I am a composer (soon I will make a channel with my compositions) an it is extremely hard to make a good piece of music let alone an EPIC piece of music!!! :D
This song is epic. It feels like a song you play on your final stand. 3:10 is when you realize that soon this is the end and 3:33 is when you use the last of your energy to make a final stand before ultimately perishing.
Cody Ventura To me, 3:10 almost sounds like the enemy realizes they're about to be defeated while the hero gives a speech about why they are about to win and then at 3:33, the hero finishes the battle.
Cody Ventura I've always viewed the entire song as one man's battle to cope with the loss of a loved one, told through his playing of a violin: 0:06 the scene pans in to the man (in his 30's perhaps) at his wife's death bed in a well-furnished, comfortable room as he solemnly plays along while her life drains away. 0:42 a shadowy figure grips his shoulders and whispers into his ear. Likely saying things like "It's all your fault.", "You could have saved her.", "You didn't love her enough." This figure represents his inner demons wrestling with his logical explanations that it is just her time. 0:53 The man tries to turn away from the figure, who stays on him, constantly berating him with how he "failed as a husband" and should just give in to his sorrow. 1:05 With an anguished cry, the man collapses to his knees, unable to fight back these feelings. He sobs as he plays, while the shadowy figure dissipates into a cloud that rips around the room, displacing ornaments, cracking the walls, peeling the paint, breaking the furniture. 1:40 The room is in a much worse state. The walls are pale and the floorboards are rotted, the furniture is torn. The man looks older now, a graying beard on his blank face as the figure, now accompanied by a few more tear at the room, further degrading it. They do not touch him though, for the music keeps them at bay. But he is growing ever weaker, and wishes for it all to end. The figures draw closer and closer with every passing moment. 2:33 Sensing his weakness, the figures attempt to close in. Angry at the turmoil they wrack at him, he attempts to drive them back with this powerful verse. They recoil at the music, and the darkness over the room begins to lift and fade into a dull gray. Alas, he is not strong enough to drive them away forever, and his desperate fight takes a heavy toll on him. 3:10 With no more fight left, he collapses to his knees once again and begins to submit to the figures. The darkness descends again, and his fighting accomplished nothing. But, when all hope seems lost, a warm, white gloved hand grips his shoulder, he looks around and sees a group of pale, but beautiful women begin to circle him to protect him. 3:31 With the last of his strength, the man stands, his gray beard begins to gain color and his skin appears more youthful. 3:34 With the aid of his protectors (you can hear their choir) he unleashes his most powerful verse yet. The figures, unable to withstand the might of this powerful music, rip and tear around the group as the damages done begin to mend, the walls gradually regain their color, the rot peels away from the floorboards, the darkness is replaced by a white light that renews all it touches, and the figures begin to dissipate, defeated. 4:11 The figures gone, and the darkness lifted, the women step away, revealing one more person in the room: the man's wife, still as beautiful to him as the day she died. She glides toward the man as he feebly plays his last chord at 4:17 and weakly collapses into her arms. The man, now old with a long white beard gazes into her smiling face as his life drains from his eyes with the notes of the piano tune. Closing his eyes, he smiles in victory. The "story" is supposed to be metaphorical in nature. The figures represent his depression as he copes with the loss of the woman he so desperately loved. The room is his mind, being torn to shreds by this depression. He fights to keep these feelings at bay, for if they take hold of him (if the feelings take complete control), he will die (suicide). The playing of the violin represents this fight, perhaps representing a hobby or something to lose himself in to forget about her death. He ages throughout this fight, for the fighting drains his energy. This also represents the passing of time as e continues to live with this regret and depression. In the end however, his actions alone were not enough to save himself. The women represent some outside force coming to his aid. They can be literally seen as angels (pointing towards him looking towards faith, whatever religion it may be) or even some friends or family to help him cope (which could still be seen as angels in his eyes). With all of this, he is able to shelve his depression, and in the end, he dies comfortably knowing that he will see her again in the afterlife, or at least knowing that they loved each other, and he was not to blame. This is represented by his wife's spirit holding him as he dies, much like he did her when she was dying. He dies happy, having won his fight with depression and knowing that he will be with her again. Maybe not as epic as an actual fantasy fight, but its just what I see. It is a sad song, at least. That's what it makes me feel. Sorry for the wall of text.

I always imagine a rollercoaster through a ghost castle and then at 1:03 it drops down through a wooden gate and makes all kinds of awesome turns n shit and at 1:40 the rollercoaster slowly enters a peaceful forest with deers and birds and other animals and at 2:15 it goes up a little hill with creeks and rivers, and at 2:30 it drops down an huge waterfall, underwater, through caves and underground dungeons with red torches and at 3:10 you come in a little german village with farmers and citizens, all calm and nice but at 3:30 suddenly a huge horse cavalry charges past the town with flags and spears charging at a big black army with the ghost castle behind them. At 4:10 you realize you have fallen asleep in a jungle with animals everywhere.
The first time I heard this was during a PlayStation commercial. I had one of those false-smart phones. Was built more like a flip phone, but instead of being a flip, it slid the keypad out from the back. When I first heard this song I had grabbed it, tried to find the song on my computer but couldn't, and decided to record the best part with the 'Record Audio' function on the phone straight from the commercial, after finding it on CZcams. I listened to that small recording so much. Sadly, my family wanted to move forward with the phones, so they got smart phones, and I got one of those Android LG Tablets. My Slide Phone doesn't have service anymore, and I lost track of it years ago. I'll never forget those memories.
I can't believe its been 10 years past already and this song always makes me want to go back to the past and start over and fix what I've made mistakes on. Hey you! Yes you. You finally made it! Welcome to the new generation on this world. 2012-2022

A veteran of several battles on the ballroom floor in full military dress, dancing at a social function, but flashing back to battles where he deftly beat his opponents with his amazing moves, almost as if he were dancing across the battlefield. Ending with a graceful bow to a completely ignorant princess.
This song always makes me think of a story that has been brewing in my head for a decade. It's a story about a fantasy world where magic is heavily controlled by those in power. A story about a boy stolen from his life. It's a story about a conscripted soldier raising in rank. It's a story of a respected captain betraying his superiors, recruiting those he was tasked with destroying and turning a legion of the king's army into the starts of a rebellion. It's a story about a man that thought he had lost it all until he learned what loss truly was. A story about a man that gains more than he ever dreamed possible and laments it greatly.
*Let me tell you a story,* The story of a endless day, The day I lost her, The day she died in my arms, The day she broke the promise, The promise that she will never leave me, The day I tried so hard to save her, But in the end it doesn't matter, The day I was left alone, The day I asked the God, The day I asked Why?, The day I tasted blood, The day I felt love, The day I felt pain, The pain of losing your loved ones, The day I lost, The reason to live, The day i fought the skies, The day i lost my brothers and sisters, The day the sky cried, The day when I cried, The day the angels ravaged on us, The day when i fought them, The day I tried so hard, The day I never wanted, The day I tried to save her, The day I felt dispair and pain, The day I could not help, The day I suffered, The day we tried to fight, The day we lost everything, The day a new Era begins, The day we lost but, The day we got hope, The day we knew, That we are not alone, The day I lost meaning, Meaning of life, The day I felt, The day I had to live without her, *Regards*

how does TSFH make all of their songs so good!? usually an artist has one or two good songs that everyone loves, and then piles of mediocre stuff. TSFH is always epic, inspiring, and just so over-hormone releasing you think that you are in heaven, until it ends.
Every single song in here make me to remember my ex and our love. Two souls, one music, one love. I wanted it last long forever, I regrets it and how it ended. Miss her so much and these music still make me hurt but I keep listening and enjoying this hurt.
I study on the webb and when I find someone talking about very hard subjects, I play this low in the background to make even the most boring of educational speeches grand and interesting!
Listen close, Listen well
For I have a story to tell
It begins not here,
but two steps from hell
Outstanding!
Roses are red
Violets are blue
That's deep as hell
Poetry is hard
Give those burning fools a place to dwell
But don't throw thou wishes in an empty well
Regret is just so close it can hear the charming demon bell
Now go retrive those wishes
They are close
They are near
Two steps from hell
Just to slowly disappear
That gave me the tingles.

Great song!!! Especially at 8000%
Nearly 10 years now and this ist still the most powerful and simultaneously most emotional ballad i`ve ever heard...
This melody taught me that everything, absolutely everything is achievable.
Work hard, believe in it, and you will make it.
I've listened to all the songs from 2 steps from hell and this song and heart of courage are my favourites

All TSFH tracks are made with one flaw: they end.
But then the replay button appears in its heavenly glow.
+Electron Alone and don't forget CZcams's great ally, the almighty Listenonrepeat
Or the powerful deity, RythClikHanLoop.
I legit havent heard this song in like 7 monthes, its good to be back
HEARD THIS SONG ON A PS4 COMMERCIAL AND THERE WAS NO TURNING BACK AFTER THAT! COULD BE MY #1 MOST FAVORITE SONG OF TSFH (THAT IS SAYING A LOT)!
the change in 1min 40 seconds is insane lol it gives me chills even after the years of listening to this
I swear I'm getting a cello just for this.
***** an electric violin
***** i love that sound that only a violin can give that kind of rubbing or friction type sound
You havent watched any anime, right?
Defne Çeliksöz Me ? nope
I suggest you to watch One Piece. Cuz its good and theres an Anime Music Video (AMV) with this music. Its really epic.
Great fantasy my friend.....
Dayumn that is some imagination you have there brotha
This is one of those songs which make you realize how truly beautiful this life is.
Why would anyone dislike this piece? Unbelievable.
One of the best things I've ever heard.
TSFH’s music makes me feel more confident in the path I have chosen
2012-2022
Someone play this at my funeral cause im dying, this is simply too good. Two steps from Hell. what songs and what a name, i give everything an 11/10.
holy.
shit.
Don't die man
Ya
Today i realized my favorite composer is Thomas Bergersen and i cannot stop listening to two steps from hell cause omg i can feel the music alive traveling inside of me and exploding like thousand colors 💖💖💖
TSFH Needs to have his own game with all his music, imagine the epic storyline all these beautiful soundtracks
I always found it weird this is on SkyWorld, as it has such an epic High Seas vibe, making Unleashed its spiritual home. No matter where it is there can be no denying this is Epic, and sits within the TSFH Pantheon.
لا إلاه إلا الله No God except Allah

Listening to TSFH always makes me imagine I'm in another world having adventures, being in different eras and many other things.
This song inspires me so much. Love it!
KTB What do you mean ?! Can't you hear how awesome this is? Like awesome isn't even close to what this music is!
From action, a Man becomes a Hero
From death, a Hero becomes a Legend
From time, a Legend becomes a Myth
And from myth , a man takes a action
And from faith, all this becomes a reality
I love coming back every day to listen to my favorite compositor and his masterpieces. Love being around people like me in the comments and reading their responses by the power of his work.
My 13 year old ass would think that i could make this myself in garage band then come back in an hour to appreciate this even more.
I've always said that the best way to appreciate something is to attempt to recreate it.
Damn!! that violin at 0:41 is pure classical music :3
This song made me write a book
Volume : 300%
Who needs ears anyway!

3:09 is my favorite part
*Let me tell you a story,*
The story of a endless day,
The day I lost her,
The day she died in my arms,
The day she broke the promise,
The promise that she will never leave me,
The day I tried so hard to save her,
But in the end it doesn't matter,
The day I was left alone,
The day I asked the God,
The day I asked Why?,
The day I tasted blood,
The day I felt love,
The day I felt pain,
The pain of losing your loved ones,
The day I lost,
The reason to live,
The day i fought the skies,
The day i lost my brothers and sisters,
The day the sky cried,
The day when I cried,
The day the angels ravaged on us,
The day when i fought them,
The day I tried so hard,
The day I never wanted,
The day I tried to save her,
The day I felt dispair and pain,
The day I could not help,
The day I suffered,
The day we tried to fight,
The day we lost everything,
The day a new Era begins,
The day we lost but,
The day we got hope,
The day we knew,
That we are not alone,
The day I lost meaning,
Meaning of life,
The day I felt,
The day I had to live without her,
*Regards*

how does TSFH make all of their songs so good!? usually an artist has one or two good songs that everyone loves, and then piles of mediocre stuff. TSFH is always epic, inspiring, and just so over-hormone releasing you think that you are in heaven, until it ends.
exactly!!! there are so many songs from TSFH that I love and I can’t even pick a favorite
8 years after i first heard it i still love this. Powerful, Epic, and it still gives me shivers.
One of my favorite things about the TSFH fandom is the creativity the music draws out of people
Thomas Bergersen is a God among mortals.
He's one God amonst many other
Very true.
Every single song in here make me to remember my ex and our love. Two souls, one music, one love. I wanted it last long forever, I regrets it and how it ended. Miss her so much and these music still make me hurt but I keep listening and enjoying this hurt.
I should thank that One Piece who used this music in his video. He gave me the chance to listen to a melody I will never forget.
1:41-2:34 this is the absolute best part for me. The entire song is amazing. Thomas Bergersen, you have done much good with the song. Keep it up man

In love this song so much that i can’t stop listening (the otter songs of: Two Steps Form Hell Too.😃👍
(Best music Channel ever!)
They have songs about otters? I never knew. ;)
I've forgotten how epic TSFH's music can be. I haven't listened to their music in a long time. Glad I came back to check this out. :)
I really wonder if Nick and Thomas just listen to this and say we nailed it to each other.
It would be a bit weird, since they write music separately. This track particularly was composed by Thomas.
They do? This sounds like a mix between both, really. But still, creating TSFH would still make them both proud haha
The_Red Bullet Sure, but Nick isnt anywhere as appreciated as Thomas because Thomas generally has more epic music
one of the best songs they made in my opinion!

This song helped me to struggle with my depression. When i listen it now, I am coming back to the time but I feel happy.
I study on the webb and when I find someone talking about very hard subjects, I play this low in the background to make even the most boring of educational speeches grand and interesting!
The violin solo is awesome!
Esta música me cambió la vida. Sin exagerar. Me hace suspirar. Es lo más sublime que jamás escuché. Gracias, Dios, por la vida de los que hacen TSFH.
