He seems very passionate about that pencil.
He's john pilot wick.
Hey that pencil will save your life just saying
@@bradbrandon2506 it can if you need to do quick math during combat.
@@herosjourney8725 and flight too
tbh, pens are a precious commodity in the military, and just like in school: "You let someone borrow it, it will disappear"
I like how it turned into a pen review
lol
Happened while writing the script ;)
I'm particular about my pens too, just not the same ones as in the video.
I love the cheap phone ear buds and ice pack solution in a 35 miliion dollar jet. Goes to show practicality doesn't have to be high tech or spendy. Enjoyef the video a lot👌🏼
95 million
@@veinfein9192 the earlier batch would have cost in the range of 120million or higher, prices have come down and also the variant matters. Standard A ("cheapest") , B with the STVOL (cost the most, due complexity), C for carrier version.
@@biIIybob858 Dont think the comms support bluetooth buddy
You can always go for cheap stuff but more often than not, it will fail on when you need it the most. Always go for high value quality, it will be cheaper in the long run. That doesn’t mean you cannot bargain during purchase.
It shows the lack of planing of our government officials
As a kid of the 90s mechanical pencils were everything. That mechanical pencil you showed would’ve gotten me major street cred 😆
I remember..u was a boss if you had a mechanical pencil in my middle school
In my book, mechanical pencils still get you major street cred.
Oh yeah. That and magnetic compass boxes. If you had both, you ruled.
"I need a helmet bag"

First, you need a big(!) pilot watch.💪
The pantons..."they not that great" i caught that low blow against the brotherly competition sqaud.😂
😂🤣🤣🤣
This is definitely in my top 10 favorite videos. What a time to be alive. I’d normally have to try and fail repeatedly to strike up a conversation with a crusty aviator at an air show for this info.
OMG I have my grandfather’s knee board that he flew with in Korea as a fighter pilot, good to see they haven’t moved past them yet

Happy early Memorial Day everyone. Thank you Hasard and every other active and retired servicemember for their service.
I’m surprised there are so many “3rd party” objects they are allowed to have.
It probably goes through security check first.
Steve so a lot of the 3rd party items are screened by security personnel. However a lot of them require them to be manufactured in the US.
but where is the bag stashed? in the cockpit? theres' hardly any room/ How about snacks?
@@Defender78 Behind the seat probably
At 00:12 in he says "This is not the gear I go into combat with this is the gear I train with."
Thank you for the continued videos and helping fuel motivation. Have already completed my AFOQT and the TBAS and should be ready to start applying before the end of the year. Finishing my degree has been a real challenge but just a means to an end goal. Thankfully surrounded by good mentors that are also pushing me and even took me to the sim pits on base and said I handled it like a natural. Also thankful to have flight supervision and commanders knowing my goals and ready to put in their recommendations after I put in my part of the work.
So basically, every arcade game simulates an F 35 helmet, interesting, nice content as always!
It’s the other way around. First were the arcade games. Inspired by these, they designed the F-35 HMD content. 😎
Great channel Hasard! Us older guys has passed our chance to become fighter pilots, still cool to live our fighter pilot dreams vicariously through your stories. I also augment that by flying RC planes from the cockpit using head-tracking FPV cameras. The F-35 helmet mounted displays are similar to flight info displays on our goggles - OSD - on screen display. I find canopy frame like the one on F-35 hampers formation flying and dog fight performance because it blocks views of lead/bogie at times. Do you find that comparing the frameless canopy F-16 vs the F-35?
Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying the channel. Very cool on the RC side
I enjoy this channel so much, Hasard. The work you put into is very noticeable and commendable. Thanks for your service and this channel.
Hey Hasard, I'm curious about something. I flew the F-15c with the 43rd tfs out at Elmendorf, oh so long ago...far before augmented reality.
When you're in the mode that lets you look "through" the jet, doesn't that lead to spatial disorientation/LOC scenarios? I'm thinking at least partially of the F-104 accident rate because pilots couldn't catch even a glimpse of the leading edges of their wings, except in rearview mirrors.
I'm assuming you can cycle through this mode quickly, which may alleviate the problem, and of course...practice. But I'm curious, as looking around and seeing only sky seems simultaneously disconcerting and cool as hell!
Thanks brother
Great question...he is probably not aware of your comment...
@@Za7a7aZ I assume not ;)
Oh I feel motion sickness from just reading this lol
Another great presentation, thanks Hasard!
I always tuned on to your videos h.lee thanks for always sharing ❤
I love the professionalism of this gentleman.
He is super clear in his explanations and gives us an idea of what he does but still without revealing any sensitive information. For example the analogy of the pizza shops for the Helmet mounted display was genius, it gave us an idea but didn’t give away anything really
Hey Hasard great 👍 video , thanks for the tips , some details make all difference and we do look for flight gear for years !!! Keep up the great channel 👌
Hazard, you should do a video about the preparations and lead up events before a deployment overseas, and what it’s like during that flight for many hours. Your videos are great to watch and provide a lot of insight, thanks.
Really enjoy the insight! Loving your channel too! Stay safe and thank you for your service!!!
Love the Blue's vip pass out clip.
Hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend Hasard !! USA 🇺🇸! USA 🇺🇸! USA 🇺🇸!
Thank you for your service. Maybe I'll be seeing you on the other side somewhere around October but the Air Force is a big place!
I really enjoy your channel. Thanks
The video I’ve been waiting for! Thanks Hasard!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Very informative, thank you!
Very cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
I have a nephew in high school with dreams of being a fighter pilot, will definitely send him to this channel. Thanks Hasard.
Cool videos 👍🏼 thanks for sharing your pilot experience and for serving our country 🇺🇸
Thank you, love you videos
Great information thank you for sharing!!
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
Awesome information!! Thank you...
Love the way the helmet allows the pilot to look through their aircraft. Absolutely incredible.
Nice video man!!
Great effort ! Keep it up .👍
Amazing video hasard!! Keep it coming!!
Awesome to hear, will do!
These videos are dope! Thanks for taking the civilian into the plane with you!
Love your channel, very informative 👍🇺🇲
I am a TACP/JTAC and you are right about making sure you can hear clearly everything I read for the 9 line brief.
Great job
2:13 I love the little shade you threw lol
Great video
Fun video and I learned a lot. Stay safe everyone!
Very good video.
Thanks for showing your gear , Captain ! Happy Landings .
I like to hear you explain everything very well😊😘
The ice pack solution is brilliant. Sometimes simple is best. At work some people have a very expensive in van computer holder. To save on space. I tie computer via handle to steering wheel with chord. Job done😃
That V5 pen I've used for years and years and years for art. It's non-gel ink so it doesn't jam and the tip is super fine point.
This is lit🔥
Combat gear checklist would be a great video as well. Survivor gear, weapon, MRE,and location beacon ,etc. Would be really neat to see what protocol is if you lose aircraft behind enemy lines and have to bail.
I was stationed at Kunsan from 04-05 for the army!!
@hasardlee Do you think you can do a video explaining how Radio coms intertwine? (Like in movies, how are fighter pilots always able to just tune into other flying aircraft) as well as ground troop commo!? Love your vids man. Keep em coming!
Ice packs were my excuse to keep myself cool at school. I did this in Grade 5 and stopped as the school secretary found out why and gave me a bandage instead or just told me to walk it off. 😂😂
Amazing 🤩
I have to say I’m really enjoying your videos. A quick question, do you wear the G suit if you’re just transferring from one base to another?
Also don’t undervalue the importance of an accurate watch. If you have an instrument failure then your watch could become a vital piece like what happened to Apollo 13.
I know you prefer just a plain water bottle but I suggest you check out the Camelpak water bottles as they are soft, insulated and have a safety valve.
love the helmet ..its so cool
Thankyou
Totally cool watch, what kind of strap is that?
Thanks for video
Bremont alt1z, Starts at $5795.00. Exactly why I bought the nylon wrap watchband at Army surplus for my 10yr anniversary watch from Schneider National Carriers,Thank You!🤓
What Is Good? Loved your comment about the Pantons!!
Thanks for the great info, but just one question. What app do you use on your ipad for the airport info, checks and other information?
Thank you
Hasard, love your videos!
Can you tell us where you got that impressive F-35 scale model in the background?
Awesome !!! All the fighter jet pilot is very awesome !!!
Excellent channel for aviation snippets , I have doubt regarding the clearances u get for uploading these videos while in active service. Is there a policy in USAF regard that? In my country it’s not possible for serving person to maintain a social media channel
Can you do a video on how you became a fighter pilot? Keep up the great content.
Thank you for your kind information Harsard sir, from india 🇮🇳.
Nice vid but you really need a proper aviators’ watch. I fly with the old version of the Breitling Emergency but there are also great mechanical Breitling watches, one day I hope to buy the Navytimer. Cheers!
No idea what else is left out but they carry an M-11 or sig p228 in combat or at least Navy pilots did if you were wondering about the sidearm.
Hey Hazzard, I’m an ex British Army JTAC & spoke to our great USA pilots many times giving out the 9 lines. Best wishes mate.
Busting on the sister squadron - a tradition as old as the 2nd ever fighter squadron, lol!
Could you possibly do an overview of your combat gear?
If Hasard won't be breaking protocol I would like to know what goes into a COMBAT flight bag! I also have the Skillcraft multi-pen that I keep in my bag, I needed that red ink to highlight contract discrepancies.
idk why but i never thought about how helmet weight would effect how many gs you could pull, also i want that f-35 helmet so bad even just a cosplay version
What about something to snack on like an energy or protein bar? I'd also include something like a mini altoids tin with maybe a few ibuprofen, antacid pills like Tums, allergy tabs,.
@Hasard Lee Do you have a technique to prevent your pen from falling and having to pull the seat to retrieve it?
Hasard, how much is that watch- that is AWSOME.... I want to buy one of those
Cool info on the working of f35,best wishes from India
Make a Part 2 about your combat gear! :)
You said at the beginning "daily training" it would be awesome if you could do a video elaborating.
I was looking forward to a demonstration of the helmet's abilities in greater depth. The ability to look through the aircraft superstructure is an amazing visual aid, however uncomfortable it may be? I am guessing that you can select between modes very rapidly for your needs?
Nice
2:13 "they're not that great" haha
I wanna know more about that F-35 model in the back. I would love one just like that
Hasard Sir. I know that space is at a premium in your cockpit. Where do you store a bag and a water bottle ( or several) when you are maneuvering around?
I can’t imagine the F-35 has a built in water cup holder!
Also, if you fly to another base for training for a few days, where do you store your bag? Has to be in the bomb bay, right? Again, I can’t imagine that it comes with room for an overnight bag in the cockpit.
Of course we are only interested in what you carry when going out for a combat situation.. I think its a must for a fighter pilot to wear a watch...just in case you loose your plane behind enemy lines..
ALOT has changed SINCE my A4M days w/VMA-214 76'-80'
Awesome, I’m in Korea right right now!
Have you tried a straw that goes through the cap of the water bottle useful?
merry Christmas
My grandfather was stationed at that airbase, as well as Kadena
I like so much your BREMONT F-35 WATCH,where did you buy that watch?
Out of curiosity, does your watch (with the timed gears) lose time over a sustained amount of time at high g loads?
Unrelated, how long does the average fighter abstain from alcohol prior to flight. I ask that because I fly precision civilian helicopter, and if I have a beer or 2 the night before, I feel ‘foggy’ the next day.
say in the event that the helmet breaks, would it render the jet almost useless? or are there fail safe system put in place in case that happens?
Hey Hansard what are the name of the iems you use? I wanna see if they are good for gaming since they have isolation
Thank you sir
🇮🇳🕉️🙏
Well , the watch is indeed a work of art
What is your favourite MultiTool and Flashlight to carry? Huge obsession with pens, multitools, and flashlights as an Aeronautical Engineer.
what shoes do pilots wear? Is it a standard combat boot? Does it hook into the g suit to push against g?
