I was there shortly after that accident happened. I'm not sure how it happened, but they were already rerouting us to the off ramp just prior to the accident. They had three wreckers stationed on the on-ramp, I asked the cameraman from the local news what the hold up was, and he said they were waiting on the divers to show up to remove the driver who was still in the cab under water (RIP to the driver and condolences to his family)

Thank God for helping Orwell get the job done so that you could get him home to take care of his air-fuel mixture diaphram replaced. You're observations on the realities of the way oversise loads (width) should be required curriculum material for all truck driving schools and the subsequent training by the emploers who hire the rookies to prepare them to deal with both the ignorant/non-caring 4 & 18 wheelers that will be encountered every day. I think my proposal should aplly to all fifty State's Department of Motor Vehicles training criteria to obtain a Driver's License (4 wheelers." This fan appreciates your efforts to educate us non-commercial drivers on the harsh realities that Oversize Hauling Drivers facebon the road.
Im surprised the manufacturer doesn't ship the truck with the nozzles on the truck in some sort of narrower "shipping position" that would make the load not need an escort. I suppose direct to customer, no assembly required.........
You cut out the entire part of the trip from the Charter Oak Bridge up to the entrance to 90 in Sturbridge. I wanted to see how well Orwell in its current condition would handle the hills on 84 from exit 67 up to the Mass line.

I just had to replace the diaphragm on my B model last week. It's an eight dollar part. I did have to pay an hour labor but what a difference.
Was that one of those frito lay electric vehicles that was being towed? Their fleet out here in California travels like that on a regular basis. Doesn’t matter if it is a semi or a local delivery vehicle, they just cannot do the job. The semis are usually on an RGN flatbed, guy driving the flatbed says he gets one almost everyday!

It was governed at 65 MPH max, when it got to 65, it was like someone threw out an anchor. I bet that's what happened in this video.

Holy hell that's not good. We are always called to accident's all the time cause we own a wrecker service and we have dealt with serious accidents and we are like dam that's terrible. One accident was so bad we had to get all the wrecker's to the scene and tow vehicle's. And RVs and 2 semi's lucky everyone survived except for the person who causes it a driver who was driving while intoxicated. Jesse has to dive in the water and chained up the SUV (DWI Driver was in) to bring it up to the surface and onto our trailer to get transported to the highway patrol department for them to investigate. If we have to escort semi's or wife transport vehicle's and they cuss me out. Trust me I will let them know you don't mess with me. We also have PA system on our escort vehicle's and I had semi's block a driver who kept trying to get between us and the transport vehicle to slow down. He was not happy about that he called 911 who was like then quit blocking the vehicle's he got arrested. Hell we had that same issue when we tried to unload a rig like that one. And it kept locking the brakes and Jesse kept disengaging the brakes and they kept locking baxk up. He hollered at one of the company worker's and they said u gotta put your seatbelt on. Sure enough he did and he was able to release the brake and unload it. Hopefully u was able to get to your shop and find out what was the issue Jessie.
I don’t know if you read all your messages anyway here’s mine. I drove company for 13 years mostly reefer. Love the cab over. Never had a desire to do flat beds or lowboys. With all new trucks with their safety features. You MUST have your feet on the break for the truck, machine or anything to move but even with that, their is to many god damn safety feature on the truck, Its like you child proof the jar of candy with so many locks to open lid of the jar but its more for adult proof to make it hard to drive the vehicle.. He just blew an air fuel control diaphragm, so he's running about 50% power tops, the machine isn't damaged beyond repair just needs the diaphragm/valve replaced.
Sad accident for sure. You know The Terminator "drove" a cab over near the end of the movie. I think it was an International. That movie came out in 1984. Actually they used a small model truck in that scene. Stay safe.

People are always in such a rush. They really don't think that couple minutes quicker they might get somewhere could cost them there lives. I've moved wide loads all over the country.
