Totally agree with you: NO-FUN-RACE. I was out on fin too and came back with boat. Unfortunately the lifeguards damaged my board (big hole in the deck) taking me back. In short: NO FUN.
During this long one jour no planning with 8,6 I was wondering what I would be with my old AHD GT 85 9,7 and 55 fin but i think would have been dame I just gain 2 knots earlier planning 12 vs 14 but we had 10 kt wind
yes it was not a Defi funny race it was Defi porno in middle of race start to think "what a hell i doing here?" even with foil in 6km i fly only 2,3 km

Even worse than me then could not think was possible. Lifeguard wanted to manage everything.
I was Out with an 165 l Board and 9.3 qm sail. No way! I was fastest when a wave washed me onto the beach. 🤙

I participated and it was the opposite of fun. Was on a 113 l board with 6.5 sail and honestly paddling would have been faster.
