Hi Jtreg :-) thank you, good luck on your R80RT very similar but on their side, plenty of cleaning after you have finished lapping to get rid of all the paste.
One cheapy way of doing that when your "sucker" isn't holding is to put a bit of hose on the end of the valve stem and hook a drill to it and run it with your drill. It will go much faster than by hand though so you need to be very careful but it will work. czcams.com/video/TrKINFBsQD8/video.html
Hi Otis :-) I have used tube on the valve stem before, but still did it by hand. Trouble with using a drill is the motion is in one direction which is bad for lapping valves and will leave scores around the valve and seat due to the paste gathering up in the same scores making them deeper the more you go. You can get valve lap tools that fit in a drill that have the very important back and forth movement.
