    Rod Argent IS the OG prog keyboard master. Listen to the zombies stuff. He WAS Emerson/Wakeman before those 2 exploded. He set the stage for the merging of classical/baroque that was the very foundation of Prog.

    Newbie here... I'm wondering if I can sum more that once with D box plus... example summing drums/percussion then guitars etc then sum them again together? reason is D Box has 8 channels for summing-8 mono/4 stereo... what do you think about summing a couple different groups then summing those groups to final 2 track?

      Wow I have the 2Bus old school 16 channel before hitting it I have a 8 channel tube warmer box.. No mix knobs..😢 and the whole time I was just routing in into the 2Bus to 2 channel stereo out the whole time… with just other gear (2 api 512v etc) attached at the end of the stereo out signal path .. back into the apollo🤦🏽‍♂️ Beautiful 3D flavor this box provides though 😅
      The plan now is to be able to wet/dry the tube box to get rid of too much Tube saturation via a ADAT FerroFish.. with digital control. I will have to get a new interface that host 16 channel because I have apollo 8 silver.. plus the converters are not that good on it…Thanks for this brothers

    Hello, I'm using a Dangerous 2bus+. I connected everything as it should be from/to my Orion Studio (it's pretty much a common sense setup). However, for some reason, I keep getting feedback when I go Main Outs from the 2Bus+ into any inputs on my interface. I'm sure it's something simple being overlooked. Any idea on what it could be?

      I understand when returning your sum on an Apollo from the Dangerous you have to mute the return input track on the Apollo otherwise your hearing two... not sure if that helps.

    • @teddybeargram3
      @teddybeargram3 Před rokem +1

      @@fadygergis it is absolutely amazing. I have heard and used a few of the mics it emulates and the l22 does a pretty good job emulating. But the beauty of the mic is that while it doesn't replace these tens of thousands of dollars in mics. It emulates them well enough that you can record your session and tweak the l22 app and make some truly unique and wonderful tones. And characteristics. Like the Sony c800. When you use that emulation is it spot on no. But the mic takes on the characteristics of that mic. So when you mess around around with the axis and proximity effects and such or pair it with another mic. You get a tone and sound with the soul of that Sony mic or the nuemann or whatever you choose to use. There is literally an infinite amount of different sounds and tones you can make with this mic to suit any session you throw at it. It was worth every penny. That's my humble opinion though

    Great Video Fady! I have a similar apollo setup (x8p + 8p) and I use 2bus XT. I wanted to ask you, are your apollos daisy chained with thunderbolt cables? X8p is my main monitor setup and 8p is the slave, and i cant seem to access outputs of my 8p. Would you be able to help explain why? Thanks again for your video much appreciated!

    • @fadygergis
      @fadygergis  Před 11 měsíci

      Yeh they are chained via thunderbolt. That’s the only possible way to chain them. And you should be able to access all inputs and outputs of both without any issue.
      You might wanna check your I/O in the console.

    • @fadygergis
      @fadygergis  Před 7 měsíci

      I personally haven’t had any issue with it. I did bought the one with 1 input and 3 outputs.
      I honestly don’t use it now since I upgraded to the Antelope Orion I have
      Enough I/O so I don’t use it anymore.
      If you are Interested shoot me an email and I can arrange a sale with you.

    Good Day, Fady!
    Would you be so kind as to share the difference between the "2-Bus LT" and the "2 Bus+"? Are they both intended for summing? If so, what differences would be expected of them?
    I appreciate your patience, I promise that I am learning as quickly as I can.

    • @JewelzFin
      @JewelzFin Před 10 měsíci

      They are both used for summing. The 2Bus+ has more features like harmonic distortion, etc. Both devices are great, but the 2 Bus+ is greater.

  • @sekritskworl-sekrit_studios

    LOL... Back again.
    I/O matrix finally "clicks" in my head. I think that I just needed to deal with enough routing between devices before circling back to the UAD I/O matrix in order for it to click.
    BTW, 2 follow up questions:
    1)Why does the 2 bus add the additional headroom?
    2)Does going to any multichannel analog piece of hardware allow this take place, or is there something about these "Summing" units which do anything specific?

    • @fadygergis
      @fadygergis  Před rokem +1

      The analog summing is not for headroom. They are for adding back the analog color that you used to get from a board with small variations among channels which helps make your mix much warmer, wider and fuller.

      @sekritskworl-sekrit_studios Před rokem

      @@fadygergis interesting. I was watching some Michael James videos which provided me the impression of added headroom within the analog segment of the chain. I'll have to "circle back" to him to gain a fuller understanding.

    I love the video bro. I literally just started My studio up again. I have an apollo 6x and an older apollo quad which was firewire but I bought the thunderbolt upgrade. My old set up I had the apollo quad 8. Into the dangerous d box I dont remember if the dangerous d box was 8 stereo channels or 8 mono channels. It's been over ten years. I can't remember. Sorry for telling you my life story. If I get a new dangerous dbox. How would I go about hooking it up to both my apollos.? And the second question. When I watched your video. I seen you send your stems into the dangerous bus. We're your stems mono or stereo. I hope the question makes sense. Thank you for rhe video. I subscribed to you

      My stems are all In Stereo but you don’t have to create stereo stems you can do mono like for bass or single vocal track.
      To answer your first question you would connect both interfaces together and literally follow exactly what I did in my video it would be pretty much exactly the same.

      @@fadygergis o ok awesome. Im excited to get back into this music production again. When I graduated college 12 years ago. I came from an analog background. Reels and a mixing console. Outboard gear. And by the time I came out of full sail. People were transitioning more and more in the box. So I liked to keep my setup simple. I ran a nuemann 103 into a focusrite liquid channel. Cause that focusrite emulated so many good pres and compressors. And out to my apollo. Then the apollo out to the dbox back in stereo to the apollo. And out to my monitor station. I had the jbl lsr8s. I felt like that dbox gave my mixes that warmth that mixing in the box took away. I want to keep that same energy in my new setup.
