I think the important thing to remember about an item in fashion that makes it iconic…the person, the BODY, and the time. When all these things come together it is such magic! Aloha!
omg I LOVE your choices. I really like that you included princess Diana, she really was an icon, specially considering her time and conservative environment she used to live in. she was definitely ahead of her time, it's a shame she passed at such a young age.
I remember Elizabeth Hurleys Versace safety pin dress in the 90s. I was on a train with my mother and it was in a magazine. My mum was scandalised! It was the first time I’d heard of Versace.

I totally remember the Princess Diana LBD! So many other designers knocked that one off and I saw prom dress versions of it everywhere later on. Absolutely LOVED the safety pin Versace dress and still do. It kinda reminded me of the Stephen Sprouse safety pin dress that was on the cover of cosmopolitan in the mid 80s. ❤️💋
