in). I love the ned jig!
6:45 EVERY TRIP on the kayak usually happens with a snag or treble hooks. Wrapping in my net, kayak handles, other poles. Ugh the struggle is real. Probably why I smoke, and take that 5 minute breather.
Hey atleast you didn't throw your rods in the lake like I did when I hung my crank up in the a few years ago flipped back and casted real quick and sent 3 rods overboard, fortunately a my buddy also had a crank on and was able the swipe all three and get them back in the boat LOL. As for that pattern I'd say they were set up to ambush bait moving up, sometimes rising water is warmer and will cause bait to move up, which bass react to. Those almost looked like they might be pre spawn fish as fat as they were, might have a early spawn this year.
