Past data shows france to be a more reliable and less agenda driven partner. for such a critical project we should have selected them. cooperation with the us can be on other (less critical areas) as well econonomically. when negotiating with other countries you have to compartmentalize and prioritize your own critical requirements.

Aadi, I agree totally with you about developing our own engine. But I have doubts about the capability of the GTRE. This organisation is filled with incompetent babus with a few technical people thrown in. I think govt organisation being what they are, it is the private organisations which should be very handsomly rewarded for real milestone deliveries. That is the only way. Taiwan will soon be occupied and after that we will need to fight china. Nobody will be by our side.

India has no social media platform of its own. It cannot make even a web browser. Not a single full-component mobile of its own. But would not pass up an opportunity to mock China which has a far superior technology and multifold manufacturing sector and envious supply chain system and most importantly it is not a "digital colony" of the racist white West. 😂
The problem with kaveri is not its core development but the regular test it requires for which our govt and babus in defense dont give green signal for development of test labs and infrastructure.. Wr have to go to foreign partner for testing and certification each time
