Hi! I just wanted to point out that for the beginning, it's actually an alto saxophone that is playing the melody, but yes, the trumpet does play a little bit of the melody later on :))
as someone who plays trumpet and horn, it isnt much diffrent than trumpet, just diffrent fingerings and key

This song gets me emotional. I dont know if I'll find any other allshore dweebs out here but.. this song was my favorite. It carries memories of my old band director ,who everyone adored, letting me do what no other kid has done in ages and audition in 6th grade. Most started in 7th. I got 16th chair that year, but this song made me content. I wish they included the whole song because the entire thing was mesmerizing. This is my 8th grade year, third time trying out. I really hope they put this song in again. God, this is the song that ended off the concert we did that year and I sincerely regret not photocopying my sheet music. If you get this piece in band, c h e r i s h I t. Excuse my rambling.. 😅
no I can totally agree. it makes me tear up when I hear it. I got into an argument with a friend, and we did this and I broke out in tears remembering memories and things. I don’t know why but yeah
@@xxlucy_choco2599 yo very interesting time replying, my allshore auditions are in about 10 n a half hours :0 Viva la Vida still gets me emotional but it's been like 6 years since I played it and there might be a marginal chance it gets reused so if it does I'm about to have flashbacks (I play bass clarinet now, so it'll have a similar part to the 3rd clarinet I had the first time around,,, still auditioning on soprano clarinet but yeehaw big instrument go brr)
you goin into college now? its so strange to see someone the same age as me who is now becoming an adult. and who knows, someday you'll be in your 20s, ill be graduating high school, someone will reply to this comment, and i wont even remember making it. i also played this in band class, i play trumpet btw
@@cat47 I am!! I am pretty hyped about it because the college I got accepted to is a d1 school and their band program is nuts. I'm not an adult QUITE yet because of where my birthday is but yeah B) soon!!
