    It's not the bugs themselves that get to me its the psychological scarring they leave behind. Constantly looking over your shoulder, looking at your walls and ceiling just waiting to see a dot where one wasn't a few minutes ago. Not being able to sleep peacefully because you think one might be in bed with you the fact that they feed while you're sleeping is the worst they get you when you're most vulnerable. You can't sit and relax in your favorite chair because you've seen them there too. You keep getting told that you need to throw out all your furniture but you can't afford new furniture and if you got used furniture you might as well be welcoming the fact that they could be infesting that as well. The vicious cycle is only made more due to the fact that the price to get rid of these things are so high. Every exterminator I've spoken to has told me it'll cost a bloody fortune a fortune I nor my family has we scrape by as it is. And the judging people always think you're disgusting when they don't understand that even a super clean and tight knit person can get these things and when you see one there's always more and the horror show begins. So it's not the bugs that get me they're just doing what instinct has them programmed to do but it's the psychological damage they do to a person just by being them. It's amazing how a tiny little thing can wreak so much havoc on a person.

    In all honesty to get rid of bed bugs you have to be really aggressive and highly dedicated. I had a bed bug problem some time ago when I was renting a room that had them. The landlord was cool about it and did what he could and sprayed for them, but in the end if I wanted them gone, I needed to be aggressive.
    Just like in the video, I bagged up all my clothes, and bedding and laundered them and dried on high heat for 30 minutes after the clothes were dry. As far as my other stuff, I would meticulously search for any bed bug evidence (them hiding) and either throw that item out or clean or if possible heat that item. Once I determined no evidence of bed bugs I would then seal my things in air tight containers. After the landlord sprayed the room, I went in and bug bombed the room (I realize pest control people don't recommend this, but that is what I did). I covered the bottom of the door with a throw away towel so none would escape. Beforehand I made sure no furniture touched the walls and all the drawers were empty and are pulled out. The next day (after work) I would steam everything. I would steam the plats, headboard, box spring, mattress which took me five to six hours to do, since I went really slow. During the next coming days and weeks I would repeat this process, steaming, laying out DE everywhere, bug bombing, laying some pesticides. I was so hardcore and dedicated to the cause ridding them that I gave myself no time to enjoy music, watch a move or nothing.
    While others in the house were doing their own thing enjoying their day, I spend all of my off time dealing with the issue, literally. I was so dedicated to the problem that after three weeks the room was bed bug free. The moral of the story is this, you can get rid of them, but you have to be really dedicated, at least that was my experience. Perhaps I was too dedicated.

    • @dragonore2009
      @dragonore2009 Před 4 lety +16

      Well, to be fair one of my roommates was just as highly dedicated as me, even though he didn't have any problems, which probably contributed to the successful eradication of the bed bugs. He would ask me to lift up his mattress so he could spray and I would ask him to help me with my things.
      I mean there was times that I would be so dedicated to the problem that my roomate would say "Dude you been at this for about six hours today."

    Ive been suffering from bed bugs for atleast 6months now. They are the most annoying things ever but remember these following points:
    1) although they do bite, they dont cause fatal harm or diseases
    2) with persistence and consistency they will eventually disappear
    So far I have replaced all my mattresses and beds (3bedroom house), I have encased all my new mattresses,i steam clean everyday, i used alcohol sprays, i iron all my clothes before putting them in my cupboard, and they are still there!! BUT.. they have decreased dramatically, i will NOT stop until they are completely gone. I have now ordered the pyrethin sprays, and climbing intercepters and powders. Im confident these will help! Thank u so much for your tips.
    To all my fellow bedbug sufferers.. DONT GIVE UP.. dont let them win!!

    I spent six, seven months being tormented by a single bedbug that followed me home after I made the mistake of setting foot in a grimy part of downtown Los Angeles. One night after being bitten dozens of times, I lost it and flipped over my mattress, only to see the bedbug perched on it in plain sight. I grabbed the nearest object within arm's reach, which turned out to be a tube of anti-insect bite ointment, and used it to smash the bedbug into a bloody pulp. The bites ceased completely after that.

    The good news is that they generally only feed every 5 or 6 days. The bad news is that they don't all have the same feeding schedule. I haven't seen a bed bug yet but I know they are biting me even when I'm awake because I always see their common three bump cluster after effect on my arm. I'm thinking of getting a few small spiders who would love to make a meal of these tiny critters. I don't like spiders but at least they don't bite people.

      there is one spider that hunts these things. I forget the name but it looks like a lint ball. unfortunately they are poisonous to humans(not fatal), and dont bite unless provoked but from what ive read it hurts pretty bad and they recommend medical attention.

    Thank you so much for this much needed video. I know someone who's been fighting them for 2 Year's now. They have tried everything & when I say everything I mean bc I've helped them a few time's treating and cleaning. So what you just showed me are thing's we haven't thought of like taking the casings off & treating there or steaming. We've done the heating, spraying, powders, washing, cleaning and they've gotten rid of most of their furniture & can't get new until they know they are gone for good, still they survive some how they can't get rid of them. They've gotten on top of it but their still there hiding in places & b4 they know it they're starting the whole process over again. I would guess the least they've spent is $2,000 although I'm sure it's more $$$$! & more $$$ to come!😕😔🙁😓. I feel so bad for them bed bugs are horrific! Seriously their should be a horror movie about killer monster bed bugs😂.

The last treatment, I don't even think the guy really did anything because he's convinced that it's all in my had because they can't physically find them. However, I have a very dark house with very dark floors and furniture. I've shown them new blood spots on walls and furniture and pictures of blood spots on my sheets and pillows and pictures of bites on me and my children. I'm out of money, out of resources, and almost out if what is left of my sanity. This morning my baby girl had bites on her lip and nose in addition to her face and neck and It's killing me that I can't keep her and my other kids safe. I don't know what else to do.

    One thing before putting the sheets in washer, fill the washer with hot or near hot water so they can't escape from the washer. Let them soak in the hot water. They will float to the top. I went to a concert in Dallas and stayed at a hotel and should have known better when I saw a dab of blood on the sheets the next morning but just figured it was lazy housekeeping. Anyway it's 3 in the morning and one just dropped off the ceiling right onto my computer desk. I bought a steamer and have been applying cimexa dust in common places which has definitely helped but I don't think it's going to get all of them. It's super embarrassing to have anyone over when they seem to pop up after weeks without seeing one just to show up for company.

    I know it may sound weird but this is very depressing! I am a Senior lady who has a low immune system since I had cancer. I purchased a small,old,cheap, mobile home and it has been one problem after the other here. I had a flying infestation of "no see ems" and I had huge welts, bites and oozing sores. Now I have massive bites from bed bugs and I am so paranoid I am loosing sleep. I have NO money to invest in this problem. Heck I worry about paying the lights bill! I do not have the physical stamina to fight these little buggers! and they are gross. Last night I felt one on my leg, I reached down to scratch and I killed the bug and blood was everywhere, on my leg, my clothes, etc. I bought new pillows and there are spots of blood and bed bug doo-doo trailed all over the new pillows. Be careful of gifts of "free" throw pillows, mattresses, chairs or other items where they can live. Thank you for the info!

This is so emotionally and physically exhausting, just knowing that when you lie down the bugs come out and who knows how many bugs are crawling and biting you. I am so close to going into a depression because of this infestation. I wanted to tell you that it may pay off if you call the Health Department, have someone come and see your infestation, and hear your problem as far as physically and financially taking care of this problem. Even a local church may listen to you plea. I pray you get some relief, and I so wish I could help you, but, I, too live on a fixed income, and without my son's help, I would be in your situation. I live in an apartment complex that hasn't been renovated in years. The ceiling in my room sunk in due to water damage and I had to sleep on my couch for months. During that time I realized very quickly that what I thought were mosquito bites were beg bug bites and they SUCK. It was bad enough that my family had a very small budget AND it was my first year in college and I had all these expenses, I had to wait until early this year to purchase a steel framed futon. To my utter terror earlier tonight I caught a little baby one about to climb down onto my pillow. I've never been angrier because after all the treatment and money I've spent they're just coming on back.

      Well I found out that bed bugs hide in the walls and travel, so eventually they will feel it! I would move and leave them! hahah

    This video shows a great well-rounded approach to solving the problem. It does take some effort indeed, but it is not the doomsday scenario that you hear from some people. And thanks for brining up the important fact that cutting off their food supply is a key part to getting rid of them -- something I almost never hear from the media articles that have covered this subject.

    This is a good video. I'm somewhat of an expert on this matter. I'm one of the few people to get rid of them on my own. It took me about a month via some hardcore research on the matter. This is legit. Very good sir

    Please help,
    Hello I am 12 years old and I have bed bugs, I live in a apartment, I am under age to work and I don't have a credit card, I live with my father. I told my father that we have them, at first he didn't believe me until he slept in my MY bed (btw I got them from my friend T^T) and saw them for him self. He said as long as it is only one we can kill them but what I'm trying to get him to understand that bed bugs are sneaky and we that they aren't going to go away just by killing one at a time! I watched this video and looked at some of the comments and saw that bombs won't help. Now I am scared that when my friends come over that they are going to find them or even worst, get them!(one of my friends already know, now she might now want to come over to my house, or might tell every one, or both!)Please help, what should I do, I just want to get rid of them, this is my top priority (along with getting good grades).
    Question:
    1.) If I turn on my heater in every room and close space so it can't escape, would that help even the slightest?
    2.) what do you think I should say/do to get my dad to buy this?
    I don't want to tell anyone because to me it is really embarrassing. I just really needed to get this off my chest and I am sooo glad I have people to relate to, I have school tomorrow and I'm kinda worried :,(

      Sorry my questions were:
      1.) if I turn off the heater in every room would that help in the slightest?
      2.)what should I say/do to make my dad bye this?
      Ps. I just really needed to get this off of my chest, but I am soooo glad I have people to relate to. Btw I have school tomorrow and I am a big worried :,(

      +X_KittyLover_X Hopefully you can encourage your dad to read up on bed bugs a little more, or at least let him know that there are definitely more bed bugs in your room than you can see. Bed bugs are excellent at hiding out of sight, so the infestation is bigger than he believes.
      To answer your other questions:
      1.) No, manipulating household temperatures won't do anything to affect bed bugs. They're resilient to any temperatures that are safe for humans, so any heat treatments that would harm them would be too dangerous for you to try yourself.
      2.) Study up on bed bugs some more via our website and CZcams channel and present your findings with your dad. A proven DIY treatment solution is the most cost-effective way to get rid of bed bugs, and delaying treatment will make it cost even more.

    God i hope everybody who deals with these demons can get rid of them soon! God is great as i no longer deal with them but a couple years back oh man lemme tell you, not a single day did i wake up and say "i slept so good!". My apt was infested with them to the most for 3 years straight. We moved around 3 TIMES and still had them come with us. Its terrible how itll be 3 in the morning and you wake up tired because of how fucking itchy and irritated your body is from all the biting, then you spend an hour killing all the ones you see and as soon as the lights go off, you feel stings all over your body and you just feel hopeless because you cant SLEEP.

    I dont sleep all night and stay with my phone. I have gotten so many bites . And i think the bed bugs got to my bed from my grand dad.
    He most likely had bed bugs and spreaded them to my room .
    And now every night i suffer.😭😭😭😭😭

But what I do is suprise attack i would wake up in the middle of the night and have my arsenal all set and ready to go be prepared tho cause once they see the light they scatter all over the place left, right, up, down, North, east, South, west, North west,east north,west west north south, I'm sure yall get what in saying but yea have your arsenal ready to go cause u will see alot of them as soon as they see the light so good luck all my fellow bed bug hunters let's get rid of them one bed bug at a time!!✌

    Thank You for a great demonstration on getting rid of bed bugs. I was wondering if boric acid would work. Take Care!!!

    • @BedbugSupply
      @BedbugSupply  Před 9 lety +1

      Boric acid only works on insects that eat it off of the floor or clean themselves. Since bed bugs do neither of these, it won't work on them.

    • @hbrowner7453
      @hbrowner7453 Před 9 lety +1

      BedbugSupply Oh, I thought it works just by the bugs crawling accross the boric acid and it sticks to their abdomen and then in penitrates through the skin of the bug and kills them or dehydrates them. Thanks!

    Me and my husband got rid of our bed after we moved. We threw away the sheets and pillows as well. We did however bring the quilt and the foam peice. I was wondering how small in size a bed bug can be. I notice new bites every day but when I search everything I don't find a bug. I even feel as if they could be biting me while I am at work.

    • @BedbugSupply
      @BedbugSupply  Před 9 lety

      Alexsis Salazar Adult bed bugs are about the size of an apple seed. They can be easily spotted if they're out in the open, but they prefer to hide when they're not feeding. It's not uncommon for an office to be infested.
