- I am a Shimano Tourney fan, this low end components used to perform quite good for the money, but lately I've been noticing these are getting more and more fragile, compromising durability and relaibility. These time I'm giving a chance to the Btwin rear derailleur from Decathlon, it costs 12€ and it seems a lot more sturdier

I've just got 1 of these for 12 pounds from decathlon just tested around some big hill climbs so far so good
Yeah, these are good value for money, mine performed better than I expected
@@paths2go I’ll upload a vid in around 1 hour on how it performed up the hills
@@tony3444 cool! ✌️
Just fitted one of these on a 9-speed mid-drive ebike build and its working flawlessly so far after 200km. €13 here in Ireland, so if it packs in I'll just go get another.
These work awesome, maybe a tad better than an Acera
For me too this feels better than Shimano Tourney
Agreed, nice shifting when properly adjusted and sturdier than tourney
This is microshift derailleur just named btwin
You're right, they rebrand it
I just broke my derailleur shimano tourney 8 speed, for the 2nd time. Which one should I buy now? Please suggest me
I recommend going to a Shimano acera, but if you want a cheap solid performer grab one of these at a Decathlon store (or get a Microshift, they rebranded to btwin after all) and it will do the work. Hope that helps ✌️
Hey I am planning to buy it can you give a review or something
I've been using it since then and I can say it does the job pretty well, I only had to spend a bit more time micro adjusting it to make the gear change spot on, but since then it has worked flawlessly, indeed better than Shimano Tourney. I'll try to make a vid on the following days talking about it
how do you install the shifter cable into the derailleur. i always have to bend it 90 degrees to go in
Don't understand, do you mean securing the cable on the screw? I passed the cable right below the screw and secured tight if I can remember
@@paths2go ohh i see, thank you!
what is your cassete?
Shimano 11-28
Any updates on this btwin derailleur?
After using it almost everyday since the making of this video, most of the time off-road use, I say it's on the shimano Acera level. Very sturdy and shifting works great
Pls suggest me a good 9 speed derailleur . But not so expensive
To be honest I haven't tried this derrailleur on a 9 speed, but they say it's made for it. On a 7 speed this btwin works great, at the point that when I need to replace it I will buy it again 👍
@@paths2go so i should go for this or I should take a look for another one ?
@@adityachaturvedi9810 It depends on many factors like budget, if you feel you will be better served by investing a bit more and you have the money for a pricier option it does no harm reading some reviews on those more expensive models. My take on this btwin model is that it's very hard to beat what you get for the money. It has great value for money
@@paths2go Is this better than Shimano Alivio shadow ?
The shadow Alivio is now in another level, If you can afford the shadow go for it, you will get a newer technology. I put this btwin derrailleur at the level of a Shimano Acera or the older Alivio
What's the price??
I remember I paid 12€
