    SA-19 Grison (tunguska) has optical tracking for its missiles as an option, the radar is primarily used as early warning and the tracking radar is for the guns mainly, or in poor conditions for the missiles also.

      Not sure if it works that way in DCS, but it could've been the reason your RWR wasn't picking his launches up :)
      That, or it was just because the launch was in your receivers' deadzone :)

      @@broworm1 i don't know for the M2K but military aircraft nowadays have a proximity missile alert even if it's an unguided rocket passing by.
      Do your "receivers" mean what i was talking about maybe ? The name about the one i was speaking about are "MAW" for Missile approach warning.

      is it possible that the RWR was damaged? maybe when passing the hind close? or would that give a warming in 99% / 100% of the time?

    All of those times that Hind Gunner could have ghosted you his Yak-B gatling gun. Would have loved to see your reaction to that. And that R-27 to the side of the head, oof.

    Hey I know this is from two years ago but, can you briefly explain bullseye? I'm having trouble comprehending how to refer to bullseye to get the location of an enemy. Is it just a matter of going to it on the map and asking for information from awacs only when you've gotten to bullseye on the map? If not, are you having to do some calculations in your head if you're not at bullseye? I'm a beginner, be gentle! Love your videos by the way..

    • @Hellreign82
      @Hellreign82  Před 3 lety

      No worries :)
      Long story short, Bulls is a location on the map - usually primary AO. You can see it on F10, so when I say off to Bulls, that's where I am going after finding its direction and range in F10
      It's rare that an AWACs would be set to use Bulls for BRA calls, but it would state so if that was the case (Hell 1-1, Bulls 254 for 40, 3000 feet for example)
      In that case, i would have to use the F10 map to first find that spot on the map from bulls (some planes have this ability) and then find that spot in reference to my plane
      usually though, AWACs and EWR are set to call out bandit locations from your aircraft by default though
      Hope that helps

    The Mirage gunsight is terrible. Tells you where the bullets would have gone if you had fired a little while ago, but does not actually calculate lead for the present moment like the F-15 does. I hope that's just a Razbam derp and that the real one isn't like that.

      Nice rig. Do you use the track clip or pro? I have issues when trying to look back and then circling my view up and back to the front as I am turning. Always seems to get stuck. My sensor is on top of my monitor and I sit at least 24" from sensor. It tracks fine when I am in the trackir software as well. Do you have a trackIR profile you could share?

    • @PatrickRatman
      @PatrickRatman Před 5 lety +1

      @@Power5 When looking at your track ir application on the top right where it indicates where the track clip/pro points are you want to move your camera so the 3 points are in the center of the camera's view. This way you have the best angle.

      Watch some videos on cranking and other defensive moves. You basically working to break the missiles lock, and/or deplete its energy.
